Israel strikes Kfarjoz, Houla, killing at least three

by Naharnet Newsdesk 19 June 2025, 14:12 An Israeli strike on the southern town of Kfarjoz in Nabatieh killed one person overnight, with Israel saying he was "the head of Hezbollah's anti-tank unit in Shebaa." Media reports said another person, standing on the balcony of his house near the strike, later died of his injuries. Later on Thursday, an Israeli drone targeted a Renault Rapid vehicle in the southern border town of Houla, killing a third person. Israel has repeatedly bombed Lebanon despite a November ceasefire that sought to end over a year of hostilities with Hezbollah, including two months of full-blown war. On Wednesday, an Israeli drone fired two missiles at a house in Barish and later targeted a motorcycle, killing one person whom Israel claimed was "the head of Hezbollah's artillery unit in the Litani sector." According to the agreement, Hezbollah must withdraw its fighters to the north of the Litani river, roughly 30 kilometers from the border with Israel, leaving the Lebanese Army and United Nations peacekeepers as the only armed parties in the area. Earlier this month, Israel said it would continue to strike Lebanon until Hezbollah was disarmed. The ceasefire requires Israel to fully withdraw its troops from Lebanon, but it has kept them in five positions it deems "strategic".

Israeli drone strike in Southern Lebanon leaves one injury

Shafaq News/ An Israeli drone targeted a vehicle in the southern Lebanese town of Alma al-Shaab near the Israeli border injured one person on Thursday, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health. Israeli Army's Spokesperson, Avichay Adraee confirmed the attack in a post on X, saying that the targeted is 'a Hezbollah terrorist.' #عاجل هاجم سلاح الجو قبل قليل إرهابيًا من حزب الله عمل في منطقة علما الشعب في جنوب لبنان — افيخاي ادرعي (@AvichayAdraee) April 3, 2025 An earlier Israeli airstrike on the Bint Jbeil road injured two civilians, the ministry said. In the last two days, Israeli forces shot and injured a Lebanese citizen, identified as M.A., in the southern town of Odaisseh. They also fired at a Renault Rapid vehicle, though no additional casualties were reported. Meanwhile, Israeli military vehicles stationed in Al-Labouna, east of Naqoura, advanced toward Ras Naqoura, accompanied by bulldozers. The forces constructed an earth barrier, blocking the road near the Jal Al-Allam site, which overlooks Naqoura and Alma al-Shaab. These strikes come days after Israeli forces bombed the capital, Beirut, killing four people, including a woman. It was the second such strike on Beirut in the past week since a ceasefire with Hezbollah took effect in November. Additionally, Hezbollah condemned the escalating "US-Israeli aggression," describing it as part of a broader "US-Israeli axis" targeting the region. The group highlighted that the Israeli attacks on Lebanon, combined with 'ongoing US pressures and the complicity of American envoys pushing Israeli demands ', form part of a broader strategy to escalate hostilities against the country.
