'Karma is unforgivable': Ignored Indian speedster's cryptic post goes VIRAL after Harshit Rana gets green light in England

Harshit Rana. New Delhi: With Harshit Rana being the 19th player in India to join their England tour, one of the India A players (who were also on tour in England) posted a cryptic Instagram story that promptly led to speculation between fans, on social media. Mukesh Kumar has played three Test matches and had made his debut for India before Harshit Rana; the former expressed a strongly worded statement on Instagram. Both Mukesh and Harshit appeared in the first unofficial Test between India A and the England Lions and it was where Mukesh performed better. The game drew since England Lions batted once only, and in this case, the Indian bowlers had that one chance to set something at Canterbury. During the same game play, Mukesh Kumar bowled 25 overs, giving away 92 runs and grabbing three wickets, of which two were members of the top six, including Max Holden, who scored a century. In comparison, Harshit Rana went 27 overs, conceded 99 runs, and could only take one wicket, the one of number 10 Josh Hull. Mukesh Kumar and Harshit Rana did not play the second unofficial Test and this gave Khaleel Ahmed and Tushar Deshpande their chance. With regards to the intra-squad match between India A and the senior team, the scoreboard was not published and hence it is not clear how both players fared in the game. 'Karma Bides its time. You will always have to watch out. Karma is unforgiving and always get payback,' wrote Mukesh on Instagram. Mukesh Kumar's story after Harshit Rana's late selection in India's squad when Mukesh & Kamboj got ignored with far better performances in India A games. — Rajiv (@Rajiv1841) June 18, 2025 Firstly Anshul Kamboj deserves a chance and if they went with experience, then Lord Mukesh should've been in the squad in place of Harshit Rana. This is clear politics. — Div🦁 (@div_yumm) June 18, 2025 Mukesh Kumar debuted in all three forms of the Indian team in the July-August 2023 tour of Australia. He has not represented the national team in any form since July last year, when he was in a T20I series against Zimbabwe. His last Test appearance was in November 2023. Interestingly, Mukesh Kumar has not represented India ever since Gautam Gambhir was appointed as the head coach in the Sri Lanka trip last year in July. In the case of Harshit, he got his Test cap in India last November against Australia when the Indian side registered a very successful win in Perth. He later made his debut in T20I and ODI Cricket in a home series against England. Harshit featured in India 2025 Champions Trophy winning team, and played two matches.

Kol flight op concern: AAI flags buildings, hoardings, tall trees

Kolkata: Unauthorised high-rises, water tanks, mobile towers, and lightning arresters are among multiple obstacles flagged by Kolkata airport authorities as threats to flights moving into and out of the city. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now "In the latest Obstacle Limitation Surface (OLS) study, which analyses obstacles around an airport that could interfere with flight operations and pose a threat to safety, 377 hazards were identified in the flight path. Of these, 90 obstacles, like light posts, hoardings, and tall trees were removed. However, several other serious obstacles, including buildings with unauthorised floors and tanks that have encroached into the flight path, need to be removed. We submitted a list to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and are awaiting the order," an Airports Authority of India (AAI) official said. Of particular concern are high-rise residential buildings that have come up in Narayanpur adjoining the airport, and in Kaikhali and New Town that are directly in the take-off funnel. The issue was discussed in the Airfield Environment Management Committee (AEMC) meeting on May 23, chaired by state home secretary Nandini Chakravorty. Among those present were Bidhannagar police commissioner Mukesh Kumar and representatives from PWD, the urban development department, Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC), and neighbouring municipalities. The largest type of obstacles identified were buildings — 118 of them. Of these, only 15 cases were addressed by demolishing the floor that encroached on the airspace. "The 103 obstacles still remain, including a site in Kaikhali that was constructed away from the site for which it was granted permission, leading to the infringement," the airport official said. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The issue assumes added d urgency in the wake of the plane crash at Ahmedabad on Thursday afternoon. Though the Dreamliner aircraft lost altitude after take-off due to either engine failure, pilot error, or aerodynamic stalls, the incident has brought the threat from obstacles at Kolkata airport into focus. The OLS study also flagged concern about lightning arresters in Rajarhat and New Town, hoardings near BT College More, and mobile towers in Michaelnagar and New Ba-rrackpore. Even pruning tall trees that impinge into airspace is a challenge, with municipal authorities citing delays in obtaining forest department authorisation. Civic bodies in and around the airport have asked Kolkata airport to provide GPS coordinates for trees marked for pruning. Madhyamgram municipality and Rohanda gram panchayat have removed 52 tall trees. Cash for bail case: Rouse Avenue Court record keeper takes back Delhi HC bail petition

