Edinburgh gang war enforcers warn of 'new wave of attacks' in chilling video
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info The mob behind a series of firebombings in Edinburgh have warned of further attacks in a chilling new video. Gangland enforcers have vowed to step up attacks and target those associated with Mark Richardson and the Daniel crime clan as footage of the latest firebombing also featured. The faceless gang waging war on those in Edinburgh and Glasgow on behalf of kingpin Ross McGill issued the warning and insisted they have no social media accounts and never will. They also posted footage of a property on Jackson Way in Tranent on fire after it was targeted on Friday, June 13. As the Record reports, the front door and a window were engulfed in flames. The clip then ends with a warning more attacks will come as they boasted of targeting more than 40 people since March as cars, businesses and homes linked to both Richardson and the Daniels suffered significant damage. They then went on to mock one of Mark Richardson's top associates David McMillan, who was allegedly attacked with machetes by thugs outside his Edinburgh home last month. A warning from the gang read: "Since March, more than 40 people have had their houses, businesses and cars torched. The majority of you have left your homes throughout this period. "David McMillan is one of the few who stayed put, albeit he hired 24/7 security to sit outside his home. Look how that worked out... "You have retaliated against us by creating social media accounts, sending fake stories to the papers and burning the odd car. "TMJ have no social media accounts, never have and never will. We will continue to target you on a regular basis for stealing from us." McGill has been waging war on Mark Richardson's crime mob from Edinburgh and the Daniel clan from Glasgow since March after he was ripped off in a £500,000 cocaine deal when the buyer used fake bank notes. Police Scotland have vowed to crackdown on the violence, and have arrested 48 people in connection with Operation Portaledge.

Mob targeted in Edinburgh gang war recruit new enforcer to replace slain gangster
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info A mob caught up in the ongoing Edinburgh gang war have warned they have recruited a new enforcer. A new group calling themselves the "A Team" recently hit back at those orchestrating a series of firebombings and shootings in Edinburgh and Glasgow and laughed-off recent incidents. A number of chilling threats have been issued from the Daniel and Mark Richardson outfit on social media as they say a new enforcer has been recruited to replace slain Kevin "Gerbil" Carroll. Earlier in the week they said "bullets win" and warned retribution was coming the way of Dubai-based gangster Ross McGill who is believed to be behind continuous attacks across the central belt. As the Record reports, the threats have been issued in wake of the double-murder of Eddie Lyons Jnr and Ross Monaghan in Spain. A message from the "A Team" told rival operatives: "You allegedly got rid of this man out of total fear. RIP, Gerbil. He would have terrorised you. A real soldier, like our new friend who has replaced him." In a series of mocking posts they branded former Rangers "ultra" McGill a "keyboard gangster" who was engaged in "school boy" attacks via his TMJ gang. Another message read: "Take your wannabe joke of a clan and come back when you are all man enough to handle stuff like men." Feared Daniels enforcer Kevin "Gerbil" Carroll was gunned down in 2010 as he sat in the back seat of an Audi in the Asda car park in Robroyston. The son-in-law of mobster Jamie Daniel was known for kidnapping and torturing rival drug dealers in attacks dubbed "alien abductions". Ross Monaghan was arrested over the shooting but was acquitted after a judge at the High Court in Glasgow ruled there was insufficient evidence to convict him. William 'Buff' Paterson, 45, was later convicted of the murder in 2015 and sentenced to a minimum of 22 years in prison. Earlier this week the Record revealed around a dozen senior members from the Daniel clan and Richardson mob had fled Scotland. An underworld source said: "Nobody knows exactly where they have gone or how long for but most of them are believed to be in Dubai and the rest are in the Costa del Sol. Join Edinburgh Live's Whatsapp Community here and get the latest news sent straight to your messages "The TMJ gang were watching closely and hoping to catch one of them out in the open but all of a sudden they just upped sticks and left." The move came after Spanish cops blamed the double execution of Lyons Jnr and pal Ross Monaghan on "an internal member of the Daniel gang". Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Houston said: "We have been assisting Spanish colleagues with their investigation into the fatal shootings in Fuengirola. "We are not aware of any current evidence which suggests the deaths of these two men in Spain are linked to the recent criminal attacks in Scotland being investigated as part of Operation Portaledge." Michael Riley, 44, appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court in connection with the shooting in Spain on Thursday. The total number of arrests in connection with the investigation Operation Portaledge is 48.

