Emma Louise Connolly's beachy necklace is from brand loved by Kate Middleton
One of the easiest ways to give your outfit a holiday-ready beachy upgrade is with some shell-inspired jewellery, and Emma Louise Connolly has found the perfect one to shop With summer holidays approaching and plenty of seasonal events to choose from, it can be easy to get overwhelmed with trying to shop for a new outfit for every occasion. That's why jewellery is the perfect way to give an old dress a new look, especially when that jewellery is fun, whimsical and perfectly on trend for the summer. This season it's all about nautical seashell-inspired pieces, and model Emma Louise Connolly has found the perfect one to add to her accessory collection. Hailing from Missoma – a brand loved by none other than Kate Middleton – her Spiral Gemstone Beaded Pendant Necklace is a great balance of fun and chic, and it's an easy way to style up even the most basic outfit. Priced at £135, the necklace features a string of lab grown clear crystal quartz beads with an 18ct recycled gold-plated shell-shaped pendant. Each crystal bead is also totally unique with varying sizes and shapes just as you'd get with sourced quartz, giving you a realistic look whilst still being ultra sustainable. To make it stand out, the beads are linked together with a thick red thread which adds a little pop of colour to the necklace. For even more of a statement look, the Shell Crystal Necklace Sienna from Wolf & Badger is £160 and features bold red beads with an oversized spiral shell pendant in gold. We also spotted this Beaded Pendant Necklace for £68 at Anthologie, which has a more classic look thanks to its pearl beads. You can also choose from green or yellow beads, with each colourway featuring a different shaped summer-inspired pendant including a seashell, a starfish and sun. Those on a tight budget can also get a similar look at ASOS with its orange and gold Short Necklace With Coloured Stones And Shell Pendant which is a mere £10. Meanwhile Not on the High Street offers this stunning Rose Quartz Gemstone Gingham Necklace With Heart And Fruit Charms which ticks off two accessory trends – fruit and shells – in one for £36. However Missoma's jewellery comes with a very royal seal of approval, with Princess Kate, owning several pairs of earrings from the brand. One of her most recognisable pairs is the Zenyu Fan Chandelier Hoop Earrings, £145, which she first wore during her 2019 tour of Pakistan. She was spotted re-wearing them again in 2021 at the Royal Variety Performance, proving just how versatile they are. However if you want to nail this summer's trends, Emma Lou's Spiral Gemstone Beaded Pendant Necklace is a must-buy. Credit Union of Texas Achieves Nearly 10% Enrollment with Spiral in Just 60 Days
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Credit Union of Texas (CUTX) has always been committed to helping its members save effortlessly while giving back to their communities. For five years, CUTX's Save the Change program allowed members to round up their debit card purchases and automatically transfer the spare change into their savings accounts or make charitable contributions to the CUTX Foundation. However, the program required in-branch enrollment with limited accessibility and high internal resources. "The response from our members has been phenomenal," said Pointer. "The combination of effortless enrollment, a rewarding savings experience, and the ability to give back has made Save the Change more popular than ever." Share That all changed when CUTX partnered with Spiral to elevate the experience for members. By migrating Save the Change to Spiral's Roundup Center, CUTX members could enroll and personalize their experience seamlessly through their online banking account — anytime, anywhere. "By leveraging the innovative Spiral platform, we enhanced our Save the Change program, enabling members to track their savings in real-time and easily support meaningful local causes," said Eric Pointer, President & CEO at CUTX. "This seamless solution helps our members grow their savings while making a positive impact in the communities we serve." After migrating the program, CUTX saw an unprecedented surge in adoption and engagement, doubling the program's enrollment in just two months. Nearly 10% of CUTX's online banking members signed up through Spiral's Roundup Center within this short timeframe. Today, over 13% of members use Spiral daily, with more than 700,000 roundup transactions processed to date. The program has also driven a 53% enrollment rate through the digital widget and generated over 100 requests for new savings accounts, demonstrating strong demand and interest. The transition to Spiral not only simplified enrollment but also introduced additional features, like real-time savings tracking, an innovative user experience, and the ability for members to effortlessly support charitable causes of their choice, creating a more personalized and fulfilling experience for members. "The response from our members has been phenomenal," said Pointer. "The combination of effortless enrollment, a rewarding savings experience, and the ability to give back has made Save the Change more popular than ever. Spiral's innovation and seamless migration made this possible in record time." ‘Sats' vs ‘bits' debate reignites amid proposal to change Bitcoin base unit
A recent proposal that aims to change Bitcoin's base unit to make it easier to understand as a payment tool has run into opposition, with critics saying Bitcoin's satoshis are no more confusing than the dollar's cents. Bitcoin developer John Carvalho introduced Bitcoin Improvement Proposal-177 on April 23, which seeks to eliminate the concept of satoshis, of which there are 100,000,000 in 1 Bitcoin and effectively split Bitcoin's fixed supply of 21 million into 21 quadrillion units. It follows a 2017 proposal from Bitcoin developer Jimmy Song to create 'bits,' representing one-millionth of 1 Bitcoin. However, Carvalho said Song's approach would still require Bitcoin users to think about decimals and 'shifts complexity rather than eliminating it.' Block Inc. CEO Jack Dorsey is among those calling for the change, saying in a May 18 X post that satoshis, or sats, are too confusing for newcomers. 'Bits of Bitcoin is better, and just Bitcoin is best,' Dorsey said. Dorsey pointed to a December 2024 discussion on the topic where Stevie Lee, product lead of Bitcoin infrastructure firm Spiral, argued that not enough people know or care about what satoshis are. 'Everyone knows Bitcoin, no one knows sats, people just want to send and receive Bitcoin,' Lee said, recalling past conversations where people thought satoshis were an entirely new token, unrelated to Bitcoin. He added that the Bitcoin community shouldn't be too concerned with the change, as they know the underlying economics of Bitcoin would remain intact. Swan Bitcoin CEO Cory Klippsten and Byte Federal director of product Michelle Weekley were among those who opposed the change. 'People understand cents in a dollar, they will understand sats in a Bitcoin,' Weekley said on X. Magdalena Gronowska, a self-described Bitcoin consultant, claimed that the change could make some people think that Bitcoin abruptly crashed from its current price of around $100,000 and that its 'supply has massively inflated.' Bitcoin creator was open to the idea Robin Linus, the creator of the Bitcoin Virtual Machine (BitVM), highlighted that even Bitcoin's pseudonymous creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, was open to changing how Bitcoin's units are displayed for the purpose of usability. 'If it gets tiresome working with small numbers, we could change where the display shows the decimal point,' Satoshi said in a February 2010 post before vanishing the following year. 'Same amount of money, just different convention,' Satoshi added. The Bitcoin network hasn't implemented any improvement proposals since the Taproot upgrade in November 2021, which aimed to improve Bitcoin's speed, efficiency and privacy. Source:
