Jade fans furious after she reveals Capital Summertime Ball 'banned' her new son

The IT Girl hitmaker strutted on stage for her set, which consisted of two solo tracks and a mashup of Little Mix's Shout Out to My Ex and Sweet Melody. With only three songs to play with, some cuts had to be made but Jade, 32, hinted at tension behind the scenes over which tracks would make it on stage. While being interviewed by the Summertime Ball hosts, presenter Chris Stark asked if she would be giving a 'sneaky peek' of her new song, Plastic Box. 'No, I'm not actually,' Jade carefully replied. 'But that's because you guys said no.' In the studio, her response prompted laughter from the presenters with the singer smiling and giggling; however, fans online haven't taken it so well. 'It's the fact that they used her as an opener to get 'bums on seats' and then made her do Little Mix songs for half her set. I'm glad she called them out for it,' wrote _shadesdaddy on X. 'The art of promotion is DEAD and 9 times out of 10 it's beyond the artists control,' added KoskasOwl. 'God forbid an artist tries to promote their new material… Y'all see why the charts (everywhere not just UK) are as bland and as stale as they are????' And_rew_thom said: 'This is a mess you can tell global force them to perform their hits rather than promote their new music like they are THERE TO DO. Same with Zara and I'm fumin!' Zara Larsson was also on the lineup, and fans commented that she didn't play her new song Midnight Sun either. Jade's song is due to be released on Friday, June 20, while Zara dropped her latest track days ago — before Summertime Ball. Meanwhile, KSI and Benson Boone both sang new tracks while on stage, as did fellow Little Mix star Perrie Edwards at her Jingle Bell Ball performance in December. And_rew_thom added: 'Benson Boone and KSI: 'this next song I've never played before'. JADE and Zara Larsson: 'I'm not allowed to play my new single'.' Fans have been left confused by Jade's subtle shade, wondering why the restriction was put in place at all. The clip has been shared widely online but is not viewable on Capital's Global Player, raising more eyebrows among fans. Jade then posted a snap from the ball, with only a snake emoji rather than a long caption, as she did for Mighty Hoopla and Radio 1's Big Weekend. This added to online speculation, although the Angel of My Dreams hitmaker did later share a story saying 'Thank you always' to Capital. More Trending 'My first solo Summertime Ball,' she added with heart hands and flower emojis. First, but hopefully not the last. She has previously played the show with her bandmates from Little Mix in 2016 and 2017. The group has been on hiatus for several years, following the exit of Jesy Nelson in 2020, and each has now released solo music. Metro has reached out to Jade's team and Capital for comment. JADE hints at Little Mix reunion as she wows at first solo concert at Radio 1's Big Weekend

Jade Thirlwall hinted at a Little Mix reunion while performing the girl group's 2018 hit 'Wasabi' at Radio 1's Big Weekend. The 'Angel of My Dreams' singer played her debut solo show at the youth radio station's annual gathering, which took place at Liverpool's Sefton Park this weekend. As well as doing a medley of their greatest hits - 'Shout Out to My Ex', 'Sweet Melody', 'Woman Like Me' and 'Touch' - earlier in the set on Sunday (25.05.25), while performing 2018's 'Wasabi', JADE switched the lyrics to: "I bet they gonna break up ... It's a hiatus!" The lyric swap suggests the girls - also including Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock - have plans to get back together after going on an indefinite break in 2022. JADE - who has ditched her last name for her solo career - also thanked her bandmates for getting her where she is today. She said: "Guys do you remember I was in a girl band, oh gosh you're still going, I just want to say I love the Little Mix girls with all my heart. "I'm so so grateful to the girls. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be here today on my own. So shout out Little Mix!" The set saw JADE deliver the live debut of unreleased solo song 'Plastic Box'. JADE is set to release her debut solo album, 'That's Showbiz Baby!', on September 12. Despite their huge fame and earnings, Little Mix were rocked by Jesy Nelson's decision to quit the group in December 2020. Leigh-Anne previously said the remaining three members of the band secretly sought therapy after Jesy's abrupt exit. She said in her autobiography 'Believe': 'It was a complex and painful thing to come to terms with. We all felt it, that pain and sadness. 'The whole thing felt like a weird break-up, and I wasn't prepared for it."

Little Mix star Jade announces Dublin gig at 3Olympia this year

The BRIT Award winner, who had her start with The X Factor winning girl band Little Mix, will take to the stage of the 3Olympia Theatre in Dublin on October 8. It will come just weeks after the release of her hugely anticipated debut solo album, That's Showbiz Baby!, which is set to feature collaborations with RAYE, Lostboy and others. Tickets for her Dublin gig are set to go on sale Friday 23 May at 10am from Ticketmaster, with tickets priced from €37.65. "This album has been years in the making, so I'm beyond excited that I can finally let everyone know when it's coming out,' the singer said. "I'm very proud of That's Showbiz Baby! as a body of work and can't wait to share it with the world. To be able to perform the album live later this year is also a dream come true. See you all on tour!" She was placed into girl group Little Mix after she auditioned for The X Factor in 2011, joining Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jesy Nelson, with the group going on to become the first and only girl group to ever win the UK series. The group went on hiatus in December 2021 following a hugely successful career with multiple chart-topping hits like 'Wings' and 'Shout Out to My Ex'. Jade Thirwall, who shortened her stage name to 'Jade' upon launching her solo career, won the BRIT Award for best pop act this year and performed her hit song 'Angel of My Dreams', which samples Sandie Shaw's Eurovision winning song 'Puppet on a String'. The song was named a top ten song of last year by The Guardian, DORK, Clash and NME and has accumulated over 100 million streams to date. The music video has been streamed 12 million times on YouTube, while her performance of the song at the BRIT Awards has been watched over two million times. She is set to perform at a variety of festivals this summer including Glastonbury, All Points East, Mighty Hoopla, TRNSMT and the Montreux Jazz festival in Switzerland.
