Read on to find out how to get a free ice cream at Popeyes SUN SAVERS Three great summer beauty tips to save you cash on pricey treatments HEADING to the beauty salon for a summer spruce-up can be pricey. So to save some cash, try these great DIY treatments at a fraction of the cost . . . Advertisement SEMI-PERMANENT LIPSTICK: More people are opting for semi-permanent lipstick to avoid constantly reapplying. And you can get longer-lasting definition and colour with self-tan products. Melanie Brownlow, founder of self-tan brand St Moriz, says: 'You'll need a very thin lip brush and a self-tan product with guide colour to check for precise placement. Using a tanning mousse, dip your brush and outline the lip line, or just above if you prefer to overline for a fuller look. Advertisement Keep the tan in place for two to three hours and avoid eating during this time.' Then wipe away excess, and your colour should last for several days. LASH LIFT: More people are getting their eyelashes lifted at the salon, but you can get a similar effect with a lash curler. Make sure you are using it correctly. Brand Tweezerman recommends beginning at the base of the lashes and holding for up to ten seconds, before moving to the middle and finally the tips. Always curl lashes before applying mascara. KERATIN TREATMENT: If your hair frizzes or dries out, keratin or Brazilian blowout treatments, which seal your locks with keratin solutions, can be tempting but typically cost more than £100. Advertisement A much cheaper option is to wash your hair with conditioner to tame frizz. Sabah Karimi, of fragrance retailer Vexa Beauty, says: 'Most shampoos strip natural oils, leading to more frizz. 'But a small amount of conditioner on your scalp helps cleanse without drying the hair out you can skip an extra product altogether. £2K Celeb Laser Facial Had Me Smelling Like Bacon 'Just massage it in well, rinse thoroughly, and follow with a tiny bit on your ends. Yemen's Houthis target Israel with ballistic missiles in coordination with Iran
Yemen's Houthis said on Sunday that they targeted Israel in coordination with Iran, the first time an Iran-aligned group has publicly announced joint cooperation on attacks with Tehran. The Yemeni group targeted central Israel's Jaffa with several ballistic missiles in the last 24 hours, military spokesperson Yehya Sarea said in a televised address. "Triumphing for the oppressed Palestinian and Iranian operation was coordinated with the operations carried out by the Iranian army against the criminal Israeli enemy," he added. Reuters

Mohammed Rizwan: What I, a Muslim, did not know about Israel
Walking down a beautiful corniche walkway along Mediterranean in Jaffa district not far from downtown Tel Aviv, criss-crossing my way amidst evening joggers and jovial teenagers, I suddenly froze, as I heard sound of Azan — an Islamic call to prayer — blaring from a nearby mosque. None from my group of visiting Canadian journalists took much notice, as few of them have already been to Israel, but for me, it was a shocker. I live in Canada, where religious freedoms are guaranteed and enshrined, but I never heard Azan blaring from loudspeakers here, or in Europe or the United States, even though there are mosques, churches, synagogues, temples that remain busy throughout the year there. Article content Article content It heard it in Israel. A supposedly Muslim-enemy state, a Jewish national home, an 'apartheid' state that has been at war with its Muslim Arab neighbours for the last 75 years. Article content Article content Article content So, which Israel is real? The one that allows Azan to play from loudspeakers for its two-million Muslim population, the one that employs a Muslim IDF soldier, who I met at the Lebanese border, or one that houses a large and affluent Muslim population in Haifa. Article content The problem lies in perception and perspective, I would say. Article content People around the world see Israel through their television screens and in context of a 75-year-old conflict, territorial disputes, and the Palestinian question. For most of the world, this is the only lens they hold to look at Israel. Depending on where you live in the world, and what world outlook you grew up with, one essentially looks at Israel through a geo-political binary. Article content Article content I think this is not the only way to look at the history and national character of a country. But to look at Israel differently has a prerequisite: leave your preconceived notions out of the bubble you currently live in, get to know the country first-hand, wear the hat of tolerance and love for all faiths, and then try and see the Israel story. Article content Article content There is a good chance that you would still see enough to criticize foreign policy choices Israel has made over the years, or, if you know enough context, one should be able to see why those choices were made, when they were made, over the last few decades. Article content Take for example two-state solution theory. How many people care to remember that there were three occasions in history when Israel agreed to and accepted a two-state solution (1948, 1991, 2000) but Palestinians refused. And finally, when they got the autonomy for Gaza and West Bank (which, in a way, was two-state, what else?), they used that autonomy and aid to perpetuate terrorism.

