Love Island's Kaz slams Casey after his dramatic break-up with Gabby

The former Love Island star has made her thoughts on another ITV cast member known in the wake of a reality show winning couple's split when Maya Jama asked for her thoughts on Aftersun Love Island star Kaz Crossley took a thinly veiled swipe at Casey O'Gorman during the first episode of the new series of Love Island: Aftersun. Kaz appeared on the ITV spin-off show alongside her friend and fellow former Islander Gabby Allen, who recently ended her relationship with Casey just two months after they won Love Island: All Stars. The duo joined host Maya Jama for a chat on the Aftersun sofa, and the conversation quickly turned to Gabby's recent split. ‌ Maya asked the Love Island All Stars winner: "Gabby, what happened with you and Casey?" ‌ "How long have we got?" Gabby joked, before diplomatically adding: "You know what, not really that much to report. We're at very different stages in our lives." Kaz then chimed in with a pointed comment. She said: "Casey, he's a lovely boy — but emphasis on boy. I love Gabby, but a relationship, you just need a bit more depth. We're looking for our husbands." Fans soon took to X to comment on what they saw as a clear dig from Kaz, with one saying: "One thing about Kaz? She'll forever HATE Casey." Another laughed: "Not Kaz on Aftersun shading Casey." A third added: "Kaz clocking Casey." Gabby, 33, and Casey, 28, started their romance while coupled up on Love Island: All Stars earlier this year and were crowned winners in February. Since leaving the villa they have kept fans updated on their relationship after the show, but cracks began to show in recent weeks. ‌ Just days before the split was announced, Gabby spoke about her busy schedule at the BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises. When asked how things were going with Casey, she said: "So good! We had such a laugh yesterday." She added: "Obviously the sun is amazing and we went for drinks in the park with his mates and it was just so much fun." But she also admitted that juggling her love life and work commitments had been a challenge. "I have two businesses so I have to like try and juggle that. Which I don't have time to bloody see anyone, let alone have a boyfriend," she said. ‌ After growing speculation, the couple announced their break up in a joint statement, which read: "After much thoughtful consideration, Gabby and Casey have decided to go their separate ways romantically. This decision was mutual, and they both remain on good terms as friends with a shared respect for each other." Gabby added: "Gabby is grateful for the memories they've created together and wishes Casey nothing but the best as they both move forward on their individual journeys. She's excited for what the future holds." When the couple split a source told The Sun the pair had "a really good relationship" but realised they were focusing on different things. "They just knew it wasn't going to work anymore," the insider added.

Farmer who didn't let blindness stand in way of his dreams nominated for award

Happy animals and caring founders are at heart of The Inclusive Farm where they are making a career in agriculture possible and accessible for people with disabilities A farmer who refused to let blindness stand in the way of his dreams has been nominated for the new P&O Cruises Inspiration Award at Pride of Britain. Mike Duxbury, whose motto is 'I can't change the world, but I can change my world' is the driving force behind The Inclusive Farm. ‌ Working with his partner and co-founder Ness Shillito, 58, The Inclusive Farm is the only working livestock farm to be designed and built by a blind person and it welcomes people of all backgrounds and disabilities. ‌ 'The world is full of people who are in need of a better future,' says Mike, 57, who lost his sight at age six from infantile glaucoma. 'And this project is being done by somebody who experiences the day-to-day struggle like the people who come to the farm.' Mike is among thousands of public nominations for the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards with P&O Cruises, which celebrate the nation's unsung heroes. After meeting online, Mike and Ness wanted to make a job in agriculture more accessible for all disabled people. 'When I tell people how I met Ness – I said I was just looking for a new set of tyres for my car,' he laughs. 'Because, although I'm totally blind, I still have a real passion for cars.' Mike hasn't let anything stand in his way. 'From the age of seven I wanted to be a farmer, and that dream came true for me,' he says. ‌ 'There are many people who love animals and would like to work with them but never get the choice, now I use my knowledge of agriculture and diversity to help others and tell them 'never give up on your dreams.'' Every week students come to spend time at Inclusive Farm – and people from all over the world get in touch, because what Mike has created has never been done before. 'We also let schools and individuals come and get hands on. So, if you're visually impaired or totally blind, you will leave here knowing what a pig, sheep, or cow looks like.' ‌ READ MORE: Brave mums fighting scandal 'bigger than thalidomide' land Pride of Britain nomination Mike knows what it's like to feel rejected by society. 'I went through a period myself in the late 20s where I made over 500 job applications and got not a single reply,' he admits. It made him more determined than ever to help people like him. 'I see so many people who are so talented and have so much to give and are left on the scrapheap. We had one lad come through the farm,' he recalls. 'He was very quiet and didn't want to do the farm. After two years he was one of our supervisor trainees.' The couple started with a self-funded one-acre plot, of a ragwort-riddled bare field, in Steppingley, Bedfordshire, and transformed it into a working farm with pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs and even cows. ‌ 'I'm a livestock farmer but my main passion is pigs,' says Mike. 'My pigs are so well looked after, they love rolling over to get their bellies tickled. Somebody once said to me, 'Mike, if you had time to give them cocoa at night, you would.' 'Also, happy animals are safe animals. I am very aware of health and safety risks. And my system and method might be slightly different, but we get the same result.' He explains some of the ways he's adapted his farm, saying: 'I keep younger animals so I don't have big cattle on the farm. Each pen has a fence that's different to feel. So I know with one touch where I am on the farm. ‌ 'I use electric vehicles so I can hear and take instruction without the noise of a diesel engine over the top. 'And I also have textures on the floor, so when I'm carrying a bale of hay, my feet tell me that I'm getting close to where the pens are – simple things like that.' Having now been gifted a second, larger site in Aberdeenshire, where the couple are based, Mike completely designed the new farm himself - making it purpose built for people with disabilities. ‌ 'The builders think it's hilarious that a blind man has designed the building!' laughs Mike. 'But it's little things like there's no steps in the building, and it was flooring that deadens disorientating acoustics, and sliding doors for people in wheelchairs.' Mirror reader Mike says: 'I like to read the Daily Mirror online – so it's my newspaper. And if we win this award, I would dedicate it to all the people and companies who've shown us so much kindness and support.' Do you know an amazing person who has made a difference to the world? If you do, please consider nominating them for a Pride of Britain award. ‌ How to nominate Extraordinary people like Mike have been at the heart of Pride of Britain over the past 26 years. ‌ The new P&O Cruises Inspiration Award will celebrate a remarkable individual or group who inspires everyone around them, or the wider world, with their positive spirit and awe-inspiring journey to achieve, or overcome adversity. Flood hero who rescued submerged car driver nominated for Pride of Britain award

