David Beckham's tribute to Prince William as Brooklyn gets closer to Harry and Meghan

David Beckham paid tribute to the Prince of Wales on his 43rd birthday. Fresh from his good news last week on his long-awaited knighthood, David Beckham is keeping in close contact with his friends in the Royal Family. The football star joined a host of tributes to Prince William as he celebrated his 43rd birthday today (Saturday, June 21). Becks took to his Instagram stories to share two heartfelt posts to congratulate the Prince of Wales. The dad of four shared a snap of him and the royal as they laughed together at an event with a caption: 'Happy Birthday Prince William,' adding a kiss emoji to boot. Beckham then posted another picture, this time of him shaking William's hand, with another 'Happy Birthday' caption followed by a love heart emoji. ‌ Beckham's warm wishes for the prince were extended to wife Kate Middleton as the former Manchester United star tagged the official Prince and Princess of Wales account. ‌ Earlier this month David was finally honoured with a knighthood for his services to sport and charity. His good news came amid the kind of family drama his friend William can relate to, after ongoing reports about a rift between David, Victoria and their eldest son Brooklyn, 26, and wife Nicola Peltz. Tensions were only thought to have been made worse last month when Brooklyn and Nicola, 30, were spotted socialising with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The pair, who have just bought their first permanent home together in Los Angeles, were then reported to have met up with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at their mansion in Montecito, California. According to Mail Online, the two women engaged in a "deep and meaningful" chat and shared a bond after both being branded 'homewreckers' who 'tear apart" their husbands' families. ‌ The couple's decision to rub shoulders with Harry and Meghan, who are also embroiled in a high-profile feud with the Royal Family, has sparked comparisons between the two couples. David and Victoria have been 'blindsided' by the developing relationship, according to the Sun. As we reported previously, they were thought to have been friends with the Sussexes until a row where Meghan allegedly claimed Victoria had been leaking stories about her to the press. ‌ Meghan accused Victoria of 'indiscretion' - resulting in a tense phone call between Prince Harry and David. In his book Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors, Tom Bower said: "Harry's instability fed Meghan's fears that friends were leaking stories to the media. In particular, she suspected Victoria Beckham of indiscretion. ‌ "Harry called David Beckham to repeat the accusation. Outraged, Beckham's truthful denials damaged their relationship." The Beckhams have reportedly been struggling to cope with the strained relationship with their eldest son, which was further exacerbated by Brooklyn's decision to skip his father's 50th birthday celebrations, leaving David "devastated". Prince Harry Was Reportedly Left 'Disappointed' By Princess Diana's Sisters' Perception Of Meghan Markle

