"Huge Blessing": Farooq Abdullah Takes A Ride In Vande Bharat From Srinagar
Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir): Jammu and Kashmir National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah took a ride on the Vande Bharat train from Nowgam Railway Station in Srinagar to Katra. Nowgam Railway Station is a crucial part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Link (USBRL) project, connecting Kashmir to Jammu area and the rest of India. Speaking to reporters, Farooq Abdullah expressed his happiness and termed this train as "a huge blessing" for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He added that the train will benefit the people of J-K and tourists a lot. The National Conference chief said, "I am very happy that I am travelling on this train to Katra. This is a huge blessing for us and is going to benefit tourists a lot. It is difficult to travel by road, and prices for air travel are extremely high. This train is going to benefit us a lot." The two Vande Bharat Express trains from Katra Railway Station, directly connecting the Jammu division with Kashmir, were flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 6. The new Vande Bharat Express train will take just about three hours to travel between Katra and Srinagar, reducing the existing travel time by two to three hours. These trains have been specially designed to operate in the cold climatic conditions of the Kashmir Valley. The train will run through the Anji Khad Bridge, which is India's first cable-stayed railway bridge, and the Chenab Bridge, which is the highest railway arch bridge in the world. Prime Minister also inaugurated the world's highest railway arch bridge - 'Chenab Railway Bridge' and India's first cable-stayed 'Anji Bridge' in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district. This marks a major milestone in Jammu and Kashmir's railway connectivity. The architectural marvel Chenab Rail Bridge, situated 359 metres above the river, is the world's highest railway arch bridge. It is a 1,315-metre-long steel arch bridge engineered to withstand seismic and wind conditions. A key impact of the bridge will be in enhancing connectivity between Jammu and Srinagar. All these projects are part of the ambitious Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project. The USBRL project is 272 kilometres long, constructed worth around Rs 43,780 crore, includes 36 tunnels (spanning 119 km) and 943 bridges. The project establishes all-weather, seamless rail connectivity between the Kashmir Valley and the rest of the country, aiming to transform regional mobility and drive socio-economic integration.

JKNC MP Mian Altaf Ahmad Larvi pays tribute
Ganderbal (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], June 8 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) MP Mian Altaf Ahmad Larvi on Sunday paid tributes at the 129th Urs of Mian Nizam-u-Din Kiyanvi (RA) and highlighted the saint's message of unity and spiritual wisdom. Devotees from various parts of the country gathered at Baba Nagri, Wangat Kangan to offer prayers at the revered shrine of Mian Nizam-u-Din Kiyanvi (RA) during the 129th Urs. The atmosphere was filled with spiritual devotion as people paid their respects and sought blessings. Many devotees expressed deep gratitude for being able to attend the annual event, calling it a spiritually uplifting experience that strengthens their faith and connection to the Sufi saint's teachings. On Tuesday, National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah welcomed the celebration of both the Kheer Bhawani Mela and the Urs of Hazrat Mir Syed Ali Hamdani, calling it a symbol of communal harmony in Kashmir. He stressed the importance of unity for national progress. Speaking to ANI, Farooq Abdullah said, 'It is a matter of joy that the mela of Kheer Bhawani and Urs of Hazrat Mir Syed Ali Hamdani are being celebrated today. There has always been brotherhood in the valley. We want to see this brotherhood across the country. If we stay united, we will progress.' The Kheer Bhawani Mela is an important annual religious festival for the Kashmiri Pandit community. It is held at the Kheer Bhawani Temple in Tulla Mulla village of Ganderbal district. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Ragnya Devi, a form of Goddess Durga, and is considered one of the holiest sites for Kashmiri Hindus. Abdullah also appealed to devotees to visit the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra, expressing concern over the drop in pilgrim numbers following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. 'We should go to Mata Vaishno Devi in Katra and appeal to the people to visit there. There has been a decrease in the number of devotees to Mata Vaishno Devi. People are scared after the tragedy of war that took place recently. The impact of the Pahalgam incident was seen throughout the country,' Abdullah told ANI. (ANI)

Thyrocare, Modern Diagnostic Center Open Diagnostic Lab in Srinagar
India: Thyrocare has launched its 33rd diagnostic laboratory in Srinagar, Kashmir, in partnership with Modern Diagnostic Center . The facility was inaugurated by Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Former Chief Minister and President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference. According to the company, the new lab is equipped with advanced technologies and staffed by trained personnel to support both routine and specialized diagnostic testing . The facility is intended to expand access to diagnostic services in the region. Commenting on the development, Rahul Guha, MD and CEO, Thyrocare, said, 'As we strengthen our presence in Jammu and Kashmir, we are not only bridging the diagnostic gaps but also advancing a tech-driven infrastructure that puts patients first- ensuring timely, secure, and affordable care for all.' Dr. Preet Kaur, Vice President, Lab Operations, Thyrocare added, 'Our laboratories nationwide have been instrumental in standardising diagnostic services and making them accessible to every patient.
