This Morning star suffers ankle injury as live show segment goes wrong
This Morning star Kate Lawler suffered a painful injury while on the show as the Big Brother winner told viewers about the latest competition on the ITV programme This Morning's Kate Lawler found herself in a bit of a pickle on live TV as she suffered an embarrassing fall from a hammock. Engaging with ITV viewers about the latest prize draw, the former Big Brother champ wished them "good luck indeed" before her attempt to lounge on the hammock went awry. Kate tumbled off unexpectedly as she tried to settle down, but carried on chatting to the camera regardless. She optimistically declared "what a better way to enjoy the sunshine" whilst attempting to hoist herself back up, but struggled to reclaim her spot. The footage shows Kate eventually mastering the hammock just as she gleefully exclaims "I did it". However, she then confessed that she had actually "really hurt" her ankle and requested an espresso martini from a crew member. In the backdrop, co-hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard could be heard chuckling as they witnessed Kate's calamity. In related news, it wasn't long ago that Kate revealed she'd broken a garden rule during a disagreement involving her neighbour's shed. The 45-year-old appealed to Instagram fans for counsel after opting to paint the rear of a "garish blue" shed black. According to Kate, her action sparked outrage from her neighbour despite Kate being the only one with a view of the garden structure, reports the Mirror. Kate quipped: "Why do I always get myself in these situations? I'm in trouble with my neighbour for painting the back of their bright blue, garish, shed a different colour. "Won't be doing it again as in hindsight I know I should have asked first, but I didn't think it would be a big deal given that they can't see it?". She continued by querying her followers if she was truly an "a******e" and whether she "needed to buy flowers". Kate added: "It has made me wonder though... Would you be annoyed if you discovered the back of your shed (which you couldn't see) had been painted by the neighbour whose garden backed on to yours? "Have you had a similar fall out with your neighbour? Basically, am I a******e and should I buy them flowers and a box of milk tray to apologise?" Responding to her tale, Lisa Snowdon, Kate's co-star from This Morning, responded with: "Oops" and included a see-no-evil emoji. One person said: "Honestly .. you should have asked and she should have said yes" whilst another chimed in with light-heartedness: "Id love it! ..you're the famous Kate Lawler! That's like having a Banksy on your shed." Kate shot to stardom back in 2002 following her stint on Big Brother, where she triumphantly emerged as the series winner. She has often expressed gratitude for submitting her application for the show, which paved the way for her career successes. Post her Big Brother victory, Kate has forged a path as a television host, frequently gracing the set of This Morning.

Holly Willoughby unrecognisable as she makes huge change to her appearance
Former This Morning star Holly Willoughby has been showered with compliments after unveiling a brand-new and edgy look Holly Willoughby has shown off an edgy new look and her fans can't get enough of it. The former This Morning star, 44, took to Instagram on Thursday to unveil her subtle transformation as she rocked a wavy hairstyle and a pair of very out-there glasses. The mum-of-three snapped a selfie while sitting in the car as she joked about being her children's 'personal party driver'. Holly captioned the snap: "Any other mums/dads of 16 year old, post GCSE children suddenly find themselves with a new role of personal party driver? Mums 'Mini' Cabs … and yes… I'm now a Glasses wearer… game changer." Holly and her husband Dan Baldwin are proud parents to son Harry, 16, daughter Belle, 12, and nine-year-old son Chester. Their eldest son Harry has just completed his GCSE's and it seems like Holly has been roped in as his personal chauffeur after completing his exams. After unveiling her new look, fans of Holly's flocked to the comment section to gush over her naturally wavy hair as one commented: "Gorgeous. You look so pretty and the glasses really suit you." Another echoed: "Wow!!! Holly you have never looked better." It comes after Holly's career plans for the future have reportedly been unveiled as she's been left without an upcoming TV show. The star has been a staple on our screens for years but it seems that she hasn't got any upcoming projects for us to look forward to. The TV star is now at a point in her career where she hasn't got a programme lined-up for the first time in 21 years. This comes as her usual presenting gig on Dancing On Ice has come to an end as the show has been axed. Holly's other job hosting Bear Hunt with Bear Grylls also won't be happening again as that's been axed as well. She has also chosen to leave You Bet! which means Stephen Mulhern will be hosting the show alone. It has been reported that Holly's husband Dan Baldwin is working on a reboot of Record Breakers which means Holly could be in with a chance of a presenting job. The Sun reported that a source said it would make "perfect sense" for Holly to be up for the role. They said: "Record Breakers is likely to be a prime time hit and it would make perfect sense for Holly to take the reins. She has worked alongside Dan before and the pair know what it takes to make great telly." Holly has also been in amongst a few names that could be hosting the reboot of Cilla Black's Blind Date. Other celebs that could be up include Claudia Winkleman and Davina McCall. Another show Holly is being looked at for is a new Channel 4 programme where new undiscovered singers are found. Holly first returned back to TV last year after taking an 18 month break. It has also been reported that ITV are keen to keep Holly as she recently met with Katie Rawcliffe, director of entertainment and daytime about future opportunities. An insider revealed: "Holly always intended to lock in new presenting roles for ITV, which has been her home for so long. She didn't have anything confirmed earlier this year just due to the way the cards had fallen, but there are a string of exciting projects on the table and 2025 is looking good for Holly. "Holly is looking to the future and this week's meeting was a big part of that. It won't be a return to daytime programming but new entertainment formats." The meeting coincided with a documentary about Holly's kidnapping airing. Holly declined to participate in Channel 5's documentary, The Plot To Kill Holly Willoughby, which told the story of the plot by obsessed security guard Gavin Plumb to kidnap, rape and murder her. The traumatic experience is what led her to step down from her role on ITV1's This Morning and take a break from television altogether.

