CM Orders Gadchiroli Airport Survey, Pushes For Timely Land Acquisition
Nagpur: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday ordered an immediate obstacle limitation surface (OLS) survey for the proposed Gadchiroli airport, directing the district collector to submit a detailed proposal. The instruction came during a high-level review meeting on land acquisition for major infrastructure projects, held in Mumbai. Fadnavis further instructed the runway at Akola Airport to be extended to 2,400m apart from envisioning a modern, large-scale terminal for the city. He emphasised the need for comprehensive planning for air connectivity in Kolhapur, Karad, Akola, Gadchiroli, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Stressing the need for strict adherence to timelines, Fadnavis said, "No project should stall due to land acquisition delays. All agencies must work in mission mode with quality and structured coordination." He cautioned that delays lead to steep cost escalations and insisted that each agency follow the pre-defined schedule meticulously. Fadnavis also reviewed the progress of multiple critical projects, including the Nagpur-Gondia, Nagpur-Chandrapur, and Bhandara-Gadchiroli expressways, directing officials to finalise their alignment using the Gati Shakti portal to ensure minimal forest land diversion. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 2 & 3 BHK Homes Near Padur, OMR Starting @ ₹72.50 Lakh* TVS Emerald Undo For the Wardha-Gadchiroli and Wardha-Nanded railway lines, the CM set a 15-day deadline to complete land acquisition. Other directives included submission of a proposal to integrate the Wadhwan-Igatpuri expressway under the Sagarmala scheme, and completion of the Selu land acquisition in Parbhani district for the Jalna-Nanded expressway within 15 days. TVS Motor rides into Indonesian EV market with locally assembled iQube
TVS Motor Company has made its entry into Indonesia's electric two-wheeler market with the launch of its flagship e-scooter, the iQube, marking a strategic move to expand its presence across Southeast Asia. The iQube will be assembled locally at TVS's East Karawang facility, allowing the company to tap into government incentives aimed at promoting domestic EV production. Bookings have opened at an introductory price of IDR 29.9 million (roughly ₹1.6 lakh), positioning the e-scooter as a competitive player in Indonesia's urban mobility segment. 'Indonesia has seen a compounded annual growth of over 100 per cent in its two-wheeler EV market over the last three years,' said James Chan, Senior Vice-President, ASEAN, TVS Motor Company. 'There's strong policy support, and consumer interest is picking up. We believe the iQube, with its proven track record and competitive pricing, fits well into this evolving landscape.' To support its rollout, TVS is building out its local sales and service infrastructure. The goal, the company says, is to deliver a seamless ownership experience from test ride to after-sales support. Globally, the iQube has already clocked over 600,000 users, a milestone that TVS believes underlines its reliability and relevance in varied market conditions. 'This launch is not just about entering a new market, it's about bringing a globally trusted product to a new audience,' said Madhu Prakash Singh, Vice President, EV International Business. The iQube is targeted at city commuters, offering a real-world range of 115 km on a single charge, a top speed of 78 kmph, and quick acceleration from 0–40 kmph in just over four seconds. As the Indonesian government continues to push for higher EV adoption and local manufacturing, TVS's early bet on localisation could give it a critical edge over import-reliant competitors, particularly as supply chain costs fluctuate and regional regulations tighten. With the iQube, TVS is betting on more than just a single product. It's placing a long-term wager on Indonesia as a key hub in its broader ASEAN growth plan.

BMW F 450 GS spotted testing. Launch expected this year
The growing demand for adventure motorcycles is compelling manufacturers to offer more and more models and create some if need be. BMW Motorrad had been offering the BMW G 310 GS in India till very recently. However, this entry-level GS has now been taken off the shelves to make way for the new BMW G 450 GS, a middleweight contender in this hot-selling segment. The company showcased a concept version of the bike recently and now the production version has been spied testing revealing details and also raising expectations towards a launch this year. Imaages are courtesy of: good news comes in the form of what Johann Simon, vehicle project manager of the Concept F 450 GS, said recently. Simon says "No compromises for sure. Following the very sporty off-road focus of the Concept F 450 GS, we will implement the bike as close as possible to this concept.' Now if we look closely at the spy shots, it is evident that the F 450 GS is not exactly the off road focused bike Simon is talking about. Rather this is a more road biased version of the bike. This means that we can expect multiple variants based on this platform. The bike seen here is the road-biased version that will take on the likes of the KTM 390 Adventure S, Royal Enfield Himalayan and also the recently launched Yezdi Adventure. The bike sports a 19inch front and 17inch rear wheel. Wheels are alloys and thus we can expect tubeless tyres as well. The vertical LED headlamps and tall screen give the bike an aggressive and true GS look. The bike is also expected to carry the same 6.5 inch colour TFT display as seen on the concept. The fuel tank is expected to hold as much as 14 litres of bike will use a steel Trellis frame and have a bolt-on subframe. Powering the bike will be a 450cc parallel twin engine tuned to offer 48bhp and 45Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed transmission. The BMW F 450 GS will be manufactured by TVS in their manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil TVS will not rebrand this motorcycle as a TVS. TVS in the meantime is preparing their own adventure class motorcycle in form of the TVS Apache RTX to Auto Today Magazine

TVS Orbiter Electric Scooter Trademarked Overseas, Will It Come To India?
TVS is planning to launch an all-new electric scooter in the global market. Recently, the two-wheeler manufacturer has filed a patent application for its upcoming entry-level 'Orbiter' electric scooter in Indonesia. Also, the name was earlier trademarked in India as well. Reports suggest that this electric scooter will be positioned below the TVS iQube, currently available in the Indian market. TVS currently offers the iQube with three variants available in the market- the iQube, iQube S, and iQube ST. It has two battery pack options, that is, a 2.2 kWh and a 3.5 kWh battery pack. The smaller battery pack is claimed to deliver 94 km of range and takes 2 hr 45 minutes to charge from 0 percent to 80 percent. The 3.5 kWh battery pack option is claimed to give 145 km of range and can charge from 0-80 percent in 4 hr 30 minutes. TVS Orbiter trademarked in Indonesia Though not much has been revealed about the TVS Orbiter, we know that the brand is likely to place it below the iQube electric scooter. Hence, it is expected to come up with a smaller battery pack option (could add a 3.5 kWh battery later). Also, the prices of the TVS iQube start from around Rs 95,000, and the Orbiter is expected to be priced at a much more affordable rate than the iQube. The trademark documents suggest that TVS has taken the Orbiter name for its electric scooter. The exact name will only be finalized as the launch gets closer. Previous reports also suggest that the Indian two-wheeler major has also filed a trademark for 'EV-one' and 'O'. Since the Orbiter nameplate has been recently trademarked, the brand has not specified any much details about its upcoming offerings. However, the new electric scooter is likely to be launched by the festival season.