NEW DELHI: A record keeper (ahlmad) posted at Rouse Avenue Court, accused of accepting bribes from undertrials to secure bail, has withdrawn his anticipatory bail plea from the Delhi High Court. Mukesh Kumar, who is under investigation by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB), withdrew his plea on Wednesday, the day arguments were scheduled. Justice Tejas Karia allowed the withdrawal, granting liberty to file a fresh plea in the future. Appearing for Kumar, Advocate Ayush Jain requested the Court to direct the ACB to issue proper notice under Section 41 of the Criminal Procedure Code before requiring the accused to join the investigation. He also sought permission for an advocate to be present during Kumar's statement. The ACB, represented by Additional Standing Counsel Sanjeev Bhandari, assured the Court that all legal procedures would be followed. The bail withdrawal comes amidst growing scrutiny. The High Court had recently transferred a Special Judge of the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act from Rouse Avenue to North-West Rohini after the allegations against Kumar surfaced. Kumar was booked by the ACB on May 16 under Sections 7 and 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, as well as under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. According to the agency, he allegedly demanded and accepted bribes from accused persons in return for facilitating their bail.

Body of Charkhi Dadri youth found in Canada, family demands probe

The family of 22-year-old Sahil Kumar, whose body was found in a Lake in Canada, has urged the Canadian government to probe the death from murder angle. Sahil Kumar, of Charkhi Dadri's Dohka village, went to Canada on a study visa in April and enrolled in Humber College. He went to college on May 17 after which he went missing. His uncle Mukesh Kumar said the Hamilton police had recovered the body of Sahil from a lake on May 27 and later his identification was done. 'We can't accept that he drowned to death because he was a good swimmer. His body will be brought back to India within two days. We urge the Indian government to raise the issue with their Canadian counterpart. The government should provide some financial assistance to the family as his father Harish Kumar, a retired army personnel, spent his entire savings of ₹40 lakh in sending him abroad,' he added.

Lalitpur jail supdt suspended for VIP treatment to ex-MP Rizwan Zaheer

Lucknow: The prisons department on Friday suspended the superintendent of Lalitpur district jail, Mukesh Kumar, after an internal probe confirmed that former Samajwadi Party MP Rizwan Zaheer was given VIP treatment in custody. The action comes in the wake of disciplinary proceedings already initiated against six other jail staff, taking the total number of officials facing action in the case to seven. Deputy jailer Jai Narayan Bharti was suspended earlier this week, while recommendations for disciplinary action against jailer Jeevan Singh and others have been forwarded to the state govt. Three warders were also suspended. The crackdown followed a surprise inspection on May 31 by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) secretary Mayank Jaiswal in which luxury items were found in Zaheer's barracks. These included a mattress, battery-powered fan, desi ghee pickles, shampoo, branded creams, and Rs 7,500 cash. In his defence, superintendent Mukesh Kumar claimed that Zaheer, a cardiac patient, was prescribed a soft mattress by doctors. However, the explanation failed to justify the presence of other banned items. Additional IG (prisons) Dharmendra Singh ordered a probe led by DIG (prisons), Kanpur Range. The report held Kumar prima facie responsible for allowing undue privileges to the high-profile inmate. Zaheer, a former MP from Balrampur and a history-sheeter, has been in judicial custody since July 2022 for allegedly conspiring to murder ex-panchayat chairman Firoz Ahmad alias Pappu. He faces 14 serious charges, including murder, attempt to murder, and violations under the Arms Act and the Gangsters Act.
