WWE icon, 76, flooded with support from fans after revealing cancer update

WWE legend Ric Flair has informed fans that he must scrap a scheduled meet and greet due to 'health issues'. The 76-year-old retired wrestler was inundated with supportive messages after sharing the update, having announced earlier this month that he had skin cancer. Flair, whose real name is Richard Morgan Fliehr, said at the time that this is his second skin cancer diagnosis in three years. He started undergoing treatment last week. Now, the Memphis-born star has explained that his poor health means he cannot meet his supporters as planned tomorrow. He was due to host the meet-and-greet event at a Mississippi wellness clinic. Taking to Instagram, where he boasts 2.5million followers, he wrote: 'To All My Dear Friends And Fans- I Am So Sorry, That I Will Not Be Able To See You Tuesday. I Have Health Issues, That I Need To Attend To. As I Have Procrastinated Putting My Health First In The Past. Melanoma, I Have Found Out, Is Nothing To Play With. I Promise To See You ASAP. Please Continue To Love Ric Flair Drip, As @ricflairdrip Loves You [sic]'. The WWE Hall of Famer soon had his fans wishing him well in the comments, assuring him that they understand his 'health comes first'. 'God bless you Ric. We love you. ❤️', commented @elainahubble. @chrisbeepz added: 'take it easy legend 🙏🏽'. 'We love you Ric health comes first ❤️', wrote @mayne_dan. The 16-time WWE champ initially denied his cancer diagnosis on X in a bid to keep it private. However, once he felt ready, he confirmed it to People. 'It's the second time in three years that I've been dealing with skin cancer,' he told the outlet. 'I will be undergoing treatment next week.' He also thanked people for their well wishes, adding: 'Appreciate the concerns!' Flair's health woes have been well documented in recent years. In August 2017, he was hospitalised with stomach pains. A few hours later, he was in the early stages of kidney failure. Widely regarded as one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time, Flair was also close to congestive heart failure. His loved ones were prepared for the worst, as doctors informed them he only had a 20% likelihood of survival, having put him into a medically induced coma, where he remained for 11 days. Flair had a pacemaker fitted and part of his bowel removed. Speaking to People a month after the ordeal, he admitted just how bad it got. 'I crashed in an aeroplane and broke my back; I've been hit by lightning, but this is totally different,' he confessed. 'Anything I've been through before is nothing like this.' Throughout it all was his partner, Wendy Barlow. They were together for 13 years before parting ways in September 2024. However, Flair still cherishes how she cared for him, writing in a social media statement at the time their split became public: 'I'll Never Ever Be Able To Thank Her Enough For Standing By My Side Through My Terrible Health Crisis In 2017.' 'She Never Left My Side! And For That I Will Always Be Grateful! [sic]', he added. Alas, his battles continued in 2019 when Flair was rushed to the Atlanta hospital emergency room after suffering a 'very serious' medical emergency. He went on to have heart surgery once again. Flair's heart problems can be attributed to alcohol abuse, which he discussed in his book, Ric Flair: To Be the Man. He shared that he suffered from alcoholic cardiomyopathy, which is a cardiac disease caused by chronic alcohol consumption 'I had one vice,' Flair told Sports Illustrated in 2017. 'I'm not going to point my finger at anybody else. My vice was drinking. 'I didn't have any pain issues, addiction problems, marijuana, cocaine, nothing like that. It's a fact that I kept myself up all night and always had a good time.' More Trending Flair's wrestling career spanned 50 years before he retired in 2022. The 'Nature Boy' won numerous titles and was named Wrestler of the Year on several occasions. In his 2022 Peacock documentary Woooooo! Becoming Ric Flair, then-wife Barlow said that Flair seemed to rely on his WWE persona to help him through tough times. 'I don't know how he survived,' she said. 'What he did was go back into Ric Flair, to be a character so he didn't have to feel.' If you or someone you care about has been diagnosed with cancer, Macmillan can offer support and information. Bonus: They're also good for taming pantry chaos! Look. I know I write about these things all the time, but I will sing the praises of fridge organizer bins until the day I die. I, in fact, have a four-bin set like this one; I acquired them a few years ago, and now I will not stock my fridge without them. The two larger ones go on the bottom shelf, where they hold things like bundles of fresh herbs and leafy greens; stacked on top of each other, they make excellent use of the bottom shelf's vertical space that might otherwise be wasted. Then the two smaller ones go side-by-side on the top shelf, so I never have to guess where my Better Than Bouillon or pickled jalapenos went. I love them so much, friends. They bring so much joy and order into my life. Fridge bins 4 life!Promising review: 'This was perfect for our pantry! The kids have their snacks organized, and I no longer have to open the pantry and realize a box of snacks was empty... love these!' —SherylPrice: $23.99 A pull-down faucet for your kitchen sink that'll make convincing yourself to do your dishes way easier. Heck, the two spray settings, a ton of extra height, and its ultra-snazzy appearance might make you even want to do the aforementioned dishes, just so you have an excuse to use your super cool new faucet. Promising review: 'Excellent faucet! Love its design, and it looks and works very well. Cannot be happier with this purchase. Highly recommend to anyone who is renovating their kitchen and wants a modern look and well-functioning faucet.' —EllenPrice: $197.94+ (originally $560+; available in three colors) A stainless steel, double-walled French press, so you can up your home coffee game in a significant, I-absolutely-know-the-difference-between-single-origin-and-blends way. French presses are super easy to use — measure and grind your beans, add your water, stir, wait four minutes, then plunge and enjoy — but this French press from Bodum has the added benefit of being insulated, so each and every drop will stay nice and warm until you're ready to drink it. Promising review: ' My favorite! I use this French press every single day, now. It keeps coffee hot during the four-minute brew process. I use one tablespoon fresh course ground coffee per five ounces of hot water. Perfect cup every time. Love it! Worth the price if you are a coffee lover.' —JanePrice: $49.99 (originally $108.75) Plus, an automatic milk warmer and frother that'll let you latte-all-day with the best of them this year. Why settle for just pouring regular ol' milk in your coffee when you could whip yourself up a fancy-schmancy café-style drink whenever you like? Your favorite coffee mug won't know what hit it. Promising review: 'Totally worth the price! Takes approx. 2 mins to fully froth and is fairly silent. Works perfectly with almond milk creamer and skim milk.' —SarahPrice: $59.95 (originally $75) And lastly, a fancy toaster oven with an air fryer function, because hey, guess what? Your leftovers do not have to be soggy when you heat them back up! Your dino chicken nuggets do not have to be weirdly soft instead of nice and crispy! Your Brussels sprouts do not have to be gross and mushy! And since this option from Cuisinart is not just easy to use, but also easy to clean up, it may just become the single most-used appliance in your kitchen. My household recently replaced our agéd, extremely-not-great toaster oven (seriously, we had to rotate our toast at least twice during the toasting process in order to end up with something vaguely resembling even, all-over browning) with this exact model and friends — it is LIFE CHANGING. Not only does it, y'know, toast things nice and evenly, but it also has been a game-changer for heating up all kinds of things — a serious improvement over our previous example: I made a sheet pan phyllo pastry slab pie sort of situation that resulted in tons of leftovers. Reheating slices of this thing in the microwave works, of course, but it ends up all soggy — not crispy and flaky, the way phyllo should when I popped a couple of slices in this toaster oven, set to air fry? They crisped right back up. Honestly, it was as if I'd just pulled them out of the oven after the initial bake. A+, no notes. Yes, it is an investment. But y'all. It is 100% worth saving up for if you can swing it. I review: 'Love this toaster oven. It is made well and works beautifully whether I'm baking, toasting, or air frying. Leftovers taste better in this oven!' —LindaPrice: $219.95 (originally $330; available in three colors)

