Image via: Ron Hoskins/NBAE/Getty Images In a must-win Game 6 clash between the Indiana Pacers and the Oklahoma City Thunder, Tyrese Haliburton's father, John Haliburton, became an unexpected scene-stealer at Gainbridge Fieldhouse— not for his courtside antics this time, but for a bold outfit that had fans doing double-takes. As the Pacers fought to stay alive in the NBA Finals, John's fashion choice lit up social media and stirred conversation across fan bases. John Haliburton wears an NBA-wide statement for Oklahoma City Thunder vs Indiana Pacers John Haliburton arrived at Indiana's final home game of the 2025 postseason in what can only be described as a fashion wildcard. Wearing a Pacers jersey on top, John paired it with white pants decked out with logos from multiple NBA teams. But what truly puzzled fans was the visible placement of the Oklahoma City Thunder logo on the back of his left leg. The opposing team's emblem on a Pacers supporter, especially the father of a franchise star, was bound to raise eyebrows. Most would expect a more traditional display of loyalty in such a high-stakes setting, but John has never followed convention. His outfit was a reminder that he plays by his own rules. It appears that John was there to make a statement, wearing a Pacers T-shirt, which seemingly symbolizes that the team will remain undefeated. The rest could refer to the fallen teams in the play-in and playoffs, and possibly the Thunder in the finals. Fans shared their reactions to John Haliburton's unexpected outfit Fans online rushed into the comments to share their thoughts on the hilarious moment. Here's how they reacted to the classic John Haliburton moment. 'Next level fashion,' one user wrote. Another fan commented, 'Drip or drown, no in-between.' 'My fit in middle school,' one fan joked. 'John Haliburton is definitely a character!' one fan candidly acknowledged his style. 'Brothas of a certain age, am i bugging, or do all the versions of these pants have the logos organized in a similar order. I always remember that bulls on the left thigh, hawks on right hip, and that '6ers at the right ankle,' another shared. This isn't the first time John has made headlines this postseason. Earlier in the playoffs, he was temporarily banned following a heated exchange with Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo. Brutal moment Tyrese Haliburton's dad is confronted by Thunders fans after Pacers' NBA Finals defeat

The Indiana Pacers had plenty to be sad about after a devastating Game 5 defeat to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Finals - especially after the loss of Tyrese Haliburton to injury. Indiana, which lost the game by 11 points to OKC at the Paycom Center on Monday, is now on the brink of losing the entire series once again. But after the game, when confronted by Thunder fans outside the arena, Haliburton's father John was able to withstand some chirping in a video posted to Streamable. Wearing his son's jersey, he was surrounded by a group of fans who started playfully mocking him - which John took in stride. One fan repeatedly said, 'What you think?' while others laughed at him after the loss. But after a few seconds, the tone changed, the group showed their appreciation for his passion, and one person even posed for a photo with him. It's a much better situation than from earlier in the NBA Playoffs when he got in the face of Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo after Indiana eliminated Milwaukee in the first round. John went on the court and waved a towel in celebration before bumping heads with the former MVP. Antetokounmpo called John's actions 'very disrespectful,' while the elder John apologized. Tyrese even called out his father's actions: 'He needs to just allow me to play basketball and stay over there, and I'll come to him to celebrate.' 'But the emotions of the game got excited there. I talked with him. I'll talk with Giannis about it. I don't think my pops was in the right at all there.' With the series shifting back to Indianapolis, Tyrese's health is the biggest question of the night. He's set to undergo an MRI to determine the extent of a calf injury he suffered in Game 5. Haliburton is determined to play: 'It's the Finals, man. It's the NBA Finals. I've worked my whole life to be here and I want to be out there to compete, help my teammates any way I can. I was not great (in Game 5) by any means, but it's not really a though of mine to not play here.

Shocking video emerges of Thunder fans trolling Tyrese Haliburton's father after Game 5

John Haliburton can roll with the punches. Tyrese Haliburton's father laughed and had a good time with Thunder fans ribbing him outside of Paycom Center after Oklahoma City's Game 5 120-109 win over the Pacers on Monday. John, wearing his son's yellow jersey, teased a few fans as if he would approach them while they chirped, but smiled through the interactions. One fan kept saying, 'What you think?' before John seemingly posed for a photo with another and then shook hands with someone, as captured in a 24-second video posted to Streamable. That John could smile through it all prevented any redos of his infamous on-court interaction with Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo during the first round that resulted in him and the Pacers agreeing to an eight-game ban that ended during the Eastern Conference finals. 6 John Haliburton has some fan with a fan. 6 John Haliburton outside the Thunder's arena. Tyrese Haliburton teases dad for ‘out of pocket' fashion faux pas at NBA Finals

John Haliburton was 'out of pocket' on Wednesday, but it wasn't for an interaction with an opposing player. The father of Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton caught some flak from his son over his wardrobe choice for Game 3 of the NBA Finals, which culminated in a 116-107 win for Indiana over the Thunder. A clip circulated on social media of the younger Haliburton — who scored 22 points with 10 assists and nine rebounds — going up to his dad during pregame warmups and joking with him about the pants he had on. 'You're out of pocket for them jeans,' Tyrese said as he dapped up his dad. 'You out of pocket for them jeans.' 3 Tyrese Haliburton made fun of his dad before NBA Finals Game 3 on June 11, 2025. CJ Fogler/X John appeared to smile and patted his son on the chest as Tyrese walked back onto the court. It wasn't immediately clear what made John's wardrobe choice so egregious that his son took a playful jab at him, but the elder Haliburton seemed to be all smiles on Wednesday night as he returned to his courtside seat for the first time since he got into a confrontation with Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo in Game 5 of the first round. His seat was directly behind an ESPN cameraman behind one of the baskets. 3 Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers reacts during the fourth quarter against the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game Three of the 2025 NBA Finals at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on June 11, 2025 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Getty Images John had not attended games in person following the first round incident until Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Knicks, when he sat in a suit far from the courtside view he usually had. Tyrese poked fun at the situation following that game — a 130-121 win for Indiana — when discussing his dad's return to Gainbridge Fieldhouse. 'I know people were saying, 'Free Pops' and Pops is free, but he was not in jail,' he told reporters at the time. 'He has a very beautiful home, very pretty to watch basketball. So he was just fine. I just wanted to win.' 3 John Haliburton attends Game 3 of the 2025 NBA Finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. With the win, the Pacers took a 2-1 series lead in the Finals.
