His dedication to studies was driven by his ambition to follow in his father's footsteps. He aspires to serve society as a cardiologist. In the interview with Local 18, Sahu shared his success strategy, emphasising the importance of studying for 12 to 15 hours daily. He advised that with two years of hard work, success in the exams is achievable. Regarding social media, he suggested that students could indulge in it for an hour a day if they can control themselves, but if it proves to be a distraction, it is best to avoid it. For students preparing for next year's NEET or JEE Advanced exams, Sahu recommended balancing school and coaching. He advised completing coaching assignments on the same day, finishing the syllabus as soon as possible, and revising it three to four times. The remarkable story of courage, persistence, and medical determination has unfolded at the Sadar Hospital in Begusarai, Bihar. According to officials at the Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) of Begusarai Sadar Hospital, the infants were brought in by their desperate father after being turned away elsewhere. The twins, one weighing just 700 grams and the other around 800 grams, were born prematurely to a woman identified as Komal (name changed) in Patna. The premature delivery, which occurred before the completion of the sixth month of pregnancy, left the infants fighting for life with virtually no chance of survival. Doctors at several hospitals in the state capital reportedly told the family that there was no possibility of saving the babies. Refusing to give up, the family recalled hearing of a neonatologist named Dr Krishna Kumar in Begusarai, known locally for his work in newborn care. In a last-ditch effort, they travelled over 120 kilometres to reach him. The infants were admitted to the SNCU under the care of Dr Kumar, who began immediate intensive care treatment. Against all odds, both newborns responded to the medical support. The doctor confirmed that while the children arrived in extremely critical condition, they are now out of immediate danger and have started responding to breast milk feeding. The next few weeks remain crucial, but signs are positive. 'Saving babies born at just 24 weeks is an immense challenge anywhere in the world," Dr Kumar told Local 18. The babies came with extremely low birth weights and underdeveloped organs, but with the right care and continuous monitoring, there is hope, he said. The case has brought unexpected attention to Begusarai's Sadar Hospital, often overlooked in Bihar's overburdened health system. Officials say this success reflects both a family's relentless faith and the quiet improvements in neonatal care being made in district hospitals. Sushil Kumar, the infants' father, attributes their survival to divine will and human perseverance. 'We were shattered when every hospital told us there was no hope. But something kept us going. Dr Krishna Kumar and his team gave our children a second chance at life," he said with tears in his eyes. The twins will remain in the SNCU under observation for another few weeks. If all continues to progress well, doctors say they could be declared fully healthy by the end of three months, a remarkable feat for babies born so early. In some regions, Selvat is known as the Lasoda tree. It is of medium height with many branches that bear fruit. A strong gum-like substance oozes from the fruit, known for its adhesive properties. The fruit has a smooth surface and is rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. Selvat belongs to the Cordia family, and while it thrives in dry, deciduous forests, its presence is becoming increasingly rare. Traditionally, its gum has also been used to seal clay pots or act as a natural glue in rural households. Found in Rural Balaghat The Selvat tree is mostly found in the rural regions of Balaghat. However, the number of these trees is rapidly declining, making them a rare sight today. A team from Local18 visited Sukatra village in Malajkhand, where a local resident, Suresh Bisen, shared insights about the tree. He noted that Selvat trees, once found in abundance, are now dwindling and need urgent conservation efforts. One Fruit, Three Uses This fruit stands out because of its versatility. When raw, it is cooked as a vegetable. When it starts to ripen, it is ideal for making pickles. When it fully ripens, it can be eaten directly as a fruit. This multi-use quality makes it especially valuable to locals. Selvat also holds medicinal benefits. It is known to provide relief from cough, bronchitis, and asthma. A decoction made from its leaves and bark is commonly used to ease joint pain and treat arthritis. Healers in tribal areas use various parts of the plant to treat minor wounds, digestive issues, and even skin ailments. As interest in traditional knowledge and forest produce grows, Selvat could find a new audience beyond Balaghat—if only its trees are protected and propagated.

Shivrajyabhishek 2025: What Happened To Shivaji Maharaj's 32-Maund Golden Throne?

Considered a cornerstone of Indian self-rule, this grand event continues to inspire generations. On this occasion, renowned Kolhapur-based historian Indrajit Sawant spoke to Local18 about the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's coronation and the mysteries surrounding the legendary 32-maund (approximately 144kg) golden throne. The formidable and strategically located Raigad Fort in Maharashtra was incorporated into Swarajya by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in May 1656. Selected as the new capital due to its geographical advantages, Raigad witnessed the construction of numerous key structures, including eighteen establishments. Among these were a gem workshop, an armoury, a granary, and more. Shivaji Maharaj appointed Ramaji Datto Chitre to head the Ratnashala (gem workshop), where the resplendent golden throne for his coronation was meticulously crafted. Work on the golden throne commenced in 1673, a year ahead of the coronation, using an array of precious gems from the Ratnashala. Gold, diamonds, rubies, emeralds, and other stones were intricately embedded to enhance its grandeur. A letter by Abraham Le Faber to the Dutch governor refers to the throne as 'Shivraj', underlining its magnificence. On June 6, 1674, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was ceremonially crowned at Raigad, seated upon this majestic 32-maund golden throne, a powerful symbol of Maratha sovereignty and a new era of Swarajya. Although some historians estimate the throne's weight at 1,280 kg (assuming 1 maund equals 40 kg), the 144 kg figure is more widely accepted. Disappearance Of The Golden Throne Following Shivaji Maharaj's death, the mantle of Swarajya passed to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. However, during the subsequent Peshwa rule and after the British capture of Raigad in 1818, references to the golden throne largely disappear. This lack of documentation has sparked speculation. Historian Indrajit Sawant suggests that the golden throne may have been hidden or dismantled, with its gold and jewels redistributed, though no definitive evidence has ever been found. Shivarajyabhishek: A Legacy Of 'Swarajya' The coronation of Shivaji Maharaj was not merely ceremonial, it marked a bold declaration of self-rule, dignity, and identity. It laid the foundation for the Maratha Empire and inspired generations to resist foreign dominance. Swarajya, as envisioned by Shivaji, was committed to protecting the rights of the common people and building a robust administrative, economic, and military structure. The golden throne came to embody the glory, independence, and aspirations of this vision.
