Man Takes Labrador Puppy Out for Socialization—But There's Just One Problem

Socializing a puppy during the dog's first few months helps set them up for success. It exposes them to different sights, sounds, smells, people and other animals. Those with inadequate socialization early in life often develop behavioral problems, Newsweek previously reported. Owners often bring their puppies with them to restaurants and stores for socializing, which is what TikTok user @jimmy_thelab did with his black Labrador puppy named Jimmy. He placed Jimmy in the shopping cart as he strolled down the aisles of the hardware store. The hope was that Jimmy took in the views, sights and sounds from around the store, but instead, Jimmy only looked at his owner. The pup didn't care about anyone else around. He kept his focus right on the owner, staring up at him with the big, bright puppy-dog eyes. Impossible to ignore that precious face, the owner stopped pushing the cart and reached his hand out to pet Jimmy's face. The pup happily accepted the love, as it was the only thing he wanted since being brought into the store. "He's honestly so chill," the owner told Newsweek via TikTok. "He has a look around at the start, but most of the time he just wants to be close to us. It's so sweet it melts me." This owner's method of socialization has taken Jimmy to other locations, including several trips to the pet store, a photo studio for a photo shoot and visits with Grandma. "You're his safe place. That's why he's looking at you," commented a viewer, while another echoed: "He's looking at his world." Commenting on what the pup was thinking, someone wrote: "Yeah, this place is cool and all, but you're way cooler." A fourth person asked: "How did you get any shopping done? I would've been crashing into things left and right. My focus would be on the goodest boy." But the owner did confirm he was crashing into everything. 8 held for Semaglutide theft from Dr Reddy's lab; 2 cr drug seized
Srikakulam: The JR Puram police in Srikakulam district have arrested a gang of eight individuals, including four employees of Dr Reddy's Laboratories, in connection with the theft of about 460 grams of Semaglutide (GLP-1), a patented anti-diabetic drug worth over ₹2 crore. The drug was stolen from the company's warehouse at Pydibheemavaram for sale in the black market. Those arrested include Dr Reddy's chemists Dronadulu Suresh (31), N Appala Naidu (28), and Gollapalli Kantarao (35); warehouse staffer G V Raghavendra (33); and four others with pharma backgrounds in Hyderabad: G Suresh Reddy (40), A Tirupati (32), K Balakrishna (33), and B Naveen Kumar (33). The police said Semaglutide is an anti-diabetic medication used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and an anti-obesity medication used for long-term weight management. It is a peptide similar to the hormone glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), modified with a side can be administered by subcutaneous injection or taken orally. Basically it was the patent product of Dr Reddy's Laboratories and the product was meant for export to foreign countries. The drug can be sold by only patent persons. However, the drug has high value in the black market. Based on the complaint, the police formed three teams to solve the offences. The JR Puram police inspector M Avatharam along with his team sub-inspector S Chiranjeevi and G Laxman Rao investigated the case in multiple angles to identify the culprits. The investigation revealed that Raghavendra stole the drug from the warehouse. Later, he gave it to Appal Naidu, Suresh and Kantarao for sale of the drug in the black market. The trio gave the stolen drug to Tirupati and later it was handed over to Suresh Reddy in Hyderabad for sale. Suresh Reddy had previously worked with a pharma company and he has links with some persons involved in selling of drugs in the black market. However, he also failed to trade the stolen chemical that led to disputes among the gang. When Raghavendra asked Suresh Reddy to return the drug, he cheated them by giving fake Semaglutide powder. The police nabbed all the eight persons in connection with the case and recovered around 440 gram of stolen Semaglutide powder and 460 gms of fake Semaglutide powder from them. Police said during the audit, staff observed that 3.38 kg of Palladium Acetate, valued at over 60 lakh and stored at the warehouse within the production unit of Dr Reddy's Lab, had been stolen in May this year. Palladium acetate, or palladium(II) acetate, is a chemical is a red-brown solid and is widely used as a catalyst in various organic reactions, particularly cross coupling reactions like Suzuki and Heck reactions. The police said the same gang was involved in the case and the investigation is on to recover the stolen chemical from them.

RFC – Jordan extends submission deadline for 20th Rawi Screenwriters Lab
Rawi works with a diverse group of Creative Advisors and selection committee members from the Arab region and beyond. The Royal Film Commission – Jordan (RFC) has extended the submission deadline for the 20th edition of its Rawi Screenwriters Lab. Arab screenwriters now have until midnight on Saturday, June 14, 2025 (Jordan Time) to submit their entries for this milestone edition of the Lab, which will be held from November 20 to 26, 2025, in Wadi Feynan, Jordan. Launched in 2005 in collaboration with the Sundance Institute, the Rawi Screenwriters Lab has evolved into one of the Arab world's most respected script development programmes. The name 'Rawi,' meaning both 'storyteller' and 'water bearer' in Arabic, encapsulates the Lab's mission to cultivate and nourish Arab voices in cinema. Over the past two decades, the Lab has supported more than 150 emerging screenwriters, many of whom have become influential voices in contemporary Arab film. Held annually in a retreat-style setting, the Lab provides eight selected Fellows with an immersive creative environment. Each participant is paired with four acclaimed Creative Advisors—renowned Arab or international screenwriters and editors—for intensive one-on-one sessions. The experience also includes informal discussions and group exchanges, fostering a strong sense of community and artistic collaboration. The programme is open to Arab screenwriters working on their first or second feature-length narrative screenplay. Eligible applicants may apply as independent screenwriters, writer-directors, or co-writers. Submissions must include a completed screenplay (minimum 60 pages), a logline, a synopsis, a filmmaker's statement, a biography, and links to previous work. While screenplays may initially be submitted in Arabic, selected projects must later provide an English translation. All other application materials must be submitted in English to ensure equal evaluation by an international committee. Applications must be submitted through the official online form. Results will be announced by August 1, 2025.