Yemen's Houthis target Israel with ballistic missiles in coordination with Iran
CAIRO, June 15 (Reuters) - Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis said on Sunday that they targeted Israel in coordination with Iran, the first time an Iran-aligned group has publicly announced joint cooperation on attacks with Tehran. The Israeli military earlier said sirens were activated in several areas in the country following missile launches from Iran and Yemen. Israel and Iran continued to exchange missile attacks since Israel launched its biggest-ever military strike against its longstanding enemy on Friday. On the same day Israel launched its attack on Iran, Israel said a missile that was launched from Yemen towards Israel fell in Hebron in the occupied West Bank. The Yemeni group however did not claim responsibility for the missile launch. The Houthis have been launching attacks against Israel, most of which have been intercepted, in what they say is support for Palestinians in Gaza during the Israel-Hamas war there since Hamas's October 7 2023 attack on Israel. Israel has carried out a series of retaliatory strikes. The U.S. also launched intensified strikes against the Houthis this year, before President Donald Trump halted the offensive after the Houthis agreed to stop attacks on American ships.

Jaffa Cake fans convinced the sweet treats taste different nowadays
McVities Jaffa Cakes have been around for almost 100 years – and some believe the recipe has evolved over the last century. So have you noticed any differences? Jaffa Cake enthusiasts are adamant the sweet treats don't taste like they used to. The McVities favourites, which have been around for almost a century, have come out in plenty of different varieties over the years. These include limited edition options such as raspberry, strawberry, lemon and lime, plus blackcurrant. The classic recipe is a sponge base with a layer of orange flavoured jam topped with dark chocolate, which is an absolutely delightful combination. However, when was the last time you picked up a packet? After not eating Jaffa Cakes for a while, foodies are convinced they taste a lot different than they remember. On Reddit, one critic said they felt "dry". Asking other customers if they had experienced the same, they asked: 'That 'spongey' bit? It's not the same spongey bit I remember growing up. It's like drywall. Well, drywall is a bit far, but it ain't no sponge. I had three, just to make sure I wasn't going crazy, and they were all the same.' Apparently, they weren't the only Jaffa Cake fans to feel this way. Their pals "all said the same thing" and were convinced they're 'just not the same'. Urging others to share their thoughts, they asked the social media forum: 'Has something changed? Have false memories allowed me to remember an absolutely supreme experience whilst munching on these delights? Or have they just decided to change the whole recipe to save a few quid?' People were quick to share their opinions – with many convinced the product has evolved over the years. One Redditor wrote: 'I used to think as you get old your taste buds change or you grew bigger but no, they f***ed with the sizes & recipes.' Another claimed: 'Off-brand Jaffa cakes have been superior for a few years now. Aldi ones are pretty good, M&S too'. Meanwhile, someone else complained about the size of Jaffa Cakes. They wrote: 'They used to be 12 but now 10 in a packet. They have shrunk as I can easily get one in my gob as 20 odd years ago I would struggle. So that's 10 mouthfuls for me.' One reason people may have noticed a change is that McVities made some tweaks a few years ago. Back in 2022, Jaffa Cakes were reduced from 5.5cm to 5cm across. That wasn't all either – as the orange filling was retracted from 4cm to just 3cm. That's bound to have impacted the eating experience for some!