'Beast' spray painted on walls as vandals target property in Scots town
Police say their enquiries into the incident are ongoing. A house in a Scots town has been targeted by vandals who daubed 'beast' on the walls and smashed the windows of the property. Police were alerted to the incident this afternoon at the house on Granger Street in Kilmarnock this afternoon at around 1:35pm. Officers told the Record their enquiries are at an early stage. An image shows windows and the front door boarded up, with 'beast' and 'keep away' spray painted on the walls. It is understood that vigilante groups have been protesting in the street at various dates over the past week due to a known sex offender believed to be living in the area. The house was previously targeted in recent days with blue spray paint but had been cleaned up before the latest incident. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'Around 1.35pm on Thursday, 19 June, 2025, we received a report of vandalism to a property in the area of Granger Road, Kilmarnock. 'Enquiries are at an early stage.' Get all the big headlines, pictures, analysis, opinion and video on the stories that matter to you. Children of Rangers fan killed in Turkey release Father's Day balloons at Ibrox
Christopher Potter passed on a European away trip before Rangers defeated 3-1 in their Europa League round-of-16 first leg. The children of a Rangers fan who was killed in Istanbul have celebrated their first Father's Day without their dad by releasing balloons inside Ibrox which magically flew to his season ticket seat. Christopher Potter tragically died after he was struck by two cars in Besiktas on Thursday, March 6 prior to the Gers' 3-1 first-leg victory over Fenerbahce in the Europa League round-of-16. The 40-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving behind children Jak, 20, Millie, 13, and Teddy, 6, and wife Holly. For the family, Sunday marked the first Father's Day without Christopher. To mark the occasion, Teddy and Millie released blue and white balloons inside Ibrox to honour their late dad. Upon their release, one of their balloons made its way to Christopher's season ticket seat in section GE2. As the balloons flew across towards the section, his late-wife Holly could be heard saying: "That's where your dad sits." Holly told the Record: "The first Father's Day without Christopher was obviously really hard for us all. "But though he's no longer here with us, his love still echoes in our hearts every single day. "We celebrated him on Father's Day at his favourite place, Ibrox, not with gifts or cards but with memories, tears and gratitude. "He might be out of sight, but he's never out of mind. We miss him more than words can say. "It was a sign, I think, that one of the balloons flew straight up to the sky and the other went over to the area where his seat was. "It shows that he is always looking over us." Since Christopher's untimely passing, Rangers have rallied around the family. His youngest son Teddy was welcomed to Ibrox for the 4-0 victory over Aberdeen on May 11 and met Rangers' Players' Player of the Year Nicolas Raskin - who described the encounter with the youngster as "what football's all about' in his Instagram story. Christopher's wife Holly previously told the Record about how supportive Rangers and its supporters have been throughout the horrific ordeal. She said: 'Since his dad passed, Teddy has really embraced football and Rangers have become a huge passion of his. I know how much that would have meant to Christopher and I like to think that he is looking down with a smile on his face, proud that Teddy is following in his footsteps. 'I have to say a huge thank you to the fans and the Rangers family. They really went above and beyond for him and it meant so much. 'I also have to thank Nico Raskin for taking the time to come over and pose for a pic with Teddy and also posting it on his own social media. Again, the fans were responsible for arranging that and it was just the perfect ending to a perfect day for Teddy." The youngster led the team out with Rangers stopper Jack Butland during their 2-0 defeat to Hibernian at Ibrox on April 5. Butland previously reached out to the family to meet up with him and his mother at Ibrox for the home-leg against Fenerbahce. At the 40th minute of the game, thousands of Rangers supporters paid tribute to Christopher with a roaring applause. Banners were held up in his memory reading: "With the angels you'll be singing, our very special friend. Christopher Potter 1984-2025." Christopher's devastated wife Holly spoke about how her family were overwhelmed. She said at the time: "I was totally overwhelmed at the outpouring of emotion. 'The Rangers family really came together. I know Christopher would have been chuffed to bits to see how they paid their respects and credit to the Fenerbahce fans for joining in too. 