Motilal Oswal recommends 'buy' on MCX Copper, set target at ₹915

According to Pathfinder - Copper Resurgence report from Motilal Oswal Wealth Management, MCX Copper has given a breakout above the descending trend line on the daily chart (of 18th June), confirming the resumption of the prevailing bullish trend. Price action continues to display a classic bullish structure, marked by a sequence of higher highs and higher lows. Additionally, the 14-period RSI on the daily chart is holding above the 60 level, suggesting a strengthening bullish momentum. Therefore, Motilal Oswal Wealth Management recommends buying in the range of ₹882 – ₹880, with a stop-loss below ₹855 on a closing basis and upside targets of ₹915. On the daily chart (of 18th June), LME Copper has been exhibiting a higher high and higher low price formation since May 2025, indicating a well-established bullish trend. 14 - Period RSI is also poised to move upwards and it's holding well above the midpoint mark of 50 signalling market strength. Motilal Oswal Wealth Management recommends buying LME Copper in the current range of $9,725 – $9,715 with a stop loss below $9,420 level on a sustainable basis and with upside targets at $10,080 levels. Track LIVE Stock Market Updates Navneet Damani, Group Senior VP, Head Commodities Research, Motilal Oswal Wealth Management, said 'Copper prices have been hovering in a broad range between $8900-9800 amidst mixed economic scenario and renewed optimism surrounding easing US-China trade tensions and low LME inventories. Inventory drawdowns and mine disruptions continue to support prices, while weakening Chinese imports and declining premiums may question demand strength. After the tariffs were doubled on steel and aluminium imports into the US to 50 per cent, market participants speculate copper tariffs to be announced soon. The Dollar Index has been continuously weakening, supporting base metal prices on the lower end. President Trump hinted at imposing new unilateral tariffs on trading partners within two weeks, which may be volatile for prices. Prices are expected to see an upside of 4-5 per cent supported by positive catalysts and technical conviction.' ===================================

'Blueprint' for rural sustainable travel opens in Longford

A transport project in Longford town described as "a blueprint for sustainable transport across rural Ireland" is to be officially opened. The Battery Road project, which has taken two years to complete, sees the creation of dedicated cycle paths and new footpaths. Longford County Council said the 1.3km of cycle track will benefit people living, working and going to school in the area and demonstrates its commitment to providing residents genuine alternatives to car dependency. "The completion of three out of four Pathfinder sub-projects positions Longford as the national leader in active travel delivery, with over €8 million invested in our core cycle network," said Paddy Mahon, Chief Executive of Longford County Council. The Pathfinder Programme is focused on reducing carbon emissions in the transport sector, by enabling the shift to cleaner transport choices. The project was funded through the Active Travel Programme and National Transport Authority. It will be officially opened by Minister of State Seán Canney this afternoon. "Through this project, Longford County Council is demonstrating what can be achieved when there is ambition and a determination to deliver," Minister Canney said. "Today's section represents another important step towards developing the town network" he said "When completed, this network will be an exemplar for others, with learnings that can be replicated through other projects in the county and beyond" he added. Longford County Council Cathaoirleach Councillor Mark Casey focused on the community wellness aspects. "The health dividends for our residents, particularly families in Clonbalt Woods, White Linen Woods, Abbeycartron, Lisbrack and Demesne estates, cannot be overstated," he said. "Children attending St John's National School now have safe, protected routes that encourage daily physical activity. This infrastructure doesn't just move people, it builds healthier communities and gives parents peace of mind," he added.