General Hospital Recap: Laura Finds Money Missing From Ace's Trust

General Hospital Recap: Laura Finds Money Missing From Ace's Trust originally appeared on Daytime Confidential. On today's General Hospital recap: Ric checks in on Liz and they discuss the Nurses Ball. Laura stops by, surprised to see Ric, but Liz reassures her. Laura thinks Ric has been keeping tabs on Liz and knows Lucky's coming and going. Liz swears she's set boundaries with Ric but his presence still upsets Lucky. Laura is certain Lucky never fell out of love and is happy they're back together. Liz says she's not sure if it's enough, if they can make it work. Laura hopes Lucky is happy here but wants them to figure out what's right for them. Alexis has a meeting with Lucky and Kristina to discuss the night her daughter tried to kill Ava. She says if the police investigate, Kristina will go to prison, and she wants all the details. Kristina explains about being at the scene and while she was in the background, Lucky points out the police's body cam might show her there. Kristina says she told Dante that she saw the smashed up car. Lucky says the only thing incriminating Kristina is the car and thought she was in the clear when the mechanic told him the car was gone. Kristina asks if Alexis can see a way out of this. Alexis says the problem is the car since there is proof that the brake lines were cut and Ava and Ric have the upper hand. Alexis thinks maybe she can get them to turn on each other and warns Kristina to stop being impulsive. Carly tells Curtis that the custody hearing is starting today (is it June 2nd already?!!) and would like Curtis' help. Carly says Drillow are accusing Michael of abandonment (and asks him to have Aurora remind the public that Drew is a con artist which might sway the jury in Michael's favour. Curtis says he can't do it because it could backfire. He says Michael is the majority shareholder and Drew could end up looking like a victim. Curtis says he's working on something else. Curtis tells Portia that he can't help Carly because of Drew's blackmail over her. Portia tells him about Jacinda but doesn't think Drew can track her down. She questions why Tracy was arrested for drugging Drew and Curtis figures he planted the ketamine. Portia says there is no evidence of her involvement, because the ketamine would get traced to Brad. He wonders if Ric knows about the paternity, but Sasha doesn't think so. Sasha wonders if she'd told Michael about the fourth of July kiss, if he could have worked it out with Willow and not gotten to this point. Michael says he was desperate to make Willow happy and never got to know the real her. Nina tells Ava that she got information that would help Willow get full custody but doesn't want to use it. Nina tells her about figuring out that Michael is Sasha's baby daddy and Ava wonders why Nina hasn't told Willow. Nina says she loves Sasha and exposing her baby daddy would be a betrayal. Nina also believes that if Willow gets full custody, she'll never leave Drew. She says Drew wants to bring the kids and Willow to DC and she'll lose them. Nina thinks it's better off if Willow doesn't get full custody. Ava tells her to do what she can live with. Lois says Camella just wanted to raise Gio and Lois found a good family for him. Brook Lynn says she asked for a closed adoption and instead grew up living down the street from Gio and interacting with him. Lois says she didn't want to send the baby away and could keep an eye on him. Brook Lynn says she was an adult when Camilla died but Lois says she couldn't add to Gio's grief by telling him then. Lois says she gave Brook Lynn her freedom which was the right thing to do. She says Brook Lynn would be a different person now had she been told about Gio after Camilla died. Brook Lynn is angry Lois made the decisions and can't help Gio through this because he doesn't trust her. Brook Lynn says Gio doesn't want anything to do with her, and she doesn't want anything to do with Lois, as Gloria shows up and chastises her. Laura tells Alexis she was looking over Ace's trust and there seems to be money missing. Lucky tells Liz he knows more about her car accident that he let on.
