Urgent warning for Apple, Facebook & Google users to change passwords now People who use Apple, Facebook and Google have been urged to change their passwords following the largest ever data breach, which has exposed a staggering 16 billion logins. The data leak, which also affects logins for Instagram, Microsoft, Netflix, PayPal, Roblox, Discord, Telegram, GitHub, has given cybercriminals and hackers "unprecedented access to personal credentials" Government services in more than 29 countries were also targeted in the attack, which were most likely obtained with infostealer malware, which can infiltrate systems and steal sensitive information like login details. CyberNews researchers said that another alternative was that the data was collected by ethical hackers to spot flaws in the system. This breach shows how an astronomical number of people are likely continuing to use compromised accounts, making them more at risk of cybercrime. Criminals use personal information to take over accounts, steal identities, and carry out targeted phishing attacks, CyberNews adds. Researchers said in their report: "This is not just a leak – it's a blueprint for mass exploitation. With over 16billion login records exposed, cybercriminals now have unprecedented access to personal credentials that can be used for account takeover, identity theft, and highly targeted phishing." Assisted dying law passes Commons in historic moment In a historic moment in the Commons today, MPs voted to back a landmark bill to change the law on assisted dying in England and Wales. They voted by 314 in favour of the legislation to 291 against - a majority of 23 - as supporters of assisted dying jumped and hugged each other outside Parliament. It means the controversial legislation - spearheaded by the Labour MP Kim Leadbeater - will now pass to the House of Lords where it will be debated by peers. The Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill aims to give terminally ill people over the age 18 with just six months left to live the option to end their life early. Their decision must be "clear, settled and informed" at every stage - and free from coercion. It must also be subject to approval by two doctors and an expert panel featuring a social worker, senior legal figure and psychiatrist. Assisted dying is currently banned and carries a maximum prison sentence of 14 years. Met Office issues thunderstorm warning with 'flash flood' risk despite heatwave Sun-loving Brits are in for a disappointment, as the Met Office has issued a thunderstorm warning which is set to temporarily break the scorching heatwave. Our Weather team has covered the yellow warning, which is in place from 3pm tomorrow until 4am Sunday morning in the East Midlands, North East England, North West England, Wales, West Midlands and Yorkshire & Humber. The storms could cause sudden flooding that could in turn make the roads difficult to navigate. There could be some road closures as a result, the forecaster added. The flooding could also leave some communities isolated as roads are cut off. The Met Office said that power cuts were also a possibility, with the potential for services to homes and businesses being lost. In the event of lightning strikes, there could be bus and train cancellations in the affected areas. In a statement, it said: "Whilst many places will likely remain dry and unaffected, scattered thunderstorms may develop during Saturday afternoon, lasting through the evening hours, moving northeastwards before eventually clearing to the North Sea by the early hours of Sunday. "The most intense thunderstorms could produce frequent lightning, large hail and gusty winds, along with some heavy downpours for a time. This may lead to some surface water impacts in places. Consider if your location is at risk of flash flooding. If so, consider preparing a flood plan and an emergency flood kit." Tory council chief sparks outrage with 'poor people' steak dinner joke In other news, our Politics team has reported on the Tory council chief who is facing calls to quit after posting a picture with the caption: "Wonder what all the poor people are doing?" Norfolk County Council leader Kay Mason Billig posted the photograph of her meal with a £21 bottle of Italian red wine, potatoes in peppercorn sauce and salad to her Facebook friends. But the caption sparked a furious reaction, with tens of thousands of people in Norfolk forced to rely on food banks and her own council runs an £11.8m fund to help people struggling to afford to eat. Mrs Mason Billig, who is entitled to more than £51,000 in allowances from County Hall each year, told the EDP website the sharing of the post beyond her friends was a "personal attack" and a private joke had been misunderstood. However, Steve Morphew, leader of the Labour group at County Hall, said: "People like to have council leaders who show they are in touch, care about the plight of others and show humility and pride in the public positions they hold. This is a nauseating example of the exact opposite. I find nothing amusing here." Multiple primary school children injured after 'mass casualty incident' Finally, our News team has been closely following a disturbing incident in Berlin, where almost 40 children were injured at a primary school after tear gas was sprayed on site. Emergency services rushed to Miriam Makeba School in the city of Moabit at around 9am this morning. Multiple kids complained of shortness of breath and eye irritation after the substance was used in the hallway. Police, firefighters and medics attended the scene and treated 37 pupils. Officials evacuated the building in response to the incident. Worried parents raced to the school to check on their children. An investigation has since been launched into the mass casualty. Police said they are investigating the incident under causing bodily harm, reports BZ Berlin. A spokesperson for the fire services said: "We cared for 37 children and provided outpatient care; none of the children required hospital treatment."

