This wildly popular pizza restaurant from Kendall is coming to South Miami

Kendall's favorite pizza spot is planning to pop up in South Miami. Known for its Detroit-style pies with a crispy, airy crust, Vice City Pizza is taking over the restaurant Bar Bella in South Miami for a summer residency. Starting Saturday, June 14, at Bar Bella, you'll be able to order the square-cut pizzas from Chef Carlos Estarita, which are made with Vice City's special two-day fermented dough. You can order a simple square of cheese or sausage, of course, but Vice City is best known for its special pizzas, including the Roni & Hot Honey (pepperoni and Mike's Hot Honey); the Brie and Fig (mozzarella, brie, gorgonzola, caramelized onion, pistachio and fig jam) and the Ron Swanson (bacon, pepperoni, fennel sausage, banana peppers and Mike's Hot Honey), named for everybody's favorite carnivore on the TV series 'Parks and Recreation.' The Bar Bella menu, which featured tapas and barbecue items, will not be available throughout the residency. But the restaurant's back bar Abi Maria, named for owner Jorgie Ramos' old spot in Downtown Dadeland that closed in 2023, is bringing back its bites menu. You'll find choices like cured meats and cheeses, chicken wings and small plates like calamari, truffle tots, Bolognese arancini and proscuitto croquetas. Ramos, who co-owns Vice City Pizza with Estarita and is also the owner of Cebada Rooftop in Coral Gables, opened Bar Bella in late 2024 in the former space of Taco Craft. Now located at 2615 SW 147th Ave., Vice City Pizza came to life as a pandemic pop up (the original Abi Maria was one of the first places the popular pizzas were served). Estarita quickly became known for making all sorts of nontraditional pies, like La Colombiana, with Colombian hot dog slices, homemade pineapple jam, garlic cilantro sauce, bacon and black forest ham or El Cubiche, with caja china pork, confit garlic and onions and mojo aioli. If South Miami is as booming as Ramos believes, Vice City should fit in nicely. 'All the elements of this neighborhood are ready to explode,' Ramos told the Miami Herald earlier this year. 'Going out two blocks from your home and having good food and drinks and not worrying about parking is great. . . . South Miami is what the Grove used to be. It's surrounded by great neighborhoods and people desperate to stay close to home.' The Vice City residency is scheduled to run through September. Vice City Pizza at Bar Bella Where: 5829 SW 73rd St., South Miami Starting: June 14 Hours: 5 p.m. midnight Wednesday-Thursday; 5 p.m.-1 a.m. Friday-Saturday; 5-10 p.m. Sunday; lunch hours on Saturday and Sunday starting in a few weeks More information: @barabimaria on Instagram

Nick Offerman slams homophobic Ron Swanson meme: 'Ron was best man at a gay wedding'

Nick Offerman slams homophobic Ron Swanson meme: 'Ron was best man at a gay wedding' Show Caption Hide Caption 'Mission: Impossible 8': Tom Cruise saves day at sea and in skies Superspy Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) needs to stop a rogue AI from taking over the world in "Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning." Nick Offerman has no time for homophobic Ron Swanson memes. The actor, 54, took to X to call out a post from Michael Flynn Jr., son of former national security advisor Michael Flynn, that used his "Parks and Recreation" character to express opposition to Pride Month. Flynn's post included a clip of Ron Swanson throwing a computer in the trash, but with a rainbow flag superimposed over the computer. "Just wanted to post how I feel about 'pride' month," Flynn wrote. In response, Offerman slammed Flynn as "dumb," while pointing out that Ron Swanson "was best man at a gay wedding." The Emmy-winning actor added, "#HappyPride." In the series finale of "Parks and Recreation," which aired in 2015, Ron serves as best man in his hairdresser Typhoon's (Rodney To) wedding to Craig (Billy Eichner). An earlier episode had shown that Ron took an instant liking to Typhoon after being introduced to him by his colleague Donna (Retta). Nick Offerman slams 'homophobic hate' for his 'Last of Us' episode This isn't Offerman's first time calling out homophobia. In 2023, the "Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning" actor starred in an acclaimed episode of "The Last of Us" as Bill, a gruff survivalist who falls in love with Frank, played by Murray Bartlett. Speaking with i News, Offerman shared that he received "a lot of homophobic hate" about the episode via social media, despite critics hailing it as a highlight of the season. "I was kinda fascinated by how openly people will express hate and brand themselves as bigots," he told the outlet. "I kept thinking: 'We can see you!'" Nick Offerman gets philosophical on Mother Nature in new book: 'We're all the same batch of molecules' When Offerman won a Film Independent Spirit Award for the role in 2024, he called out this homophobic hate in his speech. "When homophobic hate comes my way and says, 'Why did you have to make it a gay story?' we say, 'Because you ask questions like that,'" he said, adding, "It's not a gay story, it's a love story."

