Padraig Amond and Conan Noonan steer Waterford to victory over Bohemians
Two goals in the dying minutes of the first-half from Padraig Amond and Conan Noonan steered Waterford FC to a massive 2-1 win over second-placed Bohemian FC in their SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division at a rocking RSC. Rhys Brennan could have put the visitors in front on 13 minutes when the centre-forward peeled off his marker to latch onto a long ball from Rob Cornwall from his centre-half position, but his first-time of the advancing Stephen McMullan went wide. Blues keeper McMullan made a fine double save to keep Bohs at bay on 34 minutes. Rooney swung in a right-wing corner that saw the ball break to Dawson Devoy, who saw his crisp snapshot saved before the netminder responded well to save Rob Cornwall's rebound header. After Lonegan went agonisingly close to a brilliant opener for the hosts six minutes later, only to fire inches wide, the striker played a part in a penalty that gave the hosts the lead in the final minute of the half. He was bundled over in the area by Leigh Kavanagh before referee Marc Lynch pointed straight to the spot. Although Bohs keeper Kacper Chorazka guessed the right way, he couldn't keep out Amond's brilliant 12-yarder. The home side doubled the lead three minutes into first-half added time. McMullan's goal-kick was flicked on by Grant Horton, which saw the ball break for Noonan off Kavanagh, and he beat Chorazka with a stunning left-footed strike from 20 yards. Waterford missed a host of early second-half chances to kill the game, with Tommy Lonergan, Darragh Leahy, and Jesse Dempsey all going close to extending the lead by the hour mark, but they couldn't convert from inside the area. The hosts were punished for those missed opportunities on 72 minutes. Ryan Burke's loose header was picked up by Keith Buckley, who touched the ball inside for Ross Tierney to send Devoy clear on the left, and he beat McMullan with a sweet left-footed strike. Sam Heughan drops major hint Outlander could return after season 8 finale
Outlander season eight might not be the last we see of Claire and Jamie Fraser's love story, if Sam Heughan's hints are to be believed... Outlander fans are already mourning the loss of Claire and Jamie Fraser's captivating love story. The eighth and final season will soon hit screens, as the fanbase prepares to close the chapter on the era. Although we have spin-off Blood of My Blood to look forward to, it's the original thats likely to stick in everyone's hearts. Diana Gabaldon's best-selling book franchise only grew after it was adapted by Starz for the small screen. The series has catapulted the likes of Scottish actor Sam Heughan to fame for his portrayal as Highland warrior Jamie Fraser. The good news? There could be a silver lining on the horizon, despite the fact the show is set to end for good after the eighth run. While promoting his new stage role in Macbeth, Sam spoke about the closing chapter in his TV career and if there was scope for a follow-up series or special, to which he made it clear he wouldn't rule it out. "Who knows?" Heughan said when speaking to Deadline news. "I know they did that with Downton Abbey and others. So you never know. Maybe the ginger wig is still around somewhere." The innocent remark has sent shockwaves through the fanbase. Although Starz has not confirmed any Outlander continuations beyond Blood of My Blood set to premiere later this year, it hasn't stopped many hoping. Elsewhere, Sam is set to return to the stage for his theatre debut as Macbeth, at the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC). The actor was delighted to announce he will star in a leading role, admitting his dreams have come true. He will feature alongside The Day Of The Jackal actress Lia Williams, starring as Lady Macbeth. Discussing his new role, Sam said: "At age 18, standing on the main stage of the Royal Lyceum Edinburgh, playing 'spear-carrier number 2' (essentially a glorified extra) in a production of Macbeth, I could only dream of one day playing the infamous title character." He continued: "It feels full circle to be returning to the stage, after over a decade working primarily in television and film. Not only is Macbeth my favourite Shakespeare play: intense, immediate and unsettling, it also happens to be famously Scottish. "The RSC has always been at the pinnacle of my ambition and I feel deeply honoured and thankful to be working alongside some enormously talented and creative people. "The Other Place is the perfect space to create an intense, intimate production and, like Lady M, we will be calling upon the spirits of the RSC's highly acclaimed past productions for their blessing."

