Techie's ‘remote job in India or relocate to Vietnam' dilemma splits Internet

A 25-year-old techie asked Reddit users to help them choose between a remote job in India and a higher-paying role in Vietnam, and unsurprisingly, the internet was quick to a now-viral Reddit post, the techie asked for help deciding between two job offers: one based in India, the other in broke down the details clearly, saying, 'Please help me make the final call between these 2 offers: Rs 19 LPA India - fully remote. 1 lakh joining bonus. Flexible work timings. Startup. No variable.'advertisement The second offer came with a twist. 'Rs 25 LPA Vietnam – first 6 months remote (first 3 months performance review + 3 months visa/work permit documentation). \~\$2.5k/month. 13-month salary bonus (variable). Office in HCMC / Saigon,' they said. They further mentioned being vegetarians and comfortable cooking for themselves, adding, 'Please help me decide which one to pick. Thanks.'In an edit, they clarified: 'I am 25 years old, I have 4 yoe [years of experience, I make Cloud Applications on SAP BTP. In Vietnam, my Rs 25 LPA will be subjected to a flat 20% tax.'Take a look at the post here: Social media users were quick to dive in with their takes, some practical, some personal, and some of the users made a compelling point about stepping out of one's comfort zone, saying, 'There are more language barriers within India than between India and Vietnam Just because a barrier exists doesn't mean you stay put. Barriers are meant to be overcome.'advertisementAnother user encouraged them to take the international opportunity: 'It's a once-in-a-lifetime chance. The skillset and world view I've seen in Vietnamese creators online is something I wish I had. India can sometimes feel too familiar, even when you move cities.'Several others agreed that Vietnam made better financial sense. '25 lakhs in Vietnam would feel like 30 in India. You could easily visit home twice a year, too,' a user said. Someone drew attention to the professional contrast, writing, 'You have to choose whether you want to be a big fish in a small pond or a small fish in an ocean. Tech-wise, Vietnam is still growing, but that leaves space to make an impact. India's scene is ahead but saturated.'A particular user pointed out the quality-of-life perks when they said, 'Vietnam is cheaper to live in than India. And the international exposure? Definitely a plus. Surprised so many people are still leaning towards India.'While Reddit couldn't arrive at a unanimous answer, it offered the techie a global perspective, and possibly a nudge towards the road less Watch

SAP & AWS Unveil AI Co-Innovation Program To Create Generative AI Solutions

Amazon Web Services (AWS) and SAP have announced the launch of a new AI Co-Innovation Program to help partners build generative artificial intelligence applications and agents that help customers rapidly solve real-time business challenges. Many organizations recognize generative AI's potential to transform their business, but don't know where to start. By combining advanced generative AI technologies with enterprise resource planning (ERP) data from critical systems, companies can unlock significant enterprise value: for example, optimizing delivery routes, anticipating potential impacts to supply chain operations, or developing precise financial outlooks. The AI Co-Innovation Program represents the two companies' shared vision to help partners define, build, and deploy generative AI applications tailored to their ERP workloads. The program brings together enterprise technology from SAP and generative AI services from AWS with professional expertise from both parties — including teams of AI experts, professional services consultants, and solutions architects — to help support customers in their implementation journeys. The program will include dedicated technical resources, cloud credits, and more to support the development, testing, and deployment of industry-specific applications. 'AWS and SAP's long-standing partnership has helped customers accelerate their cloud journey and unlock more value from their business data,' said Ruba Borno, vice president of Specialists and Partners at AWS. 'Our AI Co-Innovation Program is a significant next step that will give organizations the security and flexibility to build generative AI applications with Amazon Bedrock that can analyze and act on their most critical SAP data. This will help customers transform decades of business information into actionable insights while accelerating their path to becoming more agile, data-driven organizations.' 'Through the AI Co-Innovation Program with AWS, we're enabling businesses to solve their most complex operational challenges with precision and speed,' said Philipp Herzig, CTO and chief AI officer at SAP. 'By combining the power of our fully integrated platform with SAP BTP and our deep business process expertise with AWS's comprehensive generative AI capabilities, partners can now create purpose-built AI agents that solve their most pressing challenges — identifying financial anomalies in real time to automatically optimizing supply chains during disruptions.' The program also allows partners to rapidly build and scale generative AI applications using the latest generative AI tools and services from Amazon Bedrock, including large language models (LLMs) such as Amazon Nova and Anthropic Claude in AI Foundation on SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). 0 0

Capgemini, Mistral AI and SAP partner on AI for regulated sectors

Technology companies Capgemini, Mistral AI and SAP have joined forces to offer an array of artificial intelligence (AI) models for the regulated industry. Capgemini said the collaboration aims to establish a 'trusted and secure' framework for deploying bespoke AI solutions within SAP environments, with a focus on industries that face stringent data requirements, including financial services, the public sector, aerospace and defence, and energy and utilities. By combining Mistral AI's generative AI models with the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), Capgemini plans to develop low-carbon, business-ready AI use cases that are accessible and scalable. Capgemini chief strategy and development officer and group executive board member Fernando Alvarez said: 'Enterprises are increasingly turning to generative AI to enhance their resilience, streamline operations and accelerate time to value. 'As a trusted business and technology transformation partner to our clients, Capgemini is committed to helping them evolve their critical business processes through the secure and tailored application of AI.' The integration of AI, Capgemini said, will support businesses in building resilience by modelling scenarios, planning for disruptions, and responding to market shifts. It also offers a competitive edge by enabling tailored customer experiences, adaptive supply chains, and enriched digital services. However, organisations in highly regulated industries or those managing sensitive data often struggle to access these benefits due to strict compliance requirements. Addressing this, the partnership will offer secure, advanced generative AI capabilities within platforms such as the self-hosted SAP BTP. As part of the initiative, Capgemini will offer over 50 pre-designed, industry-specific AI applications, built with Mistral AI's models and certified by SAP. These solutions are designed to align with responsible AI principles, ensuring data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance. Mistral AI executive board member and global head of revenue Marjorie Janiewicz said: 'By combining our frontier, multilingual and highly customisable AI models with Capgemini's expertise in delivering real world industry-specific generative AI solutions, and the assurance of SAP's robust technology platform, we are making the effective integration of AI more accessible for all organisations, including those in highly regulated industries.' Earlier this month, Mistral AI launched Le Chat Enterprise, an enterprise-focused AI assistant. Le Chat Enterprise, equipped with the Mistral Medium 3 model, addresses enterprise AI challenges such as tool fragmentation, insecure knowledge integration, rigid models, and slow ROI. "Capgemini, Mistral AI and SAP partner on AI for regulated sectors " was originally created and published by Verdict, a GlobalData owned brand.