Prince Harry never got to introduce Meghan Markle to his mother, Princess Diana, but he believes she would've loved Meghan. However, Diana's siblings, especially Earl Spencer, were said to be cautious and advised the Duke of Sussex not to rush the marriage, which reportedly caused tension. According to a book by royal author Tom Bower, Prince Harry was also left "disappointed" with Princess Diana's sisters' reaction to Meghan Markle. Harry's introduction of Meghan to his mother's side of the family reportedly didn't go as he had planned. Without the chance to seek his late mother's blessing, the Duke of Sussex turned to his maternal aunts in 2017 to introduce them to the former actress. Diana, remembered for her warmth and compassion, was especially close to her younger brother Charles Spencer, though she also shared a bond with her two older sisters, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes. In an interview with the BBC, Harry expressed his belief that Diana would have been "over the moon" about his relationship with Meghan. He said, "I think she would be over the moon, jumping up and down, so excited for me, but then, as I said, she would have probably been best friends – best friends with Meghan." Despite Harry's hopes, it's been suggested that not all of Diana's sisters shared the same enthusiasm about his marriage. In his revealing book "Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between the Windsors," royal biographer Tom Bower detailed a tense meeting between the prince and members of Diana's family. According to Bower, "Harry assumed that Diana's family and friends would see a similarity between Diana and his fiancée." However, Harry was reportedly "so disappointed" when Diana's family disagreed. "No one agreed that his vulnerable mother had anything in common with his girlfriend," Bower noted, per the Daily Mail. "More discomforting for him, they thought Meghan would not fit in with the Royal Family." Though Diana's sisters didn't directly challenge the relationship, it was her brother, Charles, who voiced concerns. Drawing from his own experiences, the Earl of Spencer advised Harry to avoid rushing into marriage. "His advice provoked a bitter reaction," Bower wrote. "This was going to be really hard, Harry would later reflect on establishing Meghan's place in the family." Despite skepticism from some family members, Harry has remained steadfast in comparing Meghan to his late mother. In the 2022 Netflix docuseries "Harry & Meghan," he shared, "So much of what Meghan is and how she is, is so similar to my mum." "She has the same compassion, the same empathy, the same confidence. She has this warmth about her," Harry added, per reports. During their 2017 engagement interview, Meghan reflected on meeting Diana's sisters, saying: "I think in being able to meet his aunts, I'm able to, in some way, know a part of her through them and of course through him. And it's - it's incredibly special." In 2019, Harry's aunt, Lady Fellowes, was among the very first to visit and meet baby Archie, arriving even before senior royals like the then-Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, Prince William, and Kate Middleton. Despite Harry and William no longer on speaking terms, their aunts and uncles have remained present in both their lives, showing up for key milestones. All three women, Lady McCorquodale, Lady Fellowes, and Earl Spencer, attended the brothers' weddings and were among the select guests at Archie's christening in 2019. Earl Spencer has also publicly stood by Harry, voicing his support during the prince's legal battles. Most recently, Lady Jane and Earl Spencer were seen backing Harry at his Invictus event at St. Paul's Cathedral. However, to long-time royal observers, Harry's growing closeness to his mother's side of the family feels inevitable, given his strained ties with the royal household. Tensions between the Spencers and the Windsors trace back to Diana's tumultuous time in the monarchy. The rift became unmistakably public at Diana's 1997 funeral, when her brother, Earl Spencer, delivered a powerful eulogy. While honoring his sister, he criticized both the media and the royal family, promising to help raise William and Harry outside the confines of rigid tradition. Accrording to the Daily Mail, the Earl said: "Beyond that, on behalf of your mother and sisters, I pledge that we, your blood family, will do all we can to continue the imaginative way in which you were steering these two exceptional young men so that their souls are not simply immersed by duty and tradition but can sing openly as you planned."

Prince Harry Is ‘So Disappointed' by Princess Diana's Sisters After He Was Accused of ‘Betraying' the Royal Family

The British royal family is living complicated days. King Charles is very ill with cancer, with rumors that succession planning is already underway. Prince William and Kate Middleton are already preparing for the next stage and taking on added responsibilities. And then there's Prince Harry's most recent BBC interview, where he suggested he was looking for a reconciliation with his father. His relationship with Prince William isn't any better. And on top of that, new intimate details about the family keep resurfacing. The latter is, perhaps, impossible to control. Being royalty is living in the spotlight, and that part is to be expected. But a new book Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between the Windsors written by royal biographer Tom Bower is, perhaps, shedding more light on some of the royal dynamics than we're usually used to. And one of the things Bower discussed in his new book is the reaction of Princess Diana's sisters to Meghan Markle, which reportedly wasn't what Prince Harry expected. 'Harry assumed that Diana's family and friends would see a similarity between Diana and his fiancée. Both, he said, shared the same problems. He was so disappointed,' the book claims. Despite Harry being convinced that Princess Diana would be 'over the moon' at his choice of bride, her sisters, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes, reportedly did not agree. In fact, according to the book, they thought Meghan would not fit in. 'No one agreed that his vulnerable mother had anything in common with his girlfriend. More discomforting for him, they thought Meghan would not fit in with the Royal Family.' This did not discourage Prince Harry, who would go on to marry Meghan. The couple now shares two children. Harry would go on to discuss what he saw as his wife's similarities to his late mother in a 2022 Netflix documentary, saying, 'So much of what Meghan is and how she is, is so similar to my mum. She has the same compassion, the same empathy, the same confidence. She has this warmth about her.' Bower's words come at a difficult time, as there have been reports that Prince William would strip Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of their titles as soon as he ascended to the throne. 'It's no secret William wants Harry more harshly dealt with. He thinks he has betrayed the family from top to bottom, which is the ultimate Windsor crime. It wouldn't take much to provoke him to flex his muscles when he is king,' a palace insider told The Daily Beast. As always with the royal family, that's not the end of the story. Recent reports have indicated Kate Middleton has been pushing for a reconciliation between the brothers and that King Charles might be ready to meet with his son, with whom he is currently not on speaking terms. All of this comes after Harry's interview, which reportedly angered the family, but in which he made clear he wants a reconciliation. Whether that's in the cards or not, and whether this family can stop being fractured anytime soon, remains to be seen. Prince Harry 'Deeply Upset' by Princess Diana's Sisters' Reaction to Wife Meghan Markle: Report