TTDI Residents Protest 'Mini Casino' In Their Neighbourhood
Subscribe to our FREE A petition has surfaced recently to oppose the establishment of an alleged gambling center in Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI), Kuala Lumpur. The petition was prompted by an announcement published by the Royal Selangor Club (RSC) in April of a proposal of an annexed building in TTDI (Annex2) which will feature a bar, restaurant, pickleball court and gaming facilities, among others. According to the petition, Annex2 will be located next to Menara Ken on Jalan Burhanuddin Helmi, TTDI. In the RSC announcement, it states that the club's slot machine operator GPL notified RSC on 21 March, 2025, that their relocation deadline from RSC is no later than 31 December, although they aim to move out sooner, possibly by October 2025. Image: Royal Selangor Club TRP reached out to an RSC member, who spoke on the condition to remain anonymous, and learned that the slot machine relocation was due to licensing matters, but did not elaborate. Residents of TTDI put out petition against Annex2 The The petition starter Zafrul Is, speaking on behalf of other concerned residents, said they are worried for the tranquility and safety, should a gambling center exist in their area. 'Gambling activities are notorious for attracting undesirable elements such as loan sharks and gangster-related activities. Allowing such an establishment could jeopardize the peaceful environment we have worked so hard to maintain. 'Furthermore, it poses a significant risk to our youth, whose futures could be marred by exposure to gambling and its associated vices. The Malaysian youth, being the backbone of our future, deserve to grow up in environments that foster healthy development and positive influences,' Zafrul said. He further illustrated how data and reports have shown that communities near casinos and gambling centers often experience rises in crime rates, debts, and other social ills. GOP unveils new weapon to help slash billions in government waste as Republicans rally behind Trump's plan
Congressional Republicans are racing to harness the momentum left behind by Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), and the leaders of a new House GOP initiative are hoping they have the solution. "You tell people the word 'rescission,' in my district, I'm sure that polls pretty low, but they know waste, they know fraud, and they know abuse," Rep. Riley Moore, told Fox News Digital. "This is why this process needs to be not only explained to our own members, but also to the population out here that might not know what the heck a rescission is, but know that they want the wasteful spending to end." Moore is leading the Republican Study Committee's (RSC) new task force, aimed at getting both fellow House Republicans and the American public on board with the GOP on a mechanism for spending cuts known as rescissions. House Gop Targets Another Dem Official Accused Of Blocking Ice Rescissions proposals are requests from the White House for cuts to funding already approved by Congress in the current fiscal year. The House is voting on the first of what Republican leaders hope are several such proposals this week – President Donald Trump sent Congress a request to cut $9.4 billion in funding to PBS, NPR and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The $9.4 billion figure is part of a larger $180 billion sum of waste that Musk said his DOGE efforts had uncovered. RSC Chair August Pfluger, R-Texas, said Moore "is able to educate our members, work with the White House, liaise directly with [the Office of Management and Budget], talk to leadership, voice the conservative concerns… and to dispel myth and speak truth." Pfluger's 189-member RSC serves as a de facto conservative think tank of sorts for the House GOP. It's a natural extension of the group's work to focus on how to message government spending cuts, particularly while Democrats are accusing the GOP of trying to rip away critical programs. Pfluger and Moore signaled the task force's most immediate goal will be easing concerns of moderate Republicans who may be wary of the $9.4 billion spending cut plan. With just a razor-thin majority, House GOP leaders can afford no more than three defections to pass legislation along party lines. "If members do have problems, the conservative conscience of our conference, RSC, can help them understand why it's important to vote on it. And that's what Riley is going to do," Pfluger said. Both suggested they would like to see future rescissions packages, but would not go into detail about what could be cut. Moore noted he was on the Appropriations Committee, the keepers of the House's purse strings, and that there were ongoing conversations between members of that panel and the White House about identifying future rollbacks. And both Pfluger and Moore said they were undaunted by Musk's somewhat dramatic departure from the federal government – insisting the public was still behind the idea of DOGE, even without the Tesla billionaire at the forefront.
