RAM Announces NASCAR Cup Series Entry Timeline

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Days after Stellantis' RAM Trucks announced its 2026 NASCAR Truck Series entry at Michigan International Speedway, CEO Tim Kuniskis has now confirmed the timeline for the brand's entry into the top-tier Cup Series. RAM's entry into NASCAR makes it the first OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) in the sport since Toyota introduced its Tundra in 2004. While RAM hasn't formed a team yet, Kuniskis confidently shared during the announcement that the brand would be ready to race at Daytona next year. He also hinted that the ultimate goal is to race in the Cup Series and that the Truck Series serves as a step to enter the sport. He said: "There will be more details on our NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series program later this year. We are undoubtedly having fun with this project, and I truly look forward to sharing information on our team and how getting back on track relates to the future of Ram performance." (L-R) Tim Kuniskis, CEO Ram Brand - Stellantis, NASCAR Executive Vice President Steve O'Donnell and John Probst, SVP of Innovation and Racing Development pose at the Ram display on the midway for the announcement that the Ram brand will return to NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series competition, prior to the NASCAR Cup Series FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway on June 08, 2025 in Brooklyn, Michigan. MoreHe added: "We'll be on track in Daytona in eight months, and the way we're going to do it is unlike anyone else. "We're looking for a date to the prom right now. So how am I going to get to Cup? That's going to depend on how I get to Truck. So however we get to Truck is going to obviously weigh heavily on 'do I have a path to Cup?' Our intention is not to do a one-hit wonder and go to Truck and not to Cup. That's not our plan." Now, Kuniskis has revealed further details on the RAM Trucks' plans to enter the Cup Series in 2027, a year after the brand's Truck Series entry. Speaking with Kevin Harvick on NASCAR on FOX, he said: "Coming into Truck [Series] is a lot easier than coming into Cup [Series], and that's why we were really confident with all the work that we've done on the Truck to say we'll be in Daytona. "Now, TBD who the team's gonna be but we have every confidence that we're going to be in Daytona." He added: "It's gonna take a little bit longer to get to Cup. Our goal is to get the Cup a year after that [2027]. "Now, everybody's told me we're crazy. 'There's no way you're gonna get there.' But we think there's a couple of things from our legacy that might speed that development time up. And maybe we could be in Daytona this [coming] year with Truck, and then the following year, Daytona in Cup. "A lot of very smart people, smarter than me have told me you better plan on two years to get back to Cup. But TBD, I'm always pushing for the quicker timeline, so I'm hoping that it's 2027. 2026 for Truck and 2027 for Cup."

Morocco Emerges as Aerospace Powerhouse with 150 Firms, €2.5 Billion Revenue

Marrakech – Morocco is cementing its position as a global aerospace hub, boasting 150 companies operating factories nationwide and generating €2.5 billion in annual revenue. Speaking to French newspaper 'Le Point' at the renowned Paris Air Show, Minister of Industry and Commerce Ryad Mezzour shared insights into the sector's remarkable growth. These aerospace enterprises, concentrated in Casablanca, Tangier, Rabat and Fez, provide full-time employment to 26,000 individuals. Their primary focus lies in producing fuselages, structural components, interior furnishings, and wiring systems. Mezzour also shed light on the collaboration between national carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM) and French aerospace giant Safran concerning the CFM engine. 'During French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Morocco last October, an agreement was signed extending the partnership to the next-generation CFM-Leap engine,' he stated. Morocco's competitive edge lies in its ability to handle advanced technology, with 23,000 engineers graduating annually, 400 of whom enter the aerospace field. 'Production costs are competitive at €25 per hour, compared to €100-120 in Europe or the US,' Mezzour stressed. Looking ahead, the minister outlined ambitious plans: 'We will expand our offer to cabin fittings, landing gear manufacturing, and within ten years, we think we can offer a final assembly line for commercial aircraft.' He expressed confidence in doubling the sector's turnover by 2030. RAM is currently exploring the acquisition of the Airbus A220, a narrow-body jet well-suited for its European routes. 'A study is underway for an aircraft order by RAM, which is interested in the Airbus A220, a small-to-medium range jet suited for its European network,' Mezzour confirmed. The air show kicked off with a bang for Morocco as aviation titan Boeing inked a major deal, signaling a new chapter in its Moroccan investment strategy. Casablanca Aeronautique, a subsidiary of French group Figeac Aero, entered into a partnership agreement to manufacture machined structural parts for Boeing's 737 MAX program. This agreement builds upon a 2016 Memorandum of Understanding between Boeing and the Moroccan government. 'This commitment underscores the planemaker's desire to strengthen Morocco's industrial base and sustainably anchor its supply chains in the country,' Mezzour concluded. Royal Air Maroc CEO Frustrated Over Boeing Delivery Delays, Says Situation Is Improving

