BTN analyst says prepare for a 'different', more versatile Coen Carr this upcoming season "We will see a different Coen Carr this season. It could get scary if that ball handling has improved like his jumper."
Carson Cooper told me Monday that we will see a different Coen Carr this season.

One Big Ten hoops analyst has reportedly heard it's time to prepare for a "different" Coen Carr this upcoming season.
If you follow Michigan State basketball (or really college basketball as a whole), you know that Carr can throw down some of the best dunks out there and has pure incredible unmatched athletic ability. However, the focus to improve his shooting and ball handling has apparently been on display this offseason, with Rapheal Davis of the Big Ten Network recently saying he's heard positive things around this part of his game.
According to Davis, he said he has recently heard from Carr's Spartan teammate Carson Cooper "that we will see a different Coen Carr this season." Davis went on to add that "it could get scary if that ball handling has improved like (Carr's) jumper." These statements from Davis were posted on social media platform X after quote tweeting a highlight post of Carr during what appears to be offseason workouts.
You can see the full post from Davis and the accompanying highlights below:
Carr showed significant improvements in his all-around game this past season, jumping from 3.1 points to 8.1 points and 1.8 rebounds to 3.6 rebounds per game from his freshman to his sophomore season. It was clear early in the season that Carr was no longer just a highlight-generator and more of a complete basketball player at the Big Ten level. Carr is expected to be one of the top players on the Spartans' squad next year, and his need to meet those expectations only grew this week with the news of Kaleb Glenn's injury.
If Carr can truly take the next step with his ball handling and outside shooting, then he will be an All-Big Ten selection next year. I'm very confident in that statement, and hearing this kind of feedback about Carr's growth excites me for what's to come this upcoming season.

BREAKING: Oregon Ducks land commitment from 5-star S Jett Washington

The Oregon Ducks are officially on a recruiting hot streak. After landing 4-star wide receiver Messiah Hampton on Friday morning, Dan Lanning and his squad followed it up with a massive addition, getting a commitment from 5-star safety Jett Washington. Advertisement Standing at 6-foot-5, 200 pounds, Washington is rated by 247Sports as the No. 18 player and No. 2 safety in the 2026 class. Washington is Oregon's second safety committed in the 2026 class, joining 4-star Xavier Lherisse. Washington was in Eugene last weekend for his official visit, and he had rave reviews after leaving Eugene. He was one of six 5-star players in town during the first weekend of June, joining the likes of S Joey O'Brien, EDGE Ricahed Wesley, WR Calvin Russell, CB Brandon Arrington, and LB Tyler Atkinson. Oregon had the No. 33-ranked class in the 2026 cycle before the addition of Washington, but they jumped up to No. 22 after adding the second 5-star recruit to their class. Going forward, there is a feeling that this hot streak will continue for Oregon, with a number of high-profile recruits coming to town this month for their visits. The Ducks are in good standing for the likes of 5-stars Ryder Lyons, Immanue Iheanacho, Anthony Jones, Calvin Russell, and many others. Wisconsin great Braelon Allen holds a notable NFL record entering 2025 season

Wisconsin great Braelon Allen holds a notable NFL record entering 2025 season The most rush yards in NFL history before these ages... What jumps out about this list? 🤔 — NFL on CBS 🏈 (@NFLonCBS) June 19, 2025 Wisconsin fans grew used to hearing about Braelon Allen's age during his terrific three-year college career. The Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin, native joined the program a year early after reclassifying from the class of 2022 to 2021. That move meant he joined the program as a 17-year-old true freshman, a fact that became universally known when the Badgers' season kicked off that fall. Allen burst onto the scene immediately during that true freshman campaign, taking 186 carries for 1,268 yards and 12 touchdowns. His emergence one month into the season directly correlated with the Badgers' seven-game win streak and in-season resurgence. Thanks to the ESPN and Fox broadcast teams, Allen's age became synonymous with the team's success. The talented running back went on to play in 35 games over three seasons with the Badgers. He took 597 total carries for 3,494 yards and 35 touchdowns. At only 20 years old, Allen entered the draft after his junior season, where the New York Jets selected him with the No. 134 overall pick. That leads to Allen's current NFL record. 20-year-old prospects rarely enter the professional ranks, given the three-year requirement between high school graduation and NFL draft declaration. A player would need to enter college at 17, which Allen did, then perform well enough to declare before their senior season. Allen, who didn't turn 21 until January 20, was the only 20-year-old in the NFL last season. Thus, it should be no surprise that he is currently the league's all-time leader in rushing yards before the age of 21. Allen carried the football 92 times for 334 yards and two touchdowns as a rookie with the Jets in 2024, primarily operating as the backup to starter Breece Hall. Allen and Hall should continue to form a 1-2 punch for the Jets in 2025. The former Badger's league record should hold for some time. Moving forward, it will be interesting to watch whether he can surpass any other legendary name on this list. For reference, Ezekiel Elliott totaled an NFL-best 1,631 yards as a 21-year-old rookie in 2016. Allen would need a 1,300-yard output in 2025 to reach that mark.
