Tasjeel is now operating 16 sites in Sharjah, including commercial facilities, with these new additions expected to contribute 5% of Tasjeel's total testing volume in the Emirate. Bringing Tasjeel closer to more people ensures that every motorist has access to the highest standards of testing and registration, contributing to a safer and more efficient driving environment across our country.' The Tasjeel Souq Al Haraj site features four service bays capable of handling approximately 54 tests daily, with an expected annual capacity of 31,000 vehicle tests. The facility offers comprehensive services including light vehicle testing, export testing, Comprehensive Plus assessments, chassis measurement, on-board diagnostics, and GPS authentication certificates. The Tasjeel Al Madam site includes one service bay and is expected to conduct 26 tests daily, with an annual capacity of 10,000 vehicle tests, providing light vehicle testing and export test services to the Al Madam community. The new Industrial Area 4 is designed to serve both business-tocent-business and business-to-consumer clients in the industrial district, offering comprehensive vehicle testing and registration services, along with on-site insurance services to provide customers with a complete one-stop solution. Tasjeel centres offer a comprehensive range of services, including number plate issuance, international driving licences, chassis measurement for light vehicles, battery and on-board diagnostic tests, and VIP services. Tasjeel also provides complimentary VIP services for people of determination, the elderly, and pregnant women, along with additional amenities such as heavy and light vehicle testing, a variety of car accessories, photocopying, and insurance services. With the new Al Madam, Souq Al Haraj, and Industrial Area 4 additions, Tasjeel now operates 37 sites and two mobile inspections, providing industry-leading vehicle testing and registration services equipped with the latest technology and staffed by highly trained professionals. The new system is accessible via the 'RTA Dubai' mobile app and the RTA For customers who prefer not to book in advance, an optional walk-in service will remain available at 19 centres, subject to an additional service fee of Dhs100. Centres offering vehicle inspection services through appointments However, eight centres will only offer inspection services through pre-booked appointments, with no walk-in option. These include Wasel Al Arabian Centre & Nad Al Hamar, Shamil Al Adid, Al Muhaisnah and Nad Al Hamar, Al Mumayaz Vehicle Testing Al Mizhar, and Tasjeel Al Tawar and Al Mankhool. Introduction of vehicle inspection appointments follow pilot phase of project The expansion follows the 'tangible success' of a pilot phase launched in October 2024 at Tasjeel centres in Al Qusais and Al Barsha. According to RTA, the trial was effective in saving customers time and effort. The pilot revealed a 46 per cent drop in average waiting times at the two centres, and a 15 per cent reduction in occupancy rates of inspection transactions. Despite a 13 per cent decline in overall testing transactions, revenue levels remained stable. Of the users, 52 per cent opted for pre-booking, 26 per cent used the walk-in service, and the remaining 22 completed services not requiring prior appointments. Qais Al Farsi, director of Vehicle Licensing at He added: 'The wider rollout of the initiative across vehicle testing centres is expected to yield several key benefits, most notably saving customers time and effort, reducing waiting times by around 40 percent, and improving occupancy rates, particularly at centres where utilisation had previously exceeded 80 percent.' Al Farsi noted that the booking system will be mandatory for all customer and vehicle categories, except for vehicles registered in Dubai and owned by People of Determination and seniors, both citizens and residents. 'These individuals are exempt from the booking requirement for vehicle inspection services, in line with RTA's commitment to ensuring accessible and inclusive service delivery for these two key customer segments,' he said.

Starting on June 2, all 27 technical testing centres across Dubai will require bookings for vehicle inspections through the RTA Dubai smart app or website ( as announced by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) on Tuesday. This measure aims to ease congestion at inspection centres. Only the Tasjeel Hatta centre is exempt from the requirement to book an appointment. Walk-in service will still be available for customers who prefer to visit without a prior appointment; however, an additional service fee of Dh100 will apply. The online booking system was first launched in October last year, exclusively at Tasjeel centres in Al Qusais and Al Barsha. 'The initiative proved effective in saving customers' time and effort,' noted RTA, adding: 'The result of the six-month pilot phase revealed a notable reduction in average customer waiting times for vehicle inspection services at the Al Qusais and Al Barsha centres, by approximately 46 per cent. There was also a 15 per cent decrease in the occupancy rate of physical inspection transactions relative to total available capacity. RTA said that booking an appointment will help reduce waiting times by around 40 per cent. It will also improve occupancy rates, particularly at centres where utilisation had previously exceeded 80 per cent,' noted Qais Al Farsi, Director of Vehicle Licensing at RTA's Licensing Agency. He explained, 'The appointment booking system has been made mandatory for all customer and vehicle categories at technical testing centres, except for vehicles registered in Dubai and owned by People of Determination and seniors, both citizens and residents. He highlighted significant strides in renewable energy solutions, cost reductions, and global expansion, aligning with Dubai and the UAE's ambitious sustainability targets. In the UAE, ENOC strengthened retail fuel infrastructure by opening nine new service stations, while Tasjeel celebrated 25 years with six new sites. The company also expanded its ENOC Link Smart Station network and received 15 awards for service excellence under its 'Think Customer' strategy.