'I have to thank all the players from the bottom of my heart. The pain we are all feeling at the moment is indescribable, but there is some comfort knowing how well loved and well-thought of Christopher was.' Christopher, a roofer with SLK Roofing, was hit by a vehicle while crossing a road and was then struck by another car. He was returning to his hotel by taxi after leaving an entertainment venue when he stopped the taxi to withdraw money. According to local reports, one of the motorists was jailed for 'murder by negligence' while the other was released on probation. On March 29, mourners lined the streets of Glasgow to pay their final respects to to the late father-of-three, also known as 'Mr Duke Street', as the Dennistoun Rangers Flute band played Melody as the procession made its way to Daldowie Crematorium. Fans stood on the roof of the Bristol Bar with flags and flares as banners reading "let me tell you that I love you all the time", "simply the best" and "Potter forever" draped from the roof. During the funeral, Christopher was remembered as a "much loved and much respected" son, a doting father and uncle who was "exceptionally hard working" by his loved ones. Following his death, a fundraiser for his family raised over £180,000. Rangers captain James Tavernier, interim manager Barry Ferguson and goalie Jack Butland were amongst those who donated to the appeal. Charity boss Andy Smilie also donated £10,000 to the family. Holly previously said: 'I have been totally overwhelmed by the support I have received from everyone. Of course, no amount of money will bring Christopher back but it will be shared among his children. Fly high Christopher, we loved you so much.' A Rangers spokesperson said: "Christopher will be missed by everyone who knew him and the thoughts of everyone at Rangers are with his family and friends at this time." A spokesperson for the Foreign Office previously told the Record: 'We are aware of the death of a British man in Turkey and are in touch with the local authorities.' Football hooligan crackdown ordered by justice minister after Old Firm experience
The SNP minister told how she could barely breathe or see the action on the pitch as 'ultras' lit hundreds of pyros at the Scottish League Cup Final in December. A crackdown on hooligan behaviour at football has been ordered by justice minister Angela Constance after her own experience of Old Firm mayhem. The SNP minister told how she could barely breathe or see the action on the pitch as 'ultras' lit hundreds of pyros at the Scottish League Cup Final in December. Before the game troublemakers rampaged through Glasgow city centre, spreading fear and panic. The game itself was delayed after pyro displays from both sides saw smoke sweep through Hampden. The justice minister hosted a round table discussion with football bosses, clubs, prosecutors and fans at Holyrood yesterday to find a way to tackle disorder at Scottish football. And she told the Record she is determined to change the turbulent and violent course of fan behaviour. Constance said: 'In terms of what I saw at the Old Firm game and also what I heard today, it's very clear that the issue with pyrotechnics isn't just an Old Firm problem, it is further afield and pyrotechnics have been utilised in smaller clubs and in smaller venues as well. 'But at the match I was deeply concerned for people who were there with children. And it was difficult to follow the football for all the coughing and spluttering I was doing. 'The health impacts certainly concerned me, not just because there was a delay to the match. The amount of smoke was phenomenal and there was a serious danger to folk carrying or lighting pyrotechnics too, as well as the stewards, players and families. So it gave me big concerns from a safety point of view.' At yesterday's summit, police, club chiefs and fan groups were shown footage of the damage done by pyros across Europe, where some players and officials were seriously injured. Last week SFA bosses suggested police and the Scottish Government should take the reins on curbing bad behaviour – starting with wider use of tough banning orders. Constance said she was determined not to be seen to be playing 'pass the parcel' with responsibility. She said: 'I gave a commitment earlier this year to chair a round table, a meeting of all our partners because of growing concerns around football disorder. 'By that I mean within the stadium or the impact on communities after matches. I very much recognise that the vast majority of football fans behave responsibly, but I can't ignore the behaviour of a very small minority. It was a very constructive meeting. There is a very strong shared will and desire for us all to work together to ensure football is safe for fans, players and also the wider community.' Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Constance was told by the SPFL how they are sharing information with police and football authorities using CCTV to weed out disruptive fans. She said a consultation on Football Banning Orders will examine use of current laws and what enforcement is needed to combat disorder on the terraces. She said: 'Attending the Old Firm game certainly increased my resolve to do more to address the issue of pyrotechnics. I'm very pleased to have secured in our Programme for Government a commitment to consult – and the consultation will be launched this year on Football Banning Orders. 'That will test whether we've got the right legislation for the issues we face today and tomorrow. So we need to future proof our legislation, because there are concerns we don't have the right legislative response for pyrotechnics in the context of football matches.' Despite the recent revelation that Scotland saw just five banning orders in the last season, Constance would not commit to supporting a wave of new bans. SFA chairman Mike Mulraney last week said 10-year banning orders offer the 'jeopardy' required to moderate bad behaviour. Constance said: 'If we have legislation that can be utilised, that's a tool that should be used. But I also acknowledge legislation on its own is rarely the answer. The work to educate people and to engage people is important.' The summit will lead to a public consultation on banning orders legislation.
