Tottenham in ‘regular dialogue' with Manor Solomon as winger left stranded in Israel
Tottenham remain in regular contact with their winger Manor Solomon over his welfare after the winger was left stranded in Israel as the military conflict with Iran continues. The 25-year-old Israel international got married to his long-term partner, Dana Voshina, last week but they have not been able to leave after Israeli airspace was closed to civilian flights. Solomon, having recovered from a serious knee injury, spent last season on loan at Leeds, helping the club win the Championship. A Tottenham spokesperson said: 'We are constantly in regular dialogue with all our players regarding their wellbeing and welfare.' Solomon, who had a loan at Fulham before he joined Spurs from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer of 2023, is due to return to the north London club for the start of pre-season training in early July. Tottenham admit 'error of judgement' after blocking accounts replying to post about Israeli player Manor Solomon's wedding - with player and wife left stranded amid Iran conflict
Tottenham have apologised for an 'error of judgement' after blocking some accounts that had replied to a post about Israeli player Manor Solomon's wedding on X. Spurs shared a series of 'life updates' and photographs from various players, but some replies hurled abuse towards Solomon while others referenced the Israel-Hamas conflict. Solomon married Dana Voshina in his homeland on Thursday but is now stranded there as Israel has closed its civilian airspace due to the threat of aerial attacks from Iran. Social media staff working for Tottenham manually blocked certain accounts which had replied, but have since unblocked them. The club said in a statement to The Times: 'We have been made aware of a number of X accounts that have been blocked manually by the club's social media team following posts aimed at one of our players related to the current conflict in the Middle East. 'Following an internal review, we recognise some of these posts do not meet the threshold of malicious communication defined in our policy and we acknowledge an error of judgment has been made in these instances. We have unblocked these accounts and are reviewing our internal procedures. 'The club should like to wholeheartedly apologise to those impacted. We continue to stand for peace and acceptance for all, while standing firmly against all forms of abuse and discrimination.' Solomon, 25, was on loan at Leeds United last season and scored 10 goals as Daniel Farke's side won the Championship title. Tottenham shared a photo of him as part of a selection including multiple players. In the past few days, alongside Solomon, they have had 'big life updates,' as Spurs wrote. James Maddison and his girlfriend Kennedy Alexa are expecting another pair of twins, Richarlison and his partner Amanda Araujo have had a baby, and Dejan Kulusevski has got married to fellow Swedish footballer Eldina Ahmic. According to the Times, Tottenham have an automated process for blocking accounts that direct abuse at their players. However, these particular posts did not reach the level of 'mailcious communications' required in the club's opinion, but all the same the originators were blocked. Their statement continued: 'Tottenham Hotspur is proud of the rich diversity that exists within all our communities and amongst our global fanbase. Abuse and discrimination of any kind has no place at our club, within our game or within wider society. 'In line with our published sanctions and banning policy, the club reserves the right to take action against individuals using discriminatory and/or threatening or abusive language towards players, whether in the stadium or online. 'This may extend to reporting, removing or hiding comments and, in some instances, blocking offending accounts — on all social media platforms other than X, this is an automated process carried out via an online tool deployed by the club.' Solomon is due back for pre-season training with Tottenham in early July but is unable to fly out due to the airspace closing down. 'We are constantly in regular dialogue with all our players regarding their wellbeing and welfare,' a spokesperson told the BBC. He and Dana, who have been together for seven years, married at the Kahi Events Resort in Israel, where they threw an extravagant party.

