Key findings: The proportion of the UK that is 'White British' will drop from 73% today to 57% in 2050 and 34% in 2100 The non-white proportion will increase from 20% to 59% by 2100 19% of the UK will be Muslim by 2100 Hard to imagine that Japan would (for example) have an immigration policy where native Japanese would become a minority in Japan within two generations.

If white British people become a minority, the Left will be in serious trouble
Within the next 40 years, white British people will become a minority in this country. And by the year 2100, they'll account for only a third of the population. So predicted Professor Matt Goodwin of Buckingham University in a report this week. And, ever since, I've been pondering an intriguing question. If his prediction comes to pass, will the Left still support DEI? After all, the whole point of DEI – the progressive doctrine of 'diversity, equity and inclusion' – is to benefit minorities. So, if white British people become a minority, will Left-wing activists throw all their righteous energies into championing them? Perhaps they'll insist that job adverts give priority to applicants who are white British. And order schools to celebrate White British History Month. And, when political parties are seeking election candidates, demand that they increase white British representation by adopting all-white British shortlists. Equally, perhaps they'll call on the BBC to cast white British actors in non-white British roles. And argue that all non-white workers should undergo unconscious bias training, to check that they aren't harbouring prejudice against the white British community – or, as they're properly known, People of No Colour. I suppose it's possible. But, for some reason, I have a funny feeling they'll decide there's no longer any need for DEI – because, once the white British are a small minority, true social justice will finally have been achieved. In 2016, the late Canadian comedian Norm MacDonald told the greatest satirical joke of our age. It went like this. 'What terrifies me is if Isis were to donate a nuclear device and kill 50 million Americans. Imagine the backlash against peaceful Muslims?' A perfect skewering of 21st-century liberal priorities. I'm reminded of it often. For example, whenever there's a debate in the Commons or on the BBC about the grooming gangs scandal – and the talk, as always, turns swiftly to the dangers of Islamophobia. This week, I was reminded of that sublimely dark joke once again. And it was thanks to a truly mind-boggling article in the newspaper USA Today. Last Sunday, in the Colorado city of Boulder, a firebombing attack was launched on a group of Jewish people who had gathered to raise awareness of Israeli hostages in Gaza. Following the arrest, at the scene, of a 45-year-old Egyptian migrant who allegedly told police he wanted to 'kill all Zionist people', immigration officials began taking steps to deport his family, who are also Egyptian migrants. And how did USA Today choose to cover this development? By publishing a piece with the tear-jerking headline, 'Boulder Suspect's Daughter Dreamed of Studying Medicine. Now She Faces Deportation.' Beneath this headline we were informed that 18-year-old Habiba had recently won a 'Best and Brightest scholarship', and 'written about her hope of accomplishing great things'. Well, I suppose it's only natural that a newspaper would wish to focus on Habiba's plight. Because of course she's the real victim here. After a backlash from thousands of staggered readers, USA Today revised the article on its website, to give at least a little more prominence to the firebombing attack and the members of the public who were seriously injured in it – including an 88-year-old Holocaust survivor. Anyway, I hope that the newspaper's journalists aren't feeling too sad about the crushing of Habiba's dreams. Because I've got some wonderful news for them. Incredible though it may sound, the US isn't the only country on Earth where it's possible to study medicine. In fact, it can even be studied in Egypt. So there's really no need for Habiba to miss out. And if she doesn't fancy Egypt, there's an exciting alternative. She and her family can simply come and live in Britain. Here, after all, they can rest safe in the knowledge that we never deport anyone. More and more MPs, reports the BBC, are deciding against the legalisation of assisted suicide – or, to use the term preferred by its supporters, 'assisted dying'. These MPs say they supported the idea in principle, but now reluctantly concede that the bill lacks adequate safeguards. Good on them. But I hope that the many MPs who still support the bill will consider another crucial argument against. Which is that, if they legalise assisted suicide, the criteria for eligibility will inevitably widen, as it has in other Western countries. And so, in due course, we could end up like the Netherlands – where, last year, a woman in her 20s was granted an assisted suicide. She wasn't terminally ill. In fact, she wasn't physically ill at all. She was just depressed. It's chilling that the state would agree to such a request. But that's the sort of scenario we could easily see here. It'll be like a dystopian inversion of the Samaritans. If you tell the Samaritans that you're so depressed you want to die, its staff will do everything they can to dissuade you. But if you tell the state that you're so depressed you want to die, it'll say: 'Certainly, we'll book you straight in. Can you do Tuesday, 10 past three?' White Brits Will Be a Minority in UK Within 40 Years, Report Predicts