Brit mum dies of rabies in UK after being scratched by stray puppy on holiday Since the news broke of a Brit dying of rabies earlier this Wednesday, our news team have been tracking down full details of the heartbreaking story. The mum, who contracted the disease after being scratched "very slightly" by a puppy in Morocco, has now been named and pictured. Yvonne Ford, from Barnsley, was diagnosed in Yorkshire and The Humber after returning home from the trip and developing mild symptoms that eventually worsened, resulting in her losing her ability to walk, talk and swallow. Her devastated loved-ones wrote in a post on Facebook: "Our family is still processing this unimaginable loss, but we are choosing to speak up in the hope of preventing this from happening to others. Yvonne Ford, Ron Ford's wife and our Mum, died of rabies. "She was scratched very slightly by a puppy in Morocco in February. At the time, she did not think any harm would come of it and didn't think much of it. Two weeks ago she became ill, starting with a headache and resulted in her losing her ability to walk, talk, sleep, swallow. Resulting in her passing." The Government will bring forward self-driving commercial pilots on England's roads to Spring 2026, transport Secretary Heidi Alexander confirmed today. Firms will be able to pilot small scale 'taxi- and bus-like' services without a driver for the first time, which could be available to members of the public to book via an app. Uber will trial robotaxis - autonomous cars - in a partnership with UK AI firm Wayve in London as soon as next spring. Ministers said the driverless car expansion could create 38,000 jobs and a £42billion industry. A potential wider rollout is expected when the full Automated Vehicles (AV) Act becomes law from the second half of 2027. Driverless vehicles aim to reduce human error, which contributes to 88% of all road collisions. Unlike human drivers, AVs can never get distracted or tired and they won't drink-drive or speed. Madeleine McCann cops find 'clothing and bones' as they probe samples from dig In a breaking update, our News team reported that police are investigating samples of 'clothes and bones' found in last week's search for Madeleine McCann, it is claimed. On Thursday, a team of German and Portuguese investigators wrapped up a three-day search along a 120-acre stretch of land in Lagos, Portugal, in their latest attempt to find new evidence against prime suspect Christian Brueckner. Initial reports suggested the operation - which took place 30 miles from where the three-year-old went missing in May 2007 - had failed to turn up any new leads. But now, it has been claimed that fragments of clothing and bones are to undergo testing this week after being uncovered at the scene. During the search - the first to take place since 2023 - crews spent three days scouring scrubland and abandoned structures, including a derelict farmhouse. A source told Berlin Morning Post: 'Several objects have apparently been discovered, which are now being examined in more detail by the police in the laboratory. 'As Portuguese media report, clothing debris and bones were found, among other things. The investigators have not officially commented on whether the finds could have anything to do with Madeleine's disappearance but that is clearly their hope.' Met Office details exact day half a month's rain to batter UK in three hours After a brief sunny spell, Brits can expect around half a typical month's rainfall across parts of the UK this week, the Met Office has forecasted. The "intense rainfall" - of up to 40mm - is anticipated across south Wales and Southwest England and will be slow moving, lingering into Thursday. Thunderstorms are also likely during the deluge, which the Met Office says is expected on Wednesday evening. Met Office deputy chief meteorologist, Mike Silverstone, said: "After largely benign weather early in the week, some intense, thundery showers will move in on Wednesday evening. These thunderstorms are being triggered by some warm, humid air that is moving into the UK from the south. "The intense rainfall could see 20-40mm accumulating over just a few hours, which could cause some disruption. While there are no severe weather warnings issued at the moment, it is possible thunderstorm warnings may be issued this week." Brit couple found with £1m of cannabis in luggage in latest 'drug mule' fears Finally, a couple have been charged with trying to smuggle cannabis valued at £1million into the UK after being stopped at Heathrow Airport, our News team have reported. Sian Warren, 34, and Daniel McDonald, 36, were on their way back from Thailand when officers from the National Crime Agency reportedly found more than 51kg of cannabis in their luggage. It is understood that the drug was in four cases that the pair were carrying. They appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court where they have been charged with importing Class B drugs and have been bailed under curfew ahead of a plea hearing on June 26 at Isleworth Crown Court. Warren and McDonald, from Salford, went to Bangkok on holiday last month and Warren's dad Tony told The Sun that there must have been a mistake. The young boy was found in the pool without a pulse, according to local news outlet Diario de Ibiza.
