Huge Millie twist confirmed in Coronation Street early ITVX streaming release
This article contains spoilers for tonight's Coronation Street, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on ITVX. Millie Silverton (Kaitlyn Earley) has been determined to bring dad Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) back home, and tonight's Coronation Street revealed just how far she was prepared to go to get her own way. Millie's family life was torn apart when Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson) discovered that husband Theo was having an affair with Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce). With Theo having moved in with Todd, Millie has tried her utmost to get him to move back in with the family – to no avail. In recent scenes, she left Todd and her parents stunned when she revealed that she was pregnant. However, in tonight's episode, a shock twist revealed that she had been lying. Todd was left dumbfounded when Theo asked Millie to stay with them longer, after the teen explained how Danielle's fussing over the unborn baby had been stressing her out. Reasoning that Danielle was better equipped to deal with a teen pregnancy, Todd asked Millie if she felt she'd be better off at home, and she readily agreed. More Trending However, when Theo returned home, Millie made out that Todd had turfed her out, causing tension between the couple. After they argued about something else, Millie goaded Todd about how much easier he was making her job of tearing them apart by pushing Theo away himself. That evening, while on the phone to her brother, Millie explained that she would do anything to reunite their family – before purchasing a fake baby bump online! Council to consider using AI to cut costs and improve service
Renfrewshire Council will consider how artificial intelligence (AI) can cut costs and improve service delivery after the 'success' of its digital adviser, Millie. The local authority will embark upon an AI transformation assessment, including commissioning an AI partner, so it can gain a 'clearer understanding' of how the technology can make the organisation more efficient. This process aims to support the development of a business case that will outline 'the scale of opportunity' and priorities for building on Millie, which launched in November and has attracted mixed feedback. The state of play was set out in a report on the council's transformation and change programme, which also confirmed a 'working relationship' with Derby City Council to share best practice with the leadership board on Wednesday. It said: 'Based on Millie's success so far and the learning established from the AI innovation being progressed by Derby City Council (and other authorities across the UK), it is planned to progress an AI transformation assessment across the council over the coming months, which will involve, as a first step, commissioning an AI partner via an appropriate procurement route. 'Through a series of stakeholder engagement, workshops, data analysis, financial validation solution demonstrations and trials, this AI transformation assessment will give the council a clearer understanding of how AI solutions can enhance efficiency, reduce costs and improve service delivery. 'This critical initial assessment stage will support the development of a full business case that is intended to be brought back to a future board for detailed consideration later in the year. 'The business case will provide a clear understanding of the scale of opportunity and the key priorities for building on the success of Millie and progressing the council's sector-leading development of AI capability.' Councillor Graeme Clark, a Labour representative for Paisley Northeast and Ralston, said at the meeting: 'I'm glad that this council has committed to using AI as part of its services, as part of the transformation assessment. 'Do we have an estimate of the savings that AI may bring to the council through that commitment?' Council chief executive Alan Russell responded: 'That business case process will help us understand your question. 'I would be slightly uncomfortable committing to even an indication of that at the moment. 'It's a rapidly developing area, and I think the opportunities will continue to grow. 'The report does note that we are working closely with Derby City Council down south, who are a bit further ahead in the journey than us. 'I think that's very helpful. They've been very accommodating and open to working with us in partnership. 'They're maybe about a year or so ahead of us in that journey, they do have AI transformation as a key part of their transformation programme, which is looking to deliver several million pounds of efficiency savings, and they're well down the road on that. 'But no two organisations are the same, and we need to understand how it will work for Renfrewshire and, in terms of our circumstances, how we deliver services here. 'I've got no doubt it does provide the potential to deliver a step change in how we use that technology and how it supports the workforce to do all of our jobs better and support delivery of better outcomes.' Popular film franchise spin-off descends into chaos as stars and crew are wiped out with food poisoning
Something's afoot on the set of Millie Bobby Brown's latest Sherlock Holmes spin–off Enola Holmes — and it's not been pretty. I'm told that after the cast and crew headed to Malta for filming, the set descended into chaos after a bit of dodgy catering wiped some of them out with food poisoning. From covering ground to covering crackers
Top Gore runner Millie McFadzien, 17, has turned her athletic advancement to food design, creating and marketing a smoked eel pate made from Southern-caught tuna. The St Peter's College student has had a successful week, pitching her pate to business experts in Invercargill and placing in the top 10 at a national cross-country competition days later. Millie finished ninth out of 120 runners in the senior girls 4000m race at the secondary schools cross-country championships in Whangarei on Saturday, with a time of 15min 29sec. Days earlier, Southland Business Chamber members were "blown away" by her pitch for the eel pate, she said. It was initially her father's idea, after seeing something similar on an episode of Country Calendar . She then engaged supplier Waituna Eel with an idea to resell its Lake Ellesmere eels on the international market, but was redirected to the idea of a pate by company chief executive Calvin Claridge. Millie then connected with Invercargill chef Ethan Flack and together they devised a recipe. "It's good on crackers and all that," she said. Her marketing company is called The Lost Larder and the agency Naked Creative has donated its time, creating the label and olive-green brand design. Millie was also fortunate to have the support of Southland signwriter Creation Signs who made her two pull-up banners, T-shirts and labelling for the pitch. Bluff fisheries company Ocean Beach also gave her some start-up funds for the project. The project is part of her school business class, as well as the national Young Enterprise scheme competition, which is a charity-funded programme that fosters and provides mentoring for business ideas of senior high school students for a year. Millie has ideas for other rare edible products under The Lost Larder, such as rabbit heart pate. She is looking to engage a food scientist to list the nutritional information on the packaged product, and potentially an industrial kitchen to seriously carry on with this venture. She has that to look forward to along with her running, as her top-10 finish meant she qualified for the NZ Secondary Schools Team that will compete on the Gold Coast, Queensland in September. Of her race on Saturday, she said it was "quite tough" as the course was steep, hilly and muddy. The following day, her Southland mixed team won the relay race, as well. Pre-orders for the eel pate can be sent to thelostlarder@