How Nissan Is Actively In Pursuit Of The Perfect Cupholder

Nissan cupholder study Nissan Cupholders everywhere, Nissan wants to have a word with you. When I was a kid, our cars didn't have great cupholders for all of the family beverages. I know this because we used to own a boatload of 1970s-era aftermarket plastic cupholders that had a hook designed to slide between the window and the seal. These weren't particularly high-quality or effective, but they were better than nothing if you had a bottle of water and a can of Tab at the same time. Automakers got the hint many years ago and started designing interiors that incorporated far more cupholders than ever before. Many cars today offer an embarrassment of riches when it comes to places to stash your beverages. Nissan, for one, offers 16 cupholders in its three-row Pathfinder SUV. And the brand is proactively designing interiors to accommodate liquid vessels of all shapes and sizes using 3D modeling paired with human testing. Nissan cupholder in action. Nissan Nissan Senior Manager of Vehicle Performance Development Chris Fischer says his department look at trends in water bottles, Big Gulps, Starbucks Venti beverages, and every single size in between to better understand what customers need. They look at what's popular to keep up with the trends, and hire researchers to get granular with the data. Consumer demand for drinkware brands like Stanley, Yeti, and Hydro Flask has exploded in recent years. For instance, Stanley water bottle sales surged 87 percent year over year in 2023, with total sales of $750 million that year. The global insulated drinkware market cap is projected to reach $12.91 billion in the next five years, up from $7.2 billion in 2023. Americans like their to-go beverages, and they are actively working toward using more sustainable bottles and getting away from single-use plastic. 'We closely look at the trends,' Fischer says. 'When we look at the center console, we need to be able to fit a coffee cup, a Coke bottle, a fast foot cup, or a water bottle. They have to be able to sit flat and we don't want the lid to pop off.' Think about all the times you tried to squeeze a cup from a fast food restaurant into a too-small cupholder and all the frustration that brings. Nissan wants to avoid that. Beverage vessels seem to have gotten bigger over the years, Fischer says. Most automakers understand that cups must fit into cars, and they are fitted as such. That's why fast food companies don't increase the size of the cups they use. If they don't fit into the car, people won't buy them. Over time, car manufacturers have tried different ways to make the perfect cupholder, with varying levels of success. 'We've seen other automakers make adjustable-depth cupholders, and it's interesting but maybe a little gimmicky,' Fischer says. 'We've also seen parts that can be removed. What we find is when you have those removable parts, they either break or get lost or get vacuumed up.' Today's car cupholders have to do double duty as phone holders, too. Smartphones are various shapes and sizes, and often passengers will toss them into the cupholder. In Nissan's estimation, these little details are the unsung heroes of drivers everywhere.

Nissan achieves 10% growth in Fiscal Year 2024 across the Middle East, driven by SUV demand and iconic nameplates

Patrol, Pathfinder, X-TRAIL, and KICKS lead the charge as regional SUV sales rise 17% year on year Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – Nissan has announced a 10% year-on-year growth in the Middle East region for fiscal year 2024 (April 2024 – March 2025). Spanning over 18 markets, including the Gulf states, Saudi Arabia, Levant, Iraq, and CIS, the brand's regional business unit achieved strong results, fueled by increased demand for SUVs and crossovers, which accounted for more than 55% of total sales. SUV sales rose 17% year-on-year, led by the World Premiere of the All-New Nissan Patrol in Abu Dhabi, which saw a 21% increase in sales. Closing FY24, Nissan expanded its SUV range with the Magnite, a compact SUV introduced regionally in Saud Arabia, offering a value-driven option for city living. Saudi Arabia remains Nissan's largest market in the Middle East, contributing over 35% of total regional sales in FY24. The Kingdom continues to be a key pillar in Nissan's regional strategy, with the SUV portfolio including Pathfinder with a 27% increase, and KICKS with a 10% increase, resonating strongly with Saudi consumers. This market remains pivotal to Nissan's growth, especially in the SUV segment, which has seen strong demand in recent years. Thierry Sabbagh, President of Nissan Middle East and INFINITI and Divisional Vice President for KSA, Middle East, and CIS, said 'FY24 marked a strategic turning point for Nissan in the region. Amid shifting market dynamics and heightened consumer expectations, we remained focused on what drives long-term value, strong partnerships, competitive product lineup, and operational agility across our markets. Our performance in Saudi Arabia, our largest market, reflects the strength of our product strategy and the trust we continue to build with customers and dealers alike. As we look ahead, we see clear opportunities for growth, particularly across the SUV segment, supported by a robust FY25 product pipeline and closer collaboration with our trusted partners across the region.' Adib Takieddine, Managing Director, Nissan Saudi Arabia, said: 'Our performance in FY24 marks a defining moment for Nissan in Saudi Arabia, driven by strong growth, growing customer trust, and sustained demand for our SUV lineup. With the Kingdom contributing over a third of regional sales, our results reflect the unique connection we've built with Saudi customers. This momentum highlights Nissan's deep alignment with the Kingdom's ambitions and evolving lifestyle. As we carry this progress into FY25, we are committed to building on this success by delivering more innovation, greater choice, and an ownership experience that exceeds expectations across Saudi Arabia.' Beyond Saudi Arabia, Gulf markets played a key role in driving regional sales growth. These markets saw a 16% uplift in sales, with Qatar emerging as standout performer with a 32% increase. The UAE registered a 16% increase in sales, while Bahrain posted an 11% rise. The Patrol saw impressive gains in these markets, with sales surging 80% in Qatar and over 30% in both the UAE and Bahrain. Additionally, the X-TRAIL recorded strong double-digit growth across several key markets, including a 32% increase in the UAE, and 25% in Kuwait. Product performance across the region also showcased the strength of Nissan's portfolio. The Pathfinder achieved a remarkable 96% year-on-year increase, driven by robust demand in the UAE. Meanwhile, the KICKS saw a 28% regional increase, with particularly strong performances in the UAE and Bahrain This momentum was further boosted by the February 2025 launch of the all-new KICKS, which featured upgraded features and a refreshed design, reflecting its popularity among younger, tech-savvy urban drivers. Entering FY25, Nissan stands on a solid foundation, having reinforced its product lineup with both iconic models and exciting new introductions. Building on its momentum, FY25 will see the continuation of Nissan's product offensive strategy, with new models and nameplates set to launch across the region. With the recent introduction of the new Magnite and KICKS strengthening Nissan's SUV offering, the brand remains focused on meeting the growing customer demand for SUVs and crossovers. Guided by a commitment to innovation, quality, and customer engagement, Nissan is poised for sustained growth in the evolving Middle East market. About Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. HS topper, farmer's son lead Bengal charge in NEET

