Beyoncé's First Country Smash Returns As Her Tour Travels The Globe

Beyoncé's 'Texas Hold 'Em' returns to the U.K. charts after her Cowboy Carter Tour wraps in that ... More country, and the album it supports continues to climb. LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - FEBRUARY 02: Beyoncé accepts the Best Country Album award for "COWBOY CARTER" onstage during the 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards at Arena on February 02, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo byfor The Recording Academy) Beyoncé recently wrapped the U.K. leg of her Cowboy Carter Tour, which included six nights at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Fans of the global superstar in England showed their continued enthusiasm for her latest musical chapter by not just showing up in person, but returning to the music she's currently on the road promoting. Following the anticipation for her concerts, her first country smash 'Texas Hold 'Em' resurfaces on the charts. This week, the track returns to a pair of rankings in the United Kingdom — though just barely. 'Texas Hold 'Em' reappears on the Official Singles Downloads chart at No. 97 this week, and lands at No. 100 on the Official Singles Sales list. Beyoncé previewed her first country album Cowboy Carter with 'Texas Hold 'Em,' which became the breakout hit from the set. The tune reached No. 1 on rankings all around the world, despite a drastic sonic departure from her previous work. It even earned her another chart-topper on several U.K. lists. 'Texas Hold 'Em' spent five weeks at No. 1 on the Official Singles Sales chart and seven total on the Official Singles Downloads tally. The track needs only a few more appearances on both lists to mark its first full year as a bestselling single in the country. As 'Texas Hold 'Em' returns, the album it's featured on continues to soar. Cowboy Carter is present on five U.K.-based rankings this week, and it climbs on four of them. The only list it doesn't rise on is the Official Americana Albums chart — and that's only because it remains steady at No. 1. While holding firm on that tally, Cowboy Carter also jumps to No. 4 on the Official Country Artists Albums list. It returns to the top 40 on both the Official Album Streaming chart and the ranking of the most consumed projects in the nation. Cowboy Carter isn't the only Beyoncé project gaining ground this frame. Lemonade, one of her most celebrated collections, reappears on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums chart for the first time in years, landing at No. 38. 'Crazy in Love,' her breakout solo smash, nearly reenters the top 10 on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Singles roster, pushing to No. 11 – it's new all-time peak.

Chappell Roan's Half-Decade-Old Song Returns To The Top 10

Chappell Roan's 'Pink Pony Club' ranks inside the top 10 on six U.K. charts, over half a decade ... More years after its initial release as it rises back into the uppermost region. LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - NOVEMBER 07: Chappell Roan attends Spotlight: A Night With Chappell Roan and Dan Nigro Moderated by Brandi Carlile at GRAMMY Museum L.A. Live on November 07, 2024 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo byfor The Recording Academy) Chappell Roan's single 'Pink Pony Club' needed half a decade to become a hit in the United Kingdom, which is forever when it comes to pop music. The track was released in 2020, but only began picking up traction in the U.K. after she performed it on the main stage during the 2025 Grammy Awards earlier in 2025. In the months since her showing, the tune has become one of the superstar's most familiar tracks. Even though pop tunes usually experience a shorter shelf life than some other compositions, this one is not just sticking around— i t's managing to find space inside the most competitive region on tallies for months at a time. 'Pink Pony Club' appears on half a dozen charts in the U.K. this week. Amazingly, despite the fact that it's already been present for several months at this point, it lives inside the top 10 on each and every ranking. The cut manages that showing as it surges back into the uppermost tier on both the Official Vinyl Singles and Official Physical Singles rankings. This time around, it lands at Nos. 9 and 10, respectively, after sitting only a few spaces beneath the top 10 on those two rosters just a few days ago. 'Pink Pony Club' is on the decline on half of all the U.K. lists on which it appears, though it hasn't fallen outside the top 10 just yet. It dips to No. 4 on the Official Singles chart and to Nos. 6 and 7 on the Official Singles Downloads and Official Singles Sales tallies, respectively. The tune is a non-mover on the Official Streaming chart, where it holds at No. 5. Roan's track has spent the most time on that list, as it's now up to 47 frames as one of the most successful releases on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and others within the U.K. 'Pink Pony Club' is one of five songs by Roan that appear on at least one chart apiece this week in the country. 'Good Luck, Babe!' lives on five rosters and is gaining ground on all of them. It surges north on four lists, including a return to the top 10 on the Official Vinyl Singles roster, and it reappears on the Official Singles Sales tally, well over a year after it first became a breakout smash. 'Casual,' 'The Giver,' and 'Hot to Go!' all manage to make a home on just one roster apiece. 'Casual' breaks back onto the most competitive ranking, the Official Singles chart, while 'The Giver' and 'Hot to Go!' decline by double-digit spaces on the Official Streaming list.

