Kavitha pitches for pujas by Banjara priests in Hathiram mutt
Hyderabad: BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Thursday requested the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman, B R Naidu, to provide an opportunity for Banjara Peethadhipas (spiritual leaders) from the Telugu states to perform poojas at the Tirupati Hathiram Bawaji Mutt in Tirumala. MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha, accompanied by various Banjara Peethadhipas from Telangana, made a courtesy call to the TTD Chairman B R Naidu in Hyderabad on Thursday. The Telangana Jagruthi President specifically requested the TTD Chairman to allow Banjara (Sugali, Lambadi) Peethadhipas and priests to perform pujas at the Mutt on the occasion of Hathiram Bawaji Jayanti on June 30, and to make arrangements for offering Naivedyam (food offerings). TTD Chairman B R Naidu has assured that a special meeting would be convened soon with the administrators of Hathiram Bawaji Peetham and tribal Peethadhipas. A decision, he said, would be taken in this meeting to discuss and facilitate the performance of pujas and offering of Aarti at the Haritam Bawaji Mutt premises. The TTD Chairman further assured that special pujas and offerings would be conducted on the occasion of Hathiram Bawaji's birth anniversary on June 30.

Now, Kavitha rivets eyes on irri projects to take on Revanth govt
Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi President Kalvakuntla Kavitha has now focused on the irrigation front to target the Revanth Reddy led government in the state, raising issues concerning projects like Bollapalli in Nallamala and the oustees of the Polavaram submergence area, among others. According to Jagruthi leaders, Kavitha has been keenly studying the irrigation sector with the aim of cornering the current administration. Along with opposing the Banakacherla project, Kavitha has been vocal against the proposed Bollapalli project in the Nallamala Forest area. During a recent press conference, Kavitha stated that the forest area faces submergence due to the Bollapalli project, proposed by the Andhra Pradesh government. She also challenged the narrative that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was never opposed to Telangana projects, recalling his past letters and petitions filed in the Supreme Court against them. She criticised the Chief Minister's 'paper tiger' stance, asserting that although he calls himself the 'Nallamala Tiger', he has failed to act against projects like the proposed 150 TMC Bollapalli reservoir, which threatens to submerge the Nallamala forest. Kavitha is organising a roundtable meeting on Friday to discuss submergence in Telangana due to the Polavaram project. Jagruthi General Secretary Naveen Achari confirmed that leaders of various parties, public organisations, and flood victims would participate and speak at the roundtable meeting, scheduled from 10 am to 2 pm on Friday.

42 PC BC Quota: Jagruthi threatens to file mass nominations in local body polls
Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi President and BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Wednesday said that if the state government fails to implement 42 per cent reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) in the upcoming local body elections, her organisation would stall the election process by filing hundreds of nominations in every village across the state as a form of protest. Addressing a press conference here at her residence on Wednesday, Kavitha criticized Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for failing to raise the BC reservation bill issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, despite having visited Delhi numerous times. She sarcastically remarked that Revanth could earn a Guinness World Record for the most visits to Delhi without achieving any results. MLC Kavitha alleged that the Chief Minister was not genuinely committed to securing approval for the BC Bill. Kavitha ridiculed the BJP's plan to organize a 'Telangana Vikasit Yatra' in support of the BC Bill. She stated that unless the BJP clearly supports the BC Bill, people will not trust their political moves, regardless of how many rallies they organize. Highlighting the intensifying agitation, Kavitha announced a massive 'Rail Roko' protest on July 17 demanding BC reservations. She urged citizens to reschedule any travel plans between July 16 and 18. She noted that various caste-based organizations, including SC and ST groups, were extending support to the Telangana Jagruthi movement. She slammed the CM's 'paper tiger' stance, stating that though he calls himself the 'Nallamala Tiger,' he has failed to act against projects like the proposed 150 TMC Bollapalli reservoir, which threatens to submerge the Nallamala forest. Telangana Jagruthi, she said, would approach the courts over the issue. MLC Kavitha challenged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy: 'If you are truly the son of Nallamala, stop the Bollapalli reservoir.' She also demanded that the Chief Minister to demand the central government to convene an Apex Council meeting immediately and push the Centre to act on Telangana's water concerns. MLC Kavitha called for an end to 'Operation Kagaar', urging both the central and state governments to initiate dialogue with Maoists. She expressed condolences on the death of Telangana Maoist leader Gajjala Ravi in an encounter and extended sympathies to his family.

Kavitha calls for rail roko on July 17 in support of 42 pc BC quota
Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi President Kalvakuntla Kavitha has announced a state-wide Rail Roko protest on July 17, demanding the Central government to approve the bills passed by Telangana Assembly for providing 42 per cent reservations to Backward Classes (BCs) in local bodies, education and employment. Addressing a BC Round Table meeting organised jointly by Telangana Jagruthi and United Phule Front in Medak, on Tuesday, Kavitha emphasised the need to exert pressure on the Central government to approve the bills. 'This Rail Roko will not just be a protest, but a declaration of Telangana BCs' strength to the rulers in Delhi. We will take All BC organizations and leaders together in this protest', MLC Kavitha stated, warning that the protest would send a strong message to the BJP government at centre. The BRS MLC criticized the Congress-led state government, alleging it was conspiring to conduct local body elections without implementing the proposed 42 per cent reservations for BCs. 'We will not allow elections without these reservations. The Congress government has merely sent the bills to the Centre and washed its hands off the responsibility,' she said, questioning why the state government is not intensifying its efforts to ensure the President's approval.

Kavitha launches ‘Leader' initiative for training future politicos
Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi President and BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha announced that Telangana Jagruthi would evolve into a dedicated political training platform for youth, women, and students. The initiative, named 'Leader', aims to empower individuals without a prior political background. Unveiling a poster for 'Leader' at her residence on Sunday, MLC Kavitha emphasised the critical importance of youth participation for fostering cleaner politics. Speaking at the event, Ms Kavitha stated that Telangana is renowned for its questioning spirit and stressed the need to cultivate this trait in future generations. She announced that Telangana Jagruthi would conduct three day political training sessions every month across the state. The inaugural session is scheduled to commence in July in Hyderabad, with subsequent monthly sessions to be held in various districts starting from August. Encouraging students, youth, and women to participate in the training programme, MLC Kavitha outlined that the sessions would cover key topics. These include the roles and responsibilities of elected representatives, from Sarpanches to Members of Parliament, as well as strategies for identifying and resolving public issues and mobilising development funds. MLC Kavitha further reiterated that Telangana Jagruthi would continue its fight for achieving 42 per cent reservations for Backward Classes (BCs) in local body elections. She also highlighted the significance of preparing women leaders for the upcoming parliamentary and assembly elections, particularly in light of the Women's Reservation Act, which provides 33 per cent reservations for women. With delimitation expected to increase the number of assembly seats in Telangana to 153, and Lok Sabha seats as well, Ms Kavitha underscored the necessity for strong, well informed leaders.