1 2 Kolkata: Higher Secondary topper Rupayan Pal bagged the 20th position on the NEET-UG merit list, which was published on Saturday. Kolkata boy, Rachit Sinha Choudhuri, ranked 16th in the all-India entrance test to medical schools, becoming the NEET topper from Bengal, while Anik Ghosh, a farmer's son from Murshidabad, ranked 67th. Rachit's favourite pastime is playing tabla and loves to spend his time in the kitchen. But his last three months' sole focus had been preparations for the entrance test. "As I was scrolling through the merit list, my father started screaming in joy on spotting my score and rank. I had given my 100% to this exam, but this rank was beyond my expectations," Rachit told TOI. The elation over his son's success was evident on the face of Rachit's father, Shirshendu, who runs a business. "He has diverse qualities besides his studies. He is a good cook. So much so that he can even whip up a continental dish. He is very good at tabla, too. But he completely focused on his preparations for NEET the past three months, setting aside everything else. He even logged off social media and handed his phone to us," he said. Rupayan had scored 497 out of 500 (99.4%) in HS, topping the state board Class XII exams, and had even ranked 5th in his Madhyamik in 2021. The past two years had been about preparing for his boards and entrance tests "Studying for the two exams together was not very difficult as the two syllabi are almost similar. I kept practising the answers as much as possible, which I think helped me a lot. A clear concept of the topics is important, whether it's a board or a competitive exam," he said. While both Rachit enrolled at Aakash Institute, Rupayan took online tests there. He enrolled at Pathfinder, too. Son of high school English teachers, Rupayan wants to become a cardiologist or a neurosurgeon. He loves reading books and watching sports but stays off social media. Anik's father sold off 1.5 bigha of a 3-bigha land he owned in their Murshidabad village, to enrol his son, a first-generation learner, at Allen Coaching to help him pursue his dream of becoming a doctor. Anik had set his heart on becoming a doctor when he was a child after his grandfather died due to lack of treatment. "I still remember that day though I was a kid," he said. "It's my dream to become a neurosurgeon and serve rural people, who have limited access to proper medical services. " Anik couldn't study much in Dec and Jan because he was unwell but he concentrated on his preparations from Feb. "But I love watching films and web series, something I could not give up even ahead of exams. I think studying properly for three-four hours a day is enough to crack competitive exams," he said.