The Grammys Updates Country Music Category Months After Beyoncé's Massive Win For 'Cowboy Carter'

The country music categories at the upcoming Grammy Awards in 2026 will look different than before. Months after Beyoncé took home the awards for "Best Country Album" and "Album of the Year" for her genre-bending eighth studio album, "Cowboy Carter," which features the No. 1 country single "Texas Hold 'Em," the Recording Academy's CEO revealed that country musicians approached the board with a proposal for a significant change. Moving forward, the Grammy Awards will now honor two distinct types of country albums: one featuring a more traditional style of country music, and the other celebrating artists with a more contemporary sound, which often incorporates R&B, pop, and blues. During the 2025 Grammy Awards, there were 10 country categories in the country and roots field, with one specifically for Best Country Album. For the upcoming ceremony, which will take place sometime during the first quarter of 2026, that category will be split into two: Best Traditional Country Album and Best Contemporary Country Album. Other categories, which focus on Americana, bluegrass, folk, and more, will remain. The Recording Academy's CEO, Harvey Mason Jr., elaborated on the change in an interview with Billboard, adding that country performers approached the academy with their concerns. 'They said, we think we need more space for our music to be celebrated and honored," he told the publication, adding that the proposal had been submitted several times in the past before being passed this year. 'It makes country parallel with what's happening in other genres,' Mason said, 'But it is also creating space for where this genre is going.' According to Billboard, the Grammys' new Best Traditional Album category will recognize "excellence in albums of traditional country music, both vocal and instrumental." "Traditional country includes country recordings that adhere to the more traditional sound structures of the country genre, including rhythm and singing style, lyrical content, as well as traditional country instrumentation such as acoustic guitar, steel guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, piano, electric guitar, and live drums. It also includes sub-genres such as Western, Western Swing, and Outlaw country." As Mason continued speaking about the Academy's decision to update the country categories at the Grammys, he also suggested that the change will provide more opportunities for artists to be celebrated among their peers. 'The issues have been, traditionally, a lot of people that weren't sure whether [an album] was Americana or roots or folk or country were just jamming everything into one category," he said. 'There are obviously nuances between the different genres. Those experts in those genres understand those nuances, and I'm quite certain now you're going to see the right people going into Americana versus folk versus traditional country. [The change] gives us an opportunity to put things in more specific categories.' Mason explained that making changes to the way country music is honored at the Grammys enables the Recording Academy to stay current with the genre's evolution. 'I'm hopeful that that community understands that the academy is doing what it always does, which is stay in tune with what's happening in their genre," he finished. In early 2025, after winning several Grammys for her country album, "Cowboy Carter," Beyoncé faced criticism from online users who believed she wasn't deserving of the honor. However, during her acceptance speech, the former Destiny's Child member used her platform to share words of encouragement for those watching. "I think genre [sometimes] is a code-word to keep us in our place as artists," she said. "And I just want to encourage everyone to do what they're passionate about." After extending her title as the most-awarded artist at the Grammys, Beyoncé announced that she would be taking her album on tour in the summer of 2025, stopping in cities such as Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Las Vegas, Paris, London, and more. From the clips circulating on social media, the three-hour show is yet another electrifying performance from the superstar singer, which also features surprise appearances from her daughters, Blue Ivy and Rumi Carter. Sabrina Carpenter's New Single Opens At No. 1