Brave pub landlord didn't hesitate to wade out into dangerous freezing waters and carry woman from submerged car to safety after she was trapped for two and a half hours A courageous publican who braved icy January flood water and carried a woman to safety from her submerged car has been nominated for a Pride of Britain Outstanding Bravery award. Ignoring any personal danger, Cimi Kazazi, whose flooded gastropub, as well as surrounding houses in Great Glen, Leicestershire, were devastated by the deluge, waded out to the 63-year-old woman - who was trapped in her car close to death - and saved her life. ‌ Yet he was speechless when he heard that, from thousands of life-saving champions, he had been nominated by a member of the public for this year's Outstanding Bravery category at Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards with P&O Cruises. ‌ The modest hero told The Mirror: 'Wow, I'm honoured. But I must tell you, it was the lady next to my office who first noticed the person trapped in the car, and she shouted, 'Jimmy, Jimmy, somebody needs help'.' Alerted to the floods in the early hours on Monday January 6 by a neighbour, Mr Kazazi had been making sure people staying in his pub were safe, when he plunged into the swirling flood water to save the stranded woman. 'I didn't know at the time, but the driver had already been trapped there for two and a half hours in the dark, and she told me that another 15 minutes and she would have passed out from hypothermia,' he said. He had gone to the pub after a neighbour called him at home to tell him the ground floor was under water. READ MORE: Pride of Britain launches with huge party as Florrie Bark shares hope for future 'I was worried as we had people staying upstairs in the pub, so I needed to go and check the power was off and that they were safe,' he said. ‌ 'But when I arrived at 5.30am, it was still dark and raining and snowing at the same time. The water must have been -5 degrees. It was freezing and my legs felt paralysed.' Twice he waded into the water to get to his property and help people. It was getting light and he was changing into dry clothes in his office when the trapped driver was spotted. He recalled: 'I was drying myself when I heard my name called, so I just went… boom… straight away. I didn't think about how I was going to get her out. And also, when I went back into the water for the third time, I didn't feel the cold.' ‌ The rising water levels meant the stranded car was dangerously close to being submerged. 'I didn't think about it at the time, but I couldn't see what was under the water,' he said. 'Not only was it freezing, but heavy benches had been completely moved by torrents of water. They were twisted like there had been a tornado. ‌ 'But I kept going and when I got to the car, the lady looked at me with disbelief because the water was nearly to the top of the glass. She opened her car door and I just lifted her up and took her back to the pub.' READ MORE: Brave mums fighting scandal 'bigger than thalidomide' land Pride of Britain nomination Upstairs, on the top floor of the pub, Mr Kazazi and some of the people staying there, helped to get her warm. 'We had spare radiators in case the hotel rooms lost power, so we surrounded her with radiators and hot drinks and food and waited for help,' he said. 'But emergency rescue services couldn't come with boats until the water had subsided by 9am, so I know the water must have been very dangerous. ‌ 'And when I was told another 15 minutes and she would have died, that's when I felt proud.' The rescued woman showed her thanks by visiting the flood rescuers and bringing food for 30-40 volunteers. ‌ Mr Kazazi was grateful for all the help his business was given. 'We had hundreds of people come and help clean up, and we opened our doors again to business after 11 days,' he said. 'I'm embarrassed, because now I have customers clapping me and postcards from all over the world congratulating me.' Previous awards in this category have gone to mum Emily Greenwood, who swam out into dangerous riptides to save a boy and a man. And, the previous year, lorry driver John Rastrick pulled a woman from a burning car seconds before it exploded on the motorway. ‌ Do you know a brave hero who has saved someone's life without a thought for their own?
