Swansea City star leaves club with immediate effect and joins Champions League side in permanent deal
Swansea City star leaves club with immediate effect and joins Champions League side in permanent deal The striker is no longer a Swansea City player Mykola Kuharevich has left Swansea City (Image: Getty ) Swansea City striker Mykola Kuharevich has joined Slovan Bratislava for an undisclosed fee. He has signed a four-year deal with the Slovakian giants, in a move that brings the curtain down on a somewhat underwhelming spell in SA1. The 23-year-old joined the Swans from French side Troyes for nearly £2m back in 2023, but struggled to establish himself in the Championship, netting one goal in just 13 appearances for the club in his opening campaign. He was then shipped out on loan to Scottish side Hibernian last season, where he'd previously enjoyed a comparatively more fruitful spell the year before his move to south Wales. The striker racked up a total of seven goals in 28 appearances in all competitions for Hibs last term, but his chances of breaking into the first team set-up at Swansea have nevertheless looked slim. Now, he could well end up playing in the Champions League with Slovan, who recently secured their 23rd league title. Article continues below Slovan's general director Ivan Kmotrik Jr said: "We watched Mykola during his time in Scotland, where he was a guest from Swansea. "We are acquiring an interesting alternative to the point of attack in him. He has played for the youth national teams, has experience in international football. "Mykola uses his physical assets, but at the same time is a technically proficient type of striker. He can bring increased competition and expanded options to the point of attack for David Strelec, from whom he is typologically a little different. "I am very happy that our negotiations have come to a successful end, and we have signed a four-year contract with Mykola." Kuharevich himself added: "I have had the best season of my career with third place in the Scottish League. "I am happy to accept a new challenge at Slovan. Article continues below "I know that I am coming to a big club, I have seen their matches in the Champions League. "I managed to see Tehelné Pole and Bratislava, the stadium and the city are beautiful. "I want to develop my strengths, score goals and be a contribution to the team. I am excited about this new chapter and I am looking forward to what lies ahead."

"I think I'll be here at the beginning of the pre-season training. "I'm pleased and flattered by the interest from abroad, but I'm primarily focused on what the reality is. I'm at home and I'm happy here. "We'll see if a good offer comes along for all parties. "I could have done better, but I think I have enjoyed this season. Celtic target makes future claim ahead of summer window
The forward was linked with a move to Celtic at the end of January. Brendan Rodgers was on the hunt for a new number nine after Kyogo Furuhashi's unexpected mid-season departure to Stade Rennais in France. Read more: Celtic ultimately didn't sign Strelec, who coincidentally played against them in the Champions League at the beginning of this season. The 24-year-old was asked if he would be happy to stay with Bratislava after their 1-0 win over FC Kosice on Saturday: "I think so," he replied [Record]. "The transfer window isn't even open yet, so it'll probably be a while. "I'm happy about it, but I'm mainly focused on reality. I'm happy at Slovan and I'm at home here. We haven't even talked about it with the management yet, we'll see how it goes. Maybe an even better offer will come." Strelec has scored 24 goals and assisted eight in 47 Slovan appearances this term. He is their top marksman. Former Parkhead favourite Lubomir Moravcik recently delivered his verdict on a potential switch: "I have no idea where he will end up but, if he does go to Celtic, I think it would be a good move for the club and the player," he told the Sunday Post. "David has the capabilities to score goals for Celtic. He knows his way to goal, for sure. He'd score a minimum 20 goals for Celtic in a season. He's a quality striker and has a presence. "He shows that every week in Slovakia. He also shows it for his country and he played very well against England in the Euros last summer."

Celtic given '20 goals a season' guarantee for striker by Hoops icon
The Slovakian striker, currently at Slovan Bratislava, piqued the interest of the Glasgow club, who had a £7 million bid turned down by his team. Strelec, who helped Slovan to the Slovakian title, has scored 24 goals this season. Despite the failed move, the 24-year-old hasn't ruled out staying at his current club. With Celtic reportedly looking to "spend big" on a striker, Strelec could remain a target. Moravcik, a fellow Slovakian and a well-respected figure at Celtic, believes Strelec would be a great addition to the club. Moravcik is confident about Strelec's capabilities and believes he could be a prolific scorer for Celtic. He added: "David has the capabilities to score goals for Celtic. Celtic 'interested' in Veljko Milosavljevic as transfer business jolts into life with Strelec confession and £11m bonus
Brendan Rodgers is planning beyond a potential Treble with a big summer of transfer deals around the corner Celtic are reportedly "very interested" in Red Star Belgrade defender Veljko Milosavljevic with the summer transfer window rapidly approaching. The Premiership champions are already looking to next season with Brendan Rodgers on the brink of leading the Hoops to a domestic Treble with Aberdeen standing in their way of a Scottish Cup triumph. Celtic have to navigate the tricky qualifying route to the Champions League next season and moves are already in motion. Max Sport state that the club are keen on a deal for the 17-year-old - but have been warned the the towering wonderkid is not for sale. However, it is noted that the Belgrade club could change their stance with clubs from France and England monitoring the sitiation. Slovan Bratislava frontman David Strelec was on the agenda going into the closing hours of the winter window but a deal could not be reached. He was rated at £9million at the time - but has left the door open to a summer move after his hat-trick against MSK Zilina in the 4-3 victory secured Slovan's seventh consecutive title. He said: "Everything is open. I'm happy here, I'm home and it's always been my dream to play for Slovan. "We'll see what the communication will be with the club in the coming period." Pressed on his goals for next season after the full-time whistle, he told Dennik Sport:"Continue to improve. "I know I can be even better physically, have even better positioning and finishing. I can improve in everything and that's what I'm going to try to do." Celtic are also set for a payday should Bayer Leverkusen cash in on Jeremie Frimpong this summer. Reports suggest that Liverpool and Manchester United are ready to battle it out for a deal in the region of €40million (£34million). Celtic hold a 30 percent sell-on fee as part of the £11million deal that allowed Frimpong to leave the club for Leverkusen back in January 2021. Former Reds star Jermaine Pennant believes that Frimpong would be the perfect replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold as he closes in a move to Real Madrid. He told "I really like (Jeremie) Frimpong, and he can play as a winger as well. I'd like to see him switch with Conor Bradley." 'With Conor you get the balance. He may not have the same passing range, vision or assist ratio as Trent, but he will give you that defensive structure. "He is probably better defensively than Trent. At the same time he can get forward to give Salah the space. "It's good that they have a player like him to take over from Trent if he leaves, but I would still like to see him go a full season without injuries.'
