File Photo by John Angelillo/UPI | License Photo June 18 (UPI) -- The food world is paying tribute to late chef and Food Network star Anne Burrell. Top Chef alum Carla Hall, former Chopped and MasterChef judge Aaron Sanchez, Food Network television personality Aarti Sequeira, and Cake Boss' Buddy Valastro were among those who took to Instagram to memorialize Burrell, who died Tuesday at age 55. "I absolutely loved working with Anne on Worst Cooks in America," Hall wrote. "She was a fierce chief and instructor -- rocking her custom skirts, mismatched socks and that unforgettable big smile," she continued. "Anne, you brought so much heart and heat to every kitchen. You will be missed." Sequeira also wrote about Burrell's mentorship in her tribute. "Anne was a tough but invested teacher, who thought enough of you to tell you the truth without watering it down. I always appreciated that she cared enough about a newbie to the game to give it to her straight. Ever since, she always greeted me with warmth, joy and that trademark big laugh. My heart would beat faster because I was a huge fan of her cooking show, the way she really thought of ways to teach cooking techniques," she said. Sanchez said he is "heartbroken" over Burrell's death. "Her spirit, her fire, her talent, her leadership, her laugh... unforgettable," he wrote. "So much respect and love for this amazing woman." Valastro wrote that Burrell's "passion, energy and love for food lit up every kitchen." "You were a true force and a beautiful soul," he added. "Rest in peace, Chef. We'll miss you dearly." "Devastated," Sunny Anderson captioned a photograph of herself with Burrell. Gigi Hadid, who briefly worked with Burrell said that she, too, is "heartbroken." "As a longtime fan, getting to share this day with her was a dream come true," she wrote in her Instagram stories with a photograph. "Beat Bobby. Hang. Eat. I wish we could have done it again. She was awesome. Rest in peace legend." MasterChef Australia star Declan Cleary leaves 'saucy' comment on Sarah Todd's Instagram page after confirming their age-gap romance
MasterChef Australia 's latest couple are not holding back online after confirming their relationship post-filming. Declan Cleary and Sarah Todd, who both appeared in the Back To Win series this year, have gone public with their romance and are now showing the love on Instagram. On Monday, 27-year-old Declan left a suggestive comment on Sarah's recent video, which showed her pairing mango, salt and chilli in 'a weird food combination' that she claims just 'works'. 'What's your weirdest food combo that actually works? I'm testing out weird food pairings and had to kick it off with one I secretly love…' Sarah, 38, captioned the post, which has garnered over 4,000 likes since being posted. '@HotToddyChilli Birdseye, mango and salt. Don't judge, it's already a fave in India! Swap it for green mango and it's game over,' she ended the post. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Fans of the foodie flooded the comments with praise for the unorthodox pairing, while also suggesting their own strange combinations. However, Declan raised the temperature in the comments section with his own 'saucy' pairing. 'Wow I bet some hot toddy would work well on papaya with lime and salt,' he cheekily wrote. The remark, though alluding to Sarah's chilli brand Hot Toddy, also came across as flirty, considering her surname is Todd. Sarah and Declan went public with their relationship on Sunday, revealing that they have already moved in together following the high-pressure show. Speaking to Stellar Magazine, Declan admitted that despite their big age gap, the pair 'instantly got along', which saw them spend lots of time together behind the scenes. However, it wasn't until Sarah landed in an elimination challenge that Declan's feelings became apparent, and he knew he needed to tell her how he felt. 'As she's walking into the elimination [challenge], I said, "Sarah, can I ask you something? Would you like to go on a date with me?" And she just looked at me and said, "You're a bloody idiot",' he said. Declan Cleary and Sarah Todd, who both appeared in the Back To Win series this year, have gone public with their romance, and are now showing the love on Instagram While the poorly-timed invitation didn't land the way he thought it would, Sarah eventually came around to the idea of them together. 'After I got through the stress of the elimination and had a couple of days to recover, I realised it made sense,' she said. For their first date, the pair visited Grampians National Park for a romantic weekend away, exploring markets, eating at picturesque restaurants and going for walks in the central Victoria highlands. Now, after wrapping filming on the show, Declan has made the move from Sydney's Northern Beaches to Melbourne - along with his dog Sol - to be with Sarah and her 14-year-old son Phoenix.

Otago Girls' brought together by library day
Shrek, Barbie and and The Cat in the Hat were some of the popular stories from which a Dunedin secondary school drew inspiration for its annual library day yesterday. Students from Otago Girls' High School dressed as characters from books and films to fundraise for new books for their library. Library prefect Caitlin Gibbs, 18, said this year's library day was a celebration of stories from books that had been reimagined as movies or TV shows. "In the past, we've had lots of fairy tales and nostalgia, so it was cool to bring in some of the new movies rather than just books on their own." Book presentations were followed by a video recording of interviews with guest speakers Sophie Black and Pepe de Hoyos. She said her favourite projects had been ones with a social cause at their heart. Mr de Hoyos also has a career in media, having worked on MasterChef and My Kitchen Rules. Otago Girls' head girl Jessie McGrouther, 17, said library day was a fun day that bought the school together. "We all have a good laugh at everyone's costumes."

MasterChef Australia contestant reveals why she's GLAD to have been kicked off show in latest elimination
Contestants are normally devastated to be kicked off MasterChef Australia. But during Sunday night's elimination on the Back To Win season, Samira El Khafir revealed she was happy to go home. The chef made eggplant chicken kofta but her dry meat let her down and led to her being sent home. After the news was broken that she was heading home, Samira found a silver lining. 'Thank you. No, this is good. It's my husband's birthday today' she quipped to laughter from her co-stars. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'This will honestly make his night, knowing I'm back to cook for him' she added. Samira went on to say that coming back to the show was a wonderful experience for her. 'Don't quit at anything. And you know, the world is massive. So there's just so much we can do. I loved every moment of it' she said of what she learned. 'I am feeling so happy and so blessed that I actually had this opportunity to come back' she added. 'I appreciate everything. I am super proud of myself. To be a mum of four and to pause work life to come join MasterChef again for the second time. 'It was so beautiful. I'm super proud of how far I've come.' Last week, fan favourite Darrsh Clarke made his heartbreaking farewell after his dessert failed to impress the judges. Darrsh, who won a reputation on the show as the 'dessert king' served up a sweet Choux Tower, which features a Orange Blossom Crème Pâtissière and a Pistachio Praline. Unfortunately for Darrsh he went wrong with using too many eggs, and he ended up burning the Choux pastry. 'Meeting all of these amazing people, it's been very inspiring to be around, and I think just having that energy to be around you really motivates you and I'm really excited for what's next,' he said before making his sad exit from the kitchen. First appearing on the cooking competition in 2024, when he placed sixth, the self-taught foodie appeared determined to follow his dream. 'I'm definitely going to use this experience to change my life going forward,' he continued. The Sunday prior saw Tim Bone sent home when his underdone duck failed to wow the judges in the butter challenge. A pressure test called for the chefs to create a dish that 'celebrated butter' in 75 minutes. 'My heart definitely sank,' the Ballarat chef told Ten after he departed the cooking competition. 'I think I bit off more than I could chew trying to get a beautiful fall-off-the-bone confit duck in 75 minutes, but that's the world we live in, it's a pressure-cooker of an environment, and you never know when your time is up' he continued.