White Brits will become a minority in the UK by the year 2063, according to a new report which predicts that at least one in five people living in the country will be Muslim by the turn of the century. Authored by Professor Matt Goodwin, an academic and political commentator, the report uses data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) and the census to analyse the rapidly shifting demographics in the UK amid growing concern about immigration and the falling birth rate in the British-born white population. In conjunction with the University of Buckinghamshire, Goodwin's analysis of migration, birth, and death rates up until the end of the 21st century predicts that the proportion of white British people will decline from 73 percent to 57 percent by 2050, before becoming the minority by 2063. Majority Feel 'Unsettled' Goodwin, a presenter for GB News, told The Epoch Times that the findings of his report point to 'the dramatic scale and pace of change that is now going to unfold in the UK. Some people will not see this as an issue, but a much larger majority of people will feel very unsettled by the fact that white Brits are set to become a minority.' He added that it is not only white British people who will be disconcerted by the rapidly shifting demographics and the accompanying cultural shifts. 'Minority Britons will also feel concerned about the change because we know that they too identify with the dominant group, and they like the idea of Britain being defined by a set of institutions and a way of life, and a particular set of values, so this isn't really a trend that's only going to concern white Britons, and more fundamentally, what we see in the data is the way in which the country is going to be transformed culturally,' he said. 'Much of the inward migration will come from outside of Europe from countries that I would argue are culturally different, if not incompatible, and over the next 30 to 50 years, we're going to see changes that are so profound that it's going to dwarf anything we've seen until this point.' Related Stories 12/18/2024 12/5/2023 Goodwin acknowledges that population data can be difficult to predict, but explained his methodology on his 'And what we find is that unless there is a radical change of policy, unless the country changes its current direction of travel, then the share of the population that is White British —defined as people who tick 'White: English, Welsh, Scottish, Northern Irish, or British' in the most recent census— will collapse over the next seventy-five years, from over 70 per cent today to below 34 per cent by the year 2100.' Daniel Leal/ AFP/Getty Images 'Tipping Point' The report forecasts that white Brits will be an overall minority within 38 years but Goodwin predicts the 'tipping point' for under-40s will come within just 25 years, meaning that a white British child born today will be in the minority in their peer group by the middle of the century. The report suggests that by the beginning of the next century, the white British could make up only around one third of the population, with more than six in 10 people either not having been born in the UK or having at least one immigrant parent. The Muslim population, currently at around 7 percent, is predicted to increase to more than one in 10 (11.2 percent) within the next 25 years and to account for almost one in five (19.2 percent) of all people in the UK by the turn of the century. Goodwin also modelled for a potential higher level of Muslim immigration, because of the volatile situation in the Middle East and parts of Africa, and said that under this scenario, one in four people living in the UK could be of the Islamic faith by the year 2200. Under this scenario, one in three young people could be Muslims by the end of this century. The report finds that the changing demographics are not based only on race or religion, but on country of origin, with fewer and fewer British-born people in the population following soaring levels of immigration under successive Labour and Conservative-led governments. Since the UK voted out of the European Union in 2016, the percentage coming to the country from outside of Europe has climbed, and now accounts for 81 percent of immigration. Goodwin wrote: 'The underlying ties to our nation —to its sense of history, culture, ways of life, identity, collective memory, and inheritance, in other words— will become much weaker in the years and decades ahead. 'While Britain's identity will increasingly be reshaped, by its ruling class, around the celebration of 'diversity', a rapidly dwindling number of people will actually be rooted in the distinctive identity, history, culture, and collective memory that is ultimately what make these islands distinctive to begin with.' 