"Attempting to get his life back on track, Conn had recently been making moves that would see him repay old debts, rebuild relationships, and get him off the streets. While admitting it was a difficult decision, the actress said she wanted to spend less time away from her family. She explained at a Q&A event in London: "It was a big decision because I love the job, I love the people I was working with and I know they loved it too so it was a little bit of an emotional responsibility as well because if I stop, it's going to stop. "I saw on the catering list one day, just on a typical day there were 76 people, so that's all those people. I console myself with the fact that there's a big studio opening in Sunderland next year so there will be lots of jobs available." Vera will return to screens on Sunday (Image: ITV ) She added: "I was aware that people who would like to continue on it wouldn't be able to and that made me feel sad but as much as I like my Newcastle family, I have a family at home and I hadn't had a summer for 14 years and I thought, 'Bren, go and have a summer. Go home'. So it was a difficult decision." Brenda's departure wasn't the only one to leave fans heartbroken, as Kenny Doughty confirmed he was leaving the series in 2023. In the fifth series of the ITV drama, Aiden initially replaced Vera's original sidekick, Joe Ashworth (David Leon). Aiden Healy left Vera in 2023 (Image: ITV ) However, in spring 2023, he confirmed his "difficult decision" to leave. On Instagram, he expressed his gratitude, saying: "I want to thank everyone who's made this amazing time so joyous, ITV, Silverprint, all the brilliant cast and crew BUT of course my buddy and inspiration Brenda Blethyn. The perfect leading star who I owe so much to. I feel lucky to have you as a friend, you make me howl with laughter and have been a rock for me over the years. I can't thank you enough. Precious times." He concluded his heartfelt message with a nod to the show's dedicated audience: "And finally, the Vera fans: without you and your support, I would never have made so many films. You really are the best fans in the world. Thank you so much for your loyalty and love for the show." David Leon returned to Vera following Kenny's departure to play Joe until the series came to an end. Article continues below Vera is available to watch on ITVX.

This $37 Item Is 1 Frequent Flier's Easy Fix to Avoid One of the Grossest Parts of Hotel Rooms
I was at my home airport of LAX covering a recent Condor press event, at which the airline unveiled new European routes and showed off its sleek A330neo business class cabin. But there was another highly specific detail that caught my attention: While standing in a group, I overheard one airline executive casually mention he never travels without his portable kettle. Even on short trips. Even when flying carry-on only. Naturally, I had to know more, so I leaned in and pressed the conversation. 'Why bother taking it? I guess it's the most British thing you'll hear this week, but good black tea needs boiling water," explained Stephen Mc Kenna, an area manager for Condor. And that, he explained, is where most hotel rooms fall short. 'These coffee makers in hotel rooms tend to be way below that, so you get really weak tea,' he said. 'They also have a constant lingering stale coffee taste in them, which I just can't do; it's the same thing in all the chain hotels that have a usually much-appreciated coffee and tea station: the water boilers have nearly always had coffee in them before, so again, that lingering taste.' Beyond ensuring a quality brew, Mc Kenna's inclination to travel with a portable kettle also acts as an ingenious fix for a rather unsettling hotel guest phenomenon. In April, the hosts of Britain's This Morning revealed that guests are known to wash their dirty underwear and socks in the hotel room's kettle. "You'd be surprised how many treat the kettle like a general-purpose pot because they don't want to use the sink," a Manchester-based housekeeper shared with the daytime television program. "Unless there's a complaint, kettles are usually just wiped on the outside and left in place." That's why, no matter how light he's packing, Mc Kenna makes room for a kettle similar to the Loutytuo Portable Travel Kettle—a compact, collapsible option that boils clean-tasting water fast and reliably. Available on Amazon starting at $37, the Loutytuo kettle has thousands of five-star reviews from travelers who praise its portability, speed, and reliability. Made with food-grade silicone and stainless steel, it folds down to under three inches high and weighs less than a pound, making it ideal for even the strictest luggage setups. 'There's always a couple of sachets of oatmeal in my bag, in case I need a quick breakfast,' Mc Kenna added. With the ability to boil water in just a few minutes, this kettle isn't just about tea. You can rehydrate instant soup, make pour-over coffee, or whip up noodles—all without leaving your hotel room. The device is dual-voltage (100–240V), so it works internationally with the right plug adapter—a key feature for frequent flyers. It heats quickly (typically under five minutes for .5L of water) and automatically shuts off when it reaches a full boil. A secure locking lid prevents spills, and the wide-mouth design makes it easy to clean between uses. Travelers also love that it cools down fast, so you can collapse it and pack it away not long after using it—perfect for those early hotel check-outs or airport transfers. Over in the review section, one traveler wrote, "This kettle folds up very nicely and the handle folds conveniently out of the way so that it takes up very little room in luggage," and another shopper added, "This is probably my favorite travel purchase ever." If you're someone who values a proper cup of tea, wants total control over your hot drinks while traveling, or just likes to keep your breakfast routine consistent on the road, a little kettle like Loutytuo Portable Travel Kettle might be worth the carry-on real estate. For Mc Kenna, it's non-negotiable: 'You don't know what kind of coffee-flavored water situation you're walking into at any hotel. This solves that every time.'
