The arrival of summer isn't just about soaking up the sun with a drink in hand, or maximising outdoor time to enjoy the warmth - although that's certainly a bonus. For us retail writers and bargain seekers, it signals the return of one of the industry's most eagerly awaited events, Amazon Prime Day, which offers thousands of deals on a vast array of items.
Each year, the retail giant unveils a range of rather impressive discounts that make splurging on a new beauty gadget, vacuum cleaner, coffee machine, pair of trainers, or even mobile phone a bit less taxing on the wallet.
This year, Prime Day is stretching beyond a single day and, for the first time, will last 96 hours. In 2025, the four-day event will run from 00:01 on July 8, wrapping up at 11:59pm on July 11. For money-saving tips, sign up to our Money newsletter here
Echoing some of the popular deals from previous years, the shopping extravaganza will feature discounts on big-name brands such as Bose, De'Longhi, Dyson, Lego, Shark, CeraVe, Ninja, and Sonos.
What's new for 2025?
This year, Amazon is launching a new feature called 'Today's Big Deals', a dedicated page showcasing daily themes curated exclusively for Prime members. This will include limited-time 'New Deal Drop' deals that will be unveiled at midnight each day of the event.
Naturally, only Prime members will have access to these exclusive deals.
The event will also last twice as long this year, spanning four days from July 8 to July 11.
How to join Amazon Prime
Those interested in participating in the event can sign up for a free trial at without any obligation. The free trial lasts for 30 days and includes benefits such as fast and free delivery.
To continue with the service after the trial, it costs £8.99 per month or £95 per year. Young adults aged between 18-22 can enjoy all the same perks at half the price, costing just £4.49 per month or £47.49 a year.
If July 8 seems too far off, Amazon offers impressive deals throughout the year, with discounts on popular brands currently available.
