Selection Of Kampung Angkat Madani Follows ICU JPM Guidelines

KUALA LUMPUR, June 16 (Bernama) -- The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has assured that the selection of Kampung Parit Seberang in Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan, as the force's adopted village under the Kampung Angkat MADANI initiative by Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain follows the prescribed guidelines. PDRM Corporate Communications Unit spokesperson stated that the selection also complied with procedures set by the Implementation Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister's Department (ICU JPM). The spokesperson told Bernama that under the guidelines of the Satu Pemimpin Satu Kampung (One Leader One Village) (Santuni MADANI) initiative, approved in the Cabinet meeting on May 8, 2024, each leader was required to submit the name of their choice of village to the ICU JPM within two weeks. 'These leaders include members of the Cabinet, deputy ministers, ministry secretaries-general, heads of federal departments or agencies, as well as chairpersons and chief executive officers of statutory bodies, government-linked companies, and government-linked investment companies at the federal level. 'They must choose their hometowns or the place where they were raised. If they cannot meet this criterion, they may select any other suitable village,' said the spokesperson. The spokesperson elaborated that Santuni MADANI is an approach aimed at enhancing the potential of villages and the capacity of their communities through direct monitoring and engagement, identifying socioeconomic issues and the needs of residents. The spokesperson added that Razarudin had previously selected Kampung Jenal, Dabong in Kelantan, as PDRM's first adopted village, with an allocated expenditure of RM2 million, and officiated the launch on Aug 27 last year. 'The impact of the community programmes organised by PDRM has helped improve the quality of life for residents while also supporting the government's efforts in line with the force's slogan 'Ready to Serve' and the Police Day theme 'The Police and the Community Are Inseparable,'' said the spokesperson. A senior member of a political party's leadership council had accused Razarudin's decision to choose his mother's village as PDRM's adopted village under the Kampung Angkat MADANI programme of being an act of cronyism.

Yesterday, during the launch of the Kampung Angkat MADANI Community Harmony Programme, Razarudin stated that the selection of Kampung Parit Seberang was made by the Bukit Aman Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department based on its infrastructure status, which was assessed to be below 50 per cent complete, and in need of special attention.

300 Tanah Merah Students To Benefit From MRC's 'Tuisyen Pintar Santuni MADANI' Programme

TANAH MERAH, May 30 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Rubber Council (MRC) has launched the 'Tuisyen Pintar Santuni MADANI' programme aimed at benefiting 300 students, particularly from Kampung Padang Siam and Kampung Sat here. MRC chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Suparadi Md Noor said the programme is implemented under the 'Satu Pemimpin Satu Kampung' initiative, also known as Santuni MADANI. Its goal is to enhance the potential of villages and the capabilities of communities through direct monitoring and engagement, aiming to identify socioeconomic issues and local needs. "This tuition programme is a community education initiative designed to enhance academic performance among students preparing for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination, particularly those in this district. "It will run from June to November this year concurrently at Masjid Mukim Padang Siam and Sekolah Menengah Ugama (Arab) Al-Fitrah, Kampung Sat, as an intensive preparation for SPM candidates," he told Bernama after launching the programme at Masjid Mukim Padang Siam here today. Mohamad Suparadi added that the programme is structured around four core objectives that complement each other in strengthening the community education ecosystem. "First, it aims to increase access to quality education for students in need, especially those from low-income families, through the provision of intensive and structured tuition classes. "Second, the programme focuses on improving academic performance in core subjects, namely Bahasa Melayu, English, History, Mathematics, and Science. This focus was chosen due to the importance of these subjects in public exams and their relevance to students' academic future and careers," he said. He added that the initiative also aims to create synergy among parents, teachers, and students by encouraging comprehensive and collaborative support for the learning process, thereby fostering a competitive educational environment. "The final objective is to instil awareness among the community about the importance of education as a foundation for sustainable and inclusive national progress.

KWAP Extends Community Outreach With Santuni MADANI Programme In Kampung Kandis

BACHOK, May 16 (Bernama) -- Kampung Kandis here has been selected for the 'Satu Pemimpin, Satu Kampung' (Santuni MADANI) programme by the Retirement Fund Inc (KWAP), based on its social development needs and potential to empower rural communities through multi-stakeholder collaboration. Kampung Kandis is one of eight villages in Mukim Kandis, which has a total population of about 4,000 residents. Among the initial initiatives carried out under the programme was the handover of a hearse for the use of local residents, as well as the distribution of 100 MyPesara Prihatin packs containing basic necessities to government retirees, the asnaf, and the underprivileged. The hearse was donated through wakalah zakat (tithe) funds, contributed via income tithe payments by KWAP employees to the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council's Zakat Collection Centre (PPZ-MAIWP). The programme drew more than 500 local residents and featured various activities involving KWAP staff, fostering community spirit, unity and a sense of togetherness. KWAP chief executive officer Datuk Hajah Nik Amlizan Mohamed said that, in addition to social assistance, the agency planned to continue implementing the programme in stages throughout the year, involving strategic collaboration with various parties, including the Kelantan State Education Department, Bachok District Education Office, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan, non-governmental organisations and pensioner associations. 'KWAP views social responsibility as a long-term investment in national development. Such initiatives not only benefit the local community but also strengthen ties between organisations like us and the people, in support of the Malaysia MADANI spirit,' she said. Nik Amlizan also expressed appreciation for the support and cooperation of the village head and school headmasters in the Bachok district, whom she described as key drivers of the programme's success. 'It is hoped that more parties will join in such efforts for mutual benefit,' she said.

FT Department Selects Kampung Jerantut Feri As Madani Adopted Village

KUANTAN, April 27 (Bernama) -- The Federal Territories Department has selected Kampung Jerantut Feri in Jerantut as its MADANI adopted village. In a statement today, the department said the selection builds on the Santuni MADANI programme that was carried out in the village last year, to benefit approximately 4,000 residents in the area. "Last year, we installed solar lights, repainted the mosque fence, provided school supplies for more than 120 children from Tadika Perpaduan and Sekolah Kebangsaan Pedah, as well as distributed fish fry to 13 patin fish farmers," the statement read. It noted that despite several upgrades, the village needs further road maintenance and upgrades, repairs to the community hall, installation of street lights as well as a new multipurpose hall, futsal court and playground. "The Village Development and Security Committee has helped identify locations for upgrading, repairs and maintenance of existing public facilities to allow works to proceed promptly," it said. The department added that the MADANI Adopted Village engagement session held today marked a proactive step by the MADANI Government to drive holistic and continuous rural development.