Sabrina Carpenter's 'Manchild' debuts at No. 1 on the U.K.'s Official Singles chart, marking her ... More fourth leader on that tally and another win on several other rosters. LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - FEBRUARY 02: Sabrina Carpenter attends the 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards on February 02, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo byfor The Recording Academy) Sabrina Carpenter's new album Man's Best Friend isn't expected until late August, but the campaign around the project is already going spectacularly. The Grammy winner dropped new single "Manchild" in early June, and the country-tinged pop tune has quickly become a massive global success. The track launches on half a dozen charts in the United Kingdom this week, and it leads the way on many of them, as Carpenter's latest cut proves that a new worldwide pop star is here to stay. "Manchild" launches atop the Official Singles chart in the U.K., which ranks the most consumed songs in the country. It earns Carpenter her fourth career leader, as three smashes from her breakout album Short n' Sweet all managed to lead the charge for at least a month at a time. "Espresso," "Please Please Please," and "Taste" took turns ruling, and now "Manchild" launches atop the competitive roster as well, joining those fairly recent wins. The same track also rules the Official Singles Sales, Official Physical Singles and Official Vinyl Singles charts as it opens at No. 1 on the main songs tally in the U.K. "Manchild" is Carpenter's second ruler on the first two tallies and her third on the vinyl-only roster, as "Nonsense" — taken from a previous era — also managed one moment in the spotlight. "Manchild" doesn't quite dominate either the Official Streaming or Official Singles Downloads charts in the U.K. this week, but it does begin its run on those two tallies inside the top 10. The latest from Carpenter kicks off its time as the second-most streamed tune in the nation, and the fifth-bestselling download. In both cases, the singer-songwriter collects her fourth placement inside the top 10. "Man Child" is one of seven songs by Carpenter to appear on at least one chart in the U.K. at the moment. Previous smashes like "Espresso," "Taste," "Please Please Please" and "Nonsense" make a home on several rankings, while "Busy Woman" and "Bed Chem" live on just one list as fans continue to buy and stream her past works amid growing excitement around her upcoming full-length effort.

Fans swear Beyoncé's historic win sparked a new Grammy award category

The Recording Academy has announced the introduction of two new categories for the 2026 Grammys, and fans are speculating that Beyoncé's 2025 win may have something to do with it The 2026 Grammys will see the introduction of two brand-new award categories, as well as the renaming of one of the biggest awards of the night. The Recording Academy announced the Grammy Awards will now include two new categories: Best Traditional Country Album and Best Album Cover. The existing best country album category will be renamed Best Contemporary Country Album. They say the updates are part of an effort to 'recognise as many deserving creators as possible' but some fans are speculating that Beyonce 's historic 2025 win may have something to do with it. ‌ In 2025, Beyoncé became the first Black female artist to win the Best Country Album award at the Grammys in her first year being nominated in the category. The moment was particularly poignant for fans as the Houston-native's song Daddy Lessons about her childhood in Texas was controversially rejected by the country music committee in 2016. ‌ The Academy's distinction between 'traditional' and 'contemporary' has fans speculating that Beyoncé's historic entrance and dominance in country music motivated the decision. Fans shared their speculation in the comments section of the Grammy's X post announcing the update. 'A black woman won best country album, NOW we need two categories? Interesting', wrote one user on X. 'OH! BEYONCE GOT THEM SHOOK,' wrote another user. One commenter pointed out that this isn't the case for categories where black-artists traditionally dominate. 'Do they have Best Traditional Rap and a Best Contemporary Rap album categories?' According to Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, the new country categories would actually put the genre in alignment with others which separate contemporary and traditional albums or performances, like R&B, pop and blues. Help us improve our content by completing the survey below. We'd love to hear from you! ‌ Speaking to Billboard, Mason said: 'It makes country parallel with what's happening in other genres. But it is also creating space for where this genre is going.' The new traditional country category will focus on: 'country recordings that adhere to the more traditional sound structures of the country genre, including rhythm and singing style, lyrical content, as well as traditional country instrumentation such as acoustic guitar, steel guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, piano, electric guitar, and live drums.' ‌ Mason also told Billboard that the proposal for the new category had been submitted a number of times previously, before passing this year. Two other key changes to the 2026 Grammys include the expanded eligibility for Best New Artist to include artists who have been previously nominated in Album Of The Year, but whose contributions fell below the current 20 percent playing time threshold. This update allows acts who were credited as featured artists on projects that were Grammy nominated for Album Of The Year in a previous awards cycle to be eligible for Best New Artist consideration. Additionally, the existing Best Recording Package and Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package Categories have been combined into one single category: Best Recording Package. A new Category, Best Album Cover, has also been added. The 2026 Grammys nominations will be announced on Friday, November 7, 2025 with the ceremony taking place on Sunday, February 1, 2026 in Los Angeles.