Rabat – Hamid Addou, CEO of Morocco's national carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM), shared the company's ambitions, plan, as well as frustration over the delay in submitting ordered aircraft from Boeing. He made his remarks during a recent interview with CNN, in which he shared Royal Air Maroc's heavy investments, but also setbacks, as some aircraft arrive up to 18 months late. 'You have to offer your customers what they're paying for. And in the economy… You have to offer the kind of service they're expecting. So we need to invest in the product, and we are already doing it,' Addou said. He said that, of course, one feels frustrated when you have 15 to 18 months late deliveries. Addou acknowledged that all executives and airlines face the same issue, promising that 'things are evolving in the right direction. Well, we just received three MAX's this week.' RAM's CEO added that Royal Air Maroc is set to receive seven of its ordered fleet by the end of December, noting that things are 'getting better.' 'Based on my information, the rhythm of production is increasing, which is a good sign,' Addou noted, adding that the company trusts its partners. The remarks came just a few days before an agreement between Boeing and Casablanca's Aironautique, a subsidiary of France's Fiageac Aero Group. Under the deal, the two parties will produce parts for the 737 MAX. Earlier this month, converging reports indicated that Royal Air Maroc is in the final stages of a significant aircraft deal with Boeing, alongside a smaller agreement with Airbus. Bloomberg cited sources familiar with the matter as saying that the Boeing order could be delayed, potentially pending a high-level meeting between King Mohammed VI and US President Donald Trump. During his interview with CNN, Addou also shared Royal Air Maroc's point of strength, noting that while the GCC Airlines focus more on Asia, RAM has a stronger presence on the south-north route between Africa and Europe. 'Where it's complicated for us to compete is against low-cost carriers,' the CEO of Royal Air Maroc said, adding that Morocco has over 40 competitors that will need a new model and a new market. Addou also thanked RAM's teams for developing new markets to compete against companies like Wizz, EasyJet, and Ryanair. He pledged that Royal Air Maroc is developing a different market in Africa, citing the company's strategy to put different and special plans for customers, in line with Morocco's culture. ' I think that if you want to feel again the first experience of the country, the airline is the best way to start a good journey,' he said. Addou added that Royal Air Maroc is in the center geographically, which makes the company able to capitalize on what clients like the world diaspora can offer. Royal Air Maroc Expands Summer Capacity to Record 6.6 Million Seats Amid Travel Surge

Morocco's national carrier, Royal Air Maroc (RAM), will offer a record 6.6 million seats for summer 2025, up by more than 700,000 from last year, as part of a major ramp-up to meet surging travel demand, particularly from the Moroccan diaspora, the airline said Monday. The expanded schedule includes over 95 destinations, with new long-haul routes to São Paulo, Beijing, Toronto, and Catania, and additional domestic and African frequencies. RAM also added a third London route via Stansted, supplementing its existing services from Heathrow and Gatwick. The carrier is modernizing its fleet with eight new aircrafts, including two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and six Boeing 737 MAX 8s, reducing reliance on leased aircraft. It will, however, wet-lease four additional planes for the season to cover peak demand across Casablanca, Tangier, Nador, and Oujda. RAM is also overhauling its Casablanca hub operations with new scheduling windows to improve connectivity—dedicating overnight slots to European routes and daytime slots to African destinations. The expansion is part of RAM's broader strategy to position Morocco as a strategic aviation hub and improve the passenger experience, CEO Hamid Addou said. Ticket sales for the summer program are now available across all official channels. MAP: 16 June 2025
