Art Attack star looks completely unrecognisable after huge career change
Art Attack's Neil Buchanan became a household name when he began hosting the popular children's TV show in 1990, but he looks very different nowadays - 18 years since the show was axed Neil Buchanan, famed for his stint on CITV's Art Attack, is hardly recognisable in recent photos. The artist became a household name 17 years ago when he started presenting Art Attack, a children's TV programme that aired from 1990 to 2007. The much-loved show taught kids how to create art pieces and provided tips for home creativity. Art Attack enjoyed a remarkable run of 19 series, including six Christmas specials and various other shorts and specials. ITV sadly declared its cancellation in July 2007, but reruns continued until 30 May 2011. Now aged 68, Neil went on to present shows like Finders Keepers, Animal Crazy, and It's a Mystery. However, he soon left the television world to concentrate on his music career. Neil, originally from Aintree, Liverpool, was part of a heavy metal band named Marseille, which was established in 1976. The band released four albums and six singles during their time together, even touring America and performing alongside Judas Priest, Nazareth and Whitesnake. Marseille made a comeback in 2009 with a performance at The Cavern Club in Liverpool. However, lead singer Nigel Roberts announced in 2017 that Neil had left the band due to his consultancy work for children's television. Neil remains active in the art world and has his own website showcasing his art collections and photography. Fans can snap up fine art prints from the erstwhile TV sensation online. The former star's artwork has been a hot topic for ages, and in 2020, he had to put an end to whispers claiming that he was the mysterious street artist Banksy. His website made it clear with a statement: "Neil Buchanan ISN'T Banksy. We have been inundated with enquiries over the weekend regarding the current social media story. Unfortunately this website does not have the infrastructure to answer all these enquiries individually, however we can confirm that there is no truth in the rumour whatsoever." The message went on to say: "Neil spent Lockdown with vulnerable members of his family and is now preparing to launch his new art collection in 2021. Thank you and please stay safe." Rumours about Art Attack's grand return to our screens in 2025 have been doing the rounds, though nothing official has been confirmed. The rumour mill even churned out tales of comedian Romesh Ranganathan taking the helm, which he firmly shot down during a chat on The One Show in September. He clarified: "Thank you for asking me that, I'm not. I'm not bringing back Art Attack, what I have done though is been subjected to terrible levels of online abuse," affirming further, "I just want to say to the camera, I am not doing Art Attack. I'm not replacing Neil Buchanan, I respect what he did. I would never step on his legacy in that way! Please stop at'ing me, alright."

Serial killer Fred West describes chopping up his daughter's body in new tape
The weather may be hotting up outside, but there's every reason to stay in for a night on the sofa with thrilling new dramas, hard-hitting documentaries and shiny talent shows on our screens. With so much to choose from, I have handpicked the best of the box from big broadcasters like BBC and ITV, as well as streaming services - from Netflix to Prime Video. Tonight, more horrific detail about the crimes committed by Fred and Rose West is revealed in a new Netflix show, Location, Location, Location celebrates 25 years and we're blessed with yet another home renovation show. See below for my top telly picks. Smirking and laughing, sadistic serial killer Fred West is being interviewed about his missing teenage daughter as police dig up his patio. As we see footage of the paving slabs being levered up from the garden of 25 Cromwell Street in February 1994, we can hear the creepy tape as West talks to detectives. This documentary is gripping from the off as three episodes rake over the lives and crimes of Britain's most notorious and prolific husband and wife serial killers. Recently-discovered police recordings fill in a few gaps as the series shows how Gloucestershire police was able to unearth the remains of the West couple's 12 victims to build a case against them. Relatives of some of the victims speak about their pain and torment, while we also hear from people who were involved with the case and remain haunted. It begins with insight into how it began - when the West children said that if they misbehaved they would end up under the patio like their sister Heather, who had been missing for years. In a chilling interview, Fred West admits killing her and describes using a bread knife to cut up her body. Howard Ogden, Fred West's solicitor, says: 'A man is describing murdering and dismembering his daughter. It wasn't with floods of tears of distress and stress and anxiety, it was a set of facts. He adds: 'We found Heather. It was meant to be the end of the story, but it turned out, tragically, that it was only the beginning.' For a quarter of a century, real estate couple Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer have been peddling their mantra - location, location, location. They have helped almost 750 people, viewed over 1,800 homes and been entrusted with over £175 million of the great British public's money. Now it's their silver anniversary, so Kirstie and Phil have regrouped to reflect on the joy and frustration they have encountered over the years. They've been there through the boom and the bust, they've dealt with runaway markets, and were around when Lockdown meant there was no market whatsoever. This nostalgic doc whizzes through the key moments in the show's history, with updates on some of their house hunters and also reflecting on their own relationship. Kirstie says: 'When Phil and I started, we knew a bit about property and nothing about TV. We've learned a great deal more about property and a bit about TV.' Fortunate isn't it that we are a nation obsessed with house renovations, since the TV schedules are rammed with endless restoration shows. In this latest offering, architect Hugh Wallace follows adventurous homeowners as they battle to restore derelict or unloved historical properties to their former glory. Expect collapsing walls, unexpected plumbing problems and people running around frantically in hard hats as they try to achieve their dreams brick by tortuous brick, all while spewing money literally up the walls. This series is set in Ireland as people try to create their visions in the ruined walls of Ireland's past. 'What possessed you to buy this?' asks Hugh as he meets Mary-Claire and Sully as they transform a four-bedroom Georgian house into a modern home, while also trying to pay homage to the building's rich past. Hugh then observes over 16 months as the couple battle to turn a demolition site into a serene home. Mackenzie is jealous of John and Aaron's relationship. He begins to plot, while Matty watches on amused. Moira is haunted by memories of the past. She finally shows Ross the mysterious letter - the news that he has a half-brother he's never met throws him off balance. At first Ross buries his head in the sand, but Matty suggests that meeting him could change his life for the better. Bear is panicked to see Mandy and Paddy have boxed up his possessions. Ian and Kathy excitedly prepare for the baby's welcome home party, but disaster strikes when Cindy arrives. Peter shuns Cindy, and feeling cast out once again, Cindy decides to play the video of Kathy and Harvey kissing at his and Jean's engagement announcement. Suki tries to talk to Avani about sleeping with Joel, but Avani is in no mood to talk and storms out. Later Suki finds a quiet moment to reveal everything to Priya, but Ravi comes home and overhears everything. When Mick sends Liam for bacon sarnies, he fails to come back. Gary and Maria find him skulking in the café, where Liam opens up about how Mick locked him in the tool shed. Maria is horrified. In the bistro, Abi and Debbie order soft drinks with lunch, but when Ronnie enters, Debbie changes it to a large vodka. Betsy rounds on Lauren over her treatment of Bobby. A row ensues and Lauren accidentally squirts ketchup all over poor Roy.