'Island of Strangers' Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said last month that the UK risked becoming an 'island of strangers' as Labour outlined a fresh strategy in a Following criticism from pro-immigration lobby groups and MPs, Starmer denied that his new, seemingly tougher approach, had come in response to Reform UK's recent strong showing at the polls, with Nigel Farage's party having consistently taken a clear stance against mass, uncontrolled immigration. While he paid tribute to the positive contribution made by many immigrants to the UK, Starmer took aim at the previous Conservative government for its immigration policies, saying, 'It was a choice, a choice made even as they told you, told the country, they were doing the opposite.' PA Media The four nations of the UK will be impacted at different rates, Goodwin predicted, with foreign-born people and their offspring set to become a majority in England in 2079, in Wales by 2081, in Scotland by 2093, and in Northern Ireland at some point after 2122. The pace of change is happening far more quickly in major cities, with the 2021 census revealing that London and Birmingham had already become minority white cities. Falling Fertility Rate Goodwin made his predictions by applying age and sex-specific fertility, mortality, and migration rates to a base population derived from the latest census data and calibrating these figures to the 2022-based ONS population projections. Since the fertility rate is Philip Kiszely, an academic from Leeds University who is opposed to critical race theory, commented on the study, saying on 'Identity discourse builds a pathological grudge culture which legitimises racial violence.' Referring to the phrase used historically by 'black power' movements, Kiszely added: ''Any means necessary?' We ain't seen nothing yet.' 'Great Replacement' a 'Fact' Editor of the Daily Sceptic and founder of the Free Speech Union, Lord Toby Young, also Goodwin said that he published the report not to be 'alarmist,' but rather so that people to pay attention to the profound effects of government policies over the past 30 years, and what this means for the future of the UK. He said in terms of trying to manage the change, the government must 'dramatically slash' both legal and illegal immigration, and 'invest much more seriously in social integration and cohesion.' Alongside this, he said that in order to try and unify the country, rather than championing diversity, the government must, 'Try and assert the the identity, history and cultural values of what is still the dominant, majority group.'

Whites to become minority in UK in 40 years
White Britons will become a minority in their own country in less than four decades, a recent study has suggested. The UK has seen a massive influx of legal and illegal migration under successive Conservative and Labour governments, with a record high of 906,000 new arrivals in 2023, according to The Telegraph. In 2022, the census revealed that London and Birmingham had become minority white cities. In an article on Tuesday, the newspaper cited an analysis by professor Matt Goodwin of Buckingham University, showing that the share of white Britons in the total population of the UK will slide from the current 73% to 57% by 2050. The study predicts they will slip into minority by 2063, and by the end of the century, the white population in the country may shrink to around 33%. The analysis goes on to project that six in ten people in the UK will be foreign-born or have at least one immigrant parent by the end of the century. The share of Muslims in the UK population is expected to rise from the current 7% to 19.2% within the same period. Goodwin told The Telegraph that his study factors in migration, as well as birth and death rates among various ethnic and religious groups, based on Office for National Statistics and census data. The author of the study told the newspaper that his findings raise 'enormous questions about the capacity of our country and leaders to unify people around a shared sense of identity, values, ways of life, and culture.' He also noted that the concerns that his study is liable to spark among many Britons 'will need to be recognised, respected and addressed if the UK is to avoid considerable political turbulence and polarisation in the years and decades ahead.'

WHITE British people will become a minority in the UK in less than 40 years, a population study warns. The current proportion of around 73 per cent will fall to 57 per cent by 2050, a migration report predicts, slipping below half by 2063. 2 By the end of the century, just 33.7 per cent of the UK population will have no immigrant parents, falling to 28 per cent for under-40s, according to Professor Matt Goodwin. His research, based on official current population data, also forecasts a sharp rise in people with immigrant backgrounds — from below 20 per cent today to 60.6 per cent by 2100. Prof Goodwin, a right-wing commentator, said: 'By the end of the century, most of the people on these islands will not be able to trace their roots in this country back more than one or two generations.' The share of UK-born people is also projected to collapse from 81 per cent today to 39 per cent. The Muslim population could rise from seven per cent to 19.2 per cent. Prof Goodwin said: 'This raises enormous questions about the capacity of our country and leaders to unify people around a shared sense of identity, values, ways of life, and culture, and avoid the very real risk of us becoming what Sir Keir Starmer referred to in May as 'an island of strangers'.' He argued these changes were likely to spark 'anxiety, concern and political opposition' among those who want to preserve the UK's 'symbols, traditions, culture and ways of life'. It comes amid pressure to reduce record levels of legal and illegal migration.
