He was accompanied by senior officers from the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministry of Home Affairs. The guideline marked the pivotal advancement in Asean's collective commitment to safeguard the rights of victims and enhancing the effectiveness of counter measures to trafficking throughout the Asean region. The initiative is the result of the collaborative efforts between the Asean Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) and the Asean Senior Official Meeting on Transnational Crime (SOMTC). It reflects the dedication of Asean members states to the principles outlined in Article 14 of the Asean Convention Against Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children (ACTIP), while also strengthening the framework in the Asean Multi-Sectoral Work Plan Against Trafficking in Persons (Bohol TIP Work Plan 2.0). Brunei Darussalam has implemented all 15 guidelines in the Asean Non-Punishment Guideline, demonstrating the nation's commitment in integrating this principle. The launch was followed by two days of discussions on the strategies and implementation of the guideline. Potential activities for regional implementation of the guideline were identified. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