Son Heung-min set to stay at Tottenham until after pre-season clash in South Korea due to little-known contract clause
TOTTENHAM are highly unlikely to sell Son Heung-min before their pre-season tour to South Korea. Captain Son, 32, is a target for Saudi Pro League clubs and is coveted by his old boss Jose Mourinho at Fenerbahce in Turkey. 3 3 SunSport understands the forward would be open to leaving Spurs this summer. He sees the merits of ending a decade at the club on a high following last month's Europa League triumph. Spurs would not let him go on the cheap, though, especially given the vast commercial benefits he brings to the club through his iconic status in his home country. It is why it would be a major shock if the North Londoners sold him ahead of their trip to Seoul at the start of August. Tottenham play a friendly against Newcastle at The Seoul World Cup Stadium on August 3. The North Londoners are commercially contracted to play Son in the game and would be impacted financially if they did not, even if he was injured. It is similar to commercial agreements with most top players at the big clubs for pre-season tours to avoid second-string sides being fielded and disappointing supporters. The deal does not mean Son could not be sold before the tour if Spurs receive a massive offer they feel they could not turn down - but it considerably diminishes the chances of that happening. Solomon, 25, married long-term partner Dana Voshina in his homeland last Thursday but the couple have not been able to leave the country since. That is because the Israeli military closed airspace to civilian traffic following aerial attacks from Iran last week. A Spurs spokesperson said: 'We are constantly in regular dialogue with all our players regarding their wellbeing and welfare.' Spurs' players are not due back for pre-season training until early July. Solomon won the Championship on loan at Leeds last season. But as SunSport exclusively revealed earlier this month, Spurs are ready to give him a second chance to make it with his parent club this term.

Tottenham in regular contact with stranded Israeli Solomon amid conflict
Tottenham Hotspur are in close contact with winger Manor Solomon to ensure his well-being, as the player remains in Israel amidst the ongoing military conflict with Iran. The 25-year-old Israeli international recently married his long-term partner, Dana Voshina, but the newlyweds have been unable to leave the country following the closure of Israeli airspace to civilian flights. The club is providing support and monitoring the situation closely. Advertisement The Foreign Office has advised against all travel to Israel, but Britons already in the country now face difficulties getting home, with the airspace closed due to the conflict with Iran. The UK has no plans to evacuate Britons stranded but support has been stepped up in Jordan and Egypt for people who make their own way overland. Foreign Secretary David Lammy told MPs travel advice was being updated with information about border crossing points. He said: 'The situation remains fast-moving. We expect more strikes in the days to come. 'This is a moment of grave danger for the region.' Poland has announced an evacuation of around 200 of its citizens in a bus convoy to Jordan, while the Czech Republic and Slovakian governments have organised repatriation flights from the region. Advertisement Having recovered from a serious knee injury, Solomon spent last season on loan at Leeds, helping the club win the Sky Bet Championship title and secure promotion back to the Premier League. A Tottenham spokesperson confirmed to the PA news agency: 'We are constantly in regular dialogue with all our players regarding their wellbeing and welfare.' Solomon, who had a loan spell at Fulham before he joined Spurs from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer of 2023, is set to return to the north London club for the start of pre-season training in early July. New boss Thomas Frank will be looking to shape his squad ahead of the new campaign, having taken over following the departure of Ange Postecoglou. Tottenham winger Manor Solomon spent last season on loan at Leeds (Andrew Milligan/PA) (PA Archive) Spurs have already completed the permanent signing of Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich on a six-year deal following a successful loan spell. Despite finishing 17th in the Premier League, their lowest-ever finish, Spurs have qualified for the Champions League courtesy of their 1-0 win over Manchester United in the Europa League final, which proved to be the last match in charge for Postecoglou.

Tottenham admit error in blocking fans over replies to Manor Solomon post
Tottenham Hotspur have admitted to 'an error of judgment' in blocking some social media accounts that had responded to the club posting a wedding photo of their Israeli player, Manor Solomon. Some of the replies on X, formerly known as Twitter, referenced the war in Gaza and Solomon's previous backing for Israel, while other posts crossed the line into abuse. The club confirmed to The Times that a number of accounts, including some belonging to Spurs fans, that were blocked by the club's social media team have now been unblocked. They have also apologised to those who were wrongly blocked. Tottenham said in a statement: 'We have been made aware of a number of X accounts that have been blocked manually by the club's social media team following posts aimed at one of our players related to the current conflict in the Middle East. We continue to stand for peace and acceptance for all, while standing firmly against all forms of abuse and discrimination.' The photo of Solomon, 25, was part of a montage of pictures of Spurs players titled 'Big life updates from our guys', which led to a stream of replies, many of which made reference to the conflict in Gaza. Spurs have an automated process for blocking social media accounts that use abusive or threatening language towards their players, but in these cases the accounts were blocked manually. The club statement added: 'Tottenham Hotspur is proud of the rich diversity that exists within all our communities and amongst our global fanbase.