Nick Offerman Called Out A Homophobic Internet Troll Who Dared To Use A Ron Swanson GIF In An Anti-Pride Tweet

It's Pride month!!! Now, for most everyone, it's a joyful time of year — full of celebration, love, and being unapologetically oneself. It's also a time for LGBTQIA+ people and allies to come together, honor history, and have some serious fun. But like clockwork, as soon as the clock strikes 12:00 a.m. on June 1st, the right-wing outrage machines kick into overdrive. Case in point: this tweet from Michael Flynn Jr. (if that name sounds familiar, it's because he is the son of far-right conspiracy theorist Michael Flynn), who, yesterday, used a photoshopped GIF of Parks and Rec's Ron Swanson throwing away a Pride flag to show on X (formerly Twitter) that he is having a hissy fit (someone grab this snowflake a fainting chair!) because it's Pride: NBC / Via Twitter: @realmflynnJR Now, like I mentioned, this is photoshopped, as in the scene — which has become a popular meme — Ron was throwing away his computer. Well, earlier today, Ron Swanson himself, Nick Offerman (who is a huge ally of the LGBTQIA+ community), clapped back at Flynn Jr. by calling him a dumb fuck and pointing out that Ron was not a homophobe: NBC / Via Twitter: @Nick_Offerman Nick even pointed out that Ron was the best man at Typhoon and Craig's wedding in the series finale. Why Short Time Procrastinating at Work Is Beneficial

To those working people, it's understandable that every day gets a little challenging to juggle tasks, reply to emails, avoid conflicts, and be productive. Who hasn't had the thought of quitting and leaving everything in the middle of a workday? Guilty as charged, we all have wanted to throw our computers in the trash like Ron Swanson or quit elegantly like Andy from The Devil Wears Parada, but as liberating as it is (especially if you want to quit from a toxic work environment) our thoughts to quit sometimes come from being exhausting and not having the time to relax or take your mind off. The sad reality about work is that it doesn't stop if you're tired, depressed, or ill, as clients have businesses to run, and customers are in a rush for their needs to be met. So you resort to procrastination, which comes in various forms, like watching Tiktoks, putting on perfume, extending your lunch break time, checking out other departments, and joking with your coworkers…etc. These semi-short procrastination periods that you take are beneficial to you, and you shouldn't feel bad for shutting down your brain when feeling like it, sure, things can seem like they're on fire but if you act stressful in times of need, it will backfire, so it's better for you to slack it off. You might not be convinced yet, because in your mind you're wondering, how procrastination (the absolute enemy of productivity) the trait every employer sees as a red flag, is good, well, allow us to explain how being a procrastinator is actually good in the workplace. Procrastinating Can Lead to Less Caring Clickbaity title but please bear with us. When we say less caring, we don't mean that you stop working and ignore your responsibilities, what we are saying is that procrastinating just for a little while helps you not jump into a stressful mind and live constantly on anxiety and worrying about work and unfinished tasks. Take a breather, relax, and let things be. Procrastinating Works on Boosting Mood Leaving your desk for a while to 'annoy' your coworker, making reels together, ordering lunch, or even catching up on your favorite show is such a relief. Work demands a level of stability, focus, and restraint that only happens when you're in a good state of mind, so by taking some time off and embracing that procrastinator side just a bit, you will be calmer. Self Care, Physical and Mental is Induced Small steps of self-care during work like reapplying hand cream, taking too much time in the bathroom fixing makeup, going for a walk, and enjoying the sun, are crucial to improving physical and mental health. Self-care practices improve health and well-being by creating a good setting. Despite hectic work schedules, these times prioritize requirements, offer physical advantages, and promote introspection, enabling us to maintain a connection with our inner selves.