Prince Harry was left 'so disappointed' after introducing actress Meghan Markle to Princess Diana's two sisters, according to royal biographer Tom Bower. In his book Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between the Windsors, Bower writes that Harry had hoped Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes would see similarities between Meghan and their late sister, Princess Diana. However, the Duke of Sussex was upset when they reportedly did not agree. The sisters allegedly believed Meghan would not fit into the Royal Family, causing further disappointment for Harry, now 40. Despite their concerns, Harry went on to marry Meghan in 2018. The couple now has two children. Bower wrote, 'Harry assumed that Diana's family and friends would see a similarity between Diana and his fiancée. He was so disappointed. No one agreed that his vulnerable mother had anything in common with his girlfriend.' However, Harry stood by his views and, in his 2022 Netflix docuseries, he said, 'So much of what Meghan is and how she is, is so similar to my mum. She has the same compassion, the same empathy, the same confidence. She has this warmth about her.' Meanwhile, Meghan has faced fresh criticism this week. According to reports, she lost the opportunity to appear on the cover of Vogue after allegedly making a list of unreasonable demands. Journalist Esther Krakue also criticised Meghan during a segment on The Sun's Royal Exclusive, saying the Duchess should 'lean into being a hot woman who married a prince' instead of trying to position herself as a global thought leader. Krakue also mocked Meghan's recent appearance on The Jamie Kern Lima Show, where the Duchess admitted she wouldn't know what to put on a resume. 'She's also never had to write a resume, let's be honest,' Krakue said. Meanwhile, Meghan continues to promote her new ventures even though opinions about her public image remain divided.

More info Prince Harry "was so disappointed" upon introducing Meghan Markle to Princess Diana's two sisters, a revealing insight has suggested. The Duke of Sussex had anticipated that Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes would find resemblances to his mother, who tragically passed away when Harry was only 12. Despite Harry's belief that Diana would have been thrilled with Meghan, he faced disappointment with the reaction from her sisters. Reportedly, they failed to see the same qualities in Meghan that they cherished in Diana, dealing a further blow to Harry, now 40, as Lady McCorquodale and Lady Fellowes did not think Meghan would blend well with the Royal Family. Nonetheless, Harry married Meghan shortly after in 2018, and the couple now shares two children. These revelations come from the book 'Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between the Windsors,' authored by Royal biographer Tom Bower. He wrote, "Harry assumed that Diana's family and friends would see a similarity between Diana and his fiancée. Both, he said, shared the same problems. He was so disappointed." Bower elaborates, "No one agreed that his vulnerable mother had anything in common with his girlfriend. More discomforting for him, they thought Meghan would not fit in with the Royal Family.", reports the Mirror. Despite the challenges, Prince Harry remained steadfast. In his 2022 Netflix docuseries, he drew parallels between Meghan and his late mother, Princess Diana. As reported by the Express, the Duke of Sussex said: "So much of what Meghan is and how she is, is so similar to my mum. She has the same compassion, the same empathy, the same confidence. She has this warmth about her." However, it's been a difficult week for Meghan, who made headlines for all the wrong reasons after losing the opportunity to grace the cover of Vogue. Allegedly, the Duchess presented a lengthy list of extravagant demands, leading the magazine to withdraw the offer. In other news, journalist and commentator Esther Krakue criticised the Duchess, suggesting that Meghan should embrace her status as an attractive woman who married a prince, rather than attempting to position herself as a thought leader with a "particularly niche view of the world." While appearing on The Sun's Royal Exclusive show, Krakue discussed Meghan's recent appearance on The Jamie Kern Lima Show podcast, where the Duchess admitted she wouldn't know what to put on a resume. Krakue responded bluntly: "She's also never had to write a resume, let's be honest." Krakue further critiqued Meghan's efforts to advocate for complex social issues, stating: "The lens through which she views the world is very peculiar."
