Rs 140.07 Crores Credited Under Rythu Bharosa Scheme to Support 1.35 Lakh Farmers in Jogulamba Gadwal
Gadwal: District Collector B.M. Santosh announced that financial aid amounting to ₹140.07 crores has been directly deposited into the bank accounts of small and marginal farmers across Jogulamba Gadwal district under the Rythu Bharosa (Farmer Investment Support) Scheme, ahead of the upcoming Vanakalam (Kharif) crop season. In an official statement, the Collector emphasized that the scheme, being implemented by the state government with the goal of farmer welfare and development, is significantly reducing the investment burden on farmers. As of Thursday evening (June 19, 2025), financial assistance has been disbursed to 1,35,024 farmers owning up to four acres of land. 'This timely deposit enables farmers to procure seeds, fertilizers, and pay labor charges without delay,' the Collector stated, underlining the importance of early support in ensuring smooth agricultural operations. The process involved accurate registration of farmers' bank account details and land information on the Rythu Bharosa portal by officials from the Agriculture Extension Department. The funds were released to eligible farmers based on this verified data. He assured that the remaining farmers will also receive the financial assistance soon. Collector Santosh highlighted that this scheme is not only providing economic relief but also enhancing mental stability among farmers. 'Providing assistance before the sowing season prevents farmers from falling into the trap of debts and allows them to begin cultivation with confidence,' he added. The Collector affirmed that the government's support extends to every acre of cultivable land, reflecting its commitment to stand by the farmers at every step. 'This is more than just a financial transaction — it is a testament to the trust and dedication the government holds toward our farmers,' he remarked. The Rythu Bharosa Scheme is increasingly being seen as a transformative initiative, aiming to boost agricultural productivity and empower rural communities by ensuring that small and marginal farmers receive necessary input support right when it is needed the most.

Farmers left high and dry as confusion prevails over Rythu Bharosa arrears
HYDERABAD: Even as the state government started disbursal of Rythu Bharosa amounts for the current Kharif season, confusion and concerns continue to prevail among farmers over the status of pending arrears from the previous agricultural season. The disbursement process, which began this week, marks the continuation of the state's flagship crop input subsidy scheme aimed at easing the financial burden on cultivators. Sources privy to the matter informed TNIE that the state government is of the opinion that there is no point in providing input subsidy for the crop season that has already ended. The government has not made an announcement on whether or not it would credit the Rythu Bharosa arrears into the accounts of farmers. It is pertinent to note that the input subsidy was credited only to farmers owning up to four acres of land during the previous season. Farmers holding more than four acres were not extended the monetary benefit for reasons best known to the government.

Hyderabad govt rolls out Rythu Bharosa scheme; non-arable land excluded from benefits and Rs 2,349 crore disbursed
HYDERABAD: The Congress govt has clarified that the removal of nearly 2.95 lakh acres from the Rythu Bharosa scheme was due to ineligibility, and not any imposed acreage cap. The state govt launched the ambitious farmer support scheme on Monday without restricting landholding size. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Instead, the only criterion was that the land had to be arable. Non-arable parcels - such as roads, rocky terrain, real estate plots, or land left uncultivated for over four years - were excluded. This rationalisation helped the govt save approximately 170 crore. Senior officials said that even if land isn't currently under cultivation, as long as it is suitable for agriculture, it qualifies for benefits. Moreover, land that can be developed into arable plots will be considered for support in that season itself, making the exempted acreage dynamic across seasons. Earlier speculation suggested the govt might cap benefits to landholdings of up to 10 acres. However, this did not materialise. "We prioritised the core principle - supporting those with land suitable for agriculture," said officials. Farmers who recently received pattas (land titles) have been given until June 20 to apply. On the second day of disbursement, agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao announced that 1,551 crore had already been transferred to 10.45 lakh small farmers with up to three acres. He assured that all eligible farmers - regardless of land size - would receive their share shortly, and no one would be left out. Funds are being directly credited into bank accounts, avoiding any transaction issues. Chief minister A Revanth Reddy kicked off the scheme on Monday by crediting 6,000 per acre into the accounts of farmers owning up to two acres. So far, 2,349.83 crore has been distributed for 39.16 lakh acres, covering 41.25 lakh farmers. The total outlay for the nine-day rollout stands at 9,000 crore.

‘Lofty words, little action': Telangana BJP takes aim at Revanth govt.'s performance over unfulfilled promises
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy either step down or delegate leadership to someone within the Congress who is capable of fulfilling pre-poll promises made to the people of Telangana. The BJP argued that voters had chosen the Congress based on its guarantees, many of which are now being abandoned. On Tuesday, BJP chief spokesperson N.V. Subash said the CM's repeated claims of financial strain expose his inability to govern effectively. 'Before the elections, Mr. Reddy claimed that his party had economic experts who would guide the State out of financial trouble. Where are those experts now? Why does the Chief Minister keep saying there is no money to implement key schemes like Mahalakshmi or Rythu Bharosa,' he asked. added that blaming the previous Bharat Rashtra Samiti government and former Chief Minister Rao for unpaid bills and accumulating debt is merely an 'excuse' to mask the Congress government's 'non-performance'. 'If they were not ready with a plan, why did they make such lofty promises in the first place,' he questioned. In a separate press conference, Nizamabad Urban MLA Dhanpal Satyanarayana and ST Morcha president accused the Revanth Reddy-led government of betraying every section of society. Except for the free bus travel for women, they pointed out, none of the Congress' pre-election guarantees have been implemented so far. They questioned the government's silence on key promises such as enhanced financial assistance to farmers, including tenant farmers, monthly stipends for the unemployed, distribution of scooters to girl students, and the release of a job calendar for youth. The leaders also criticised the sluggish pace of the Indiramma housing scheme for the weaker sections and the lack of clarity on issuing new ration cards. They demanded that pending payments under the Aarogyasri health scheme be cleared immediately. Given these widespread failures, they said, the government lacks the moral authority to face the public in the upcoming local body elections. The State unit of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) staged a protest on Tuesday in front of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education, demanding that engineering admissions be conducted strictly based on merit and rank, without any form of donation. Led by BJYM president S. Mahender, the protesters urged the government to take strict action against private colleges that flout admission norms. They also called for the immediate implementation of the fee reimbursement scheme.
