Rahul Gandhi begins moving to new official residence on 55th birthday

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi started moving into a new spacious Type-8 official bungalow—5, Sunehri Bagh Road, New Delhi— on his 55th birthday on Thursday. He will fully shift before the Monsoon Session of Parliament begins on July 21st. A Gandhi aide said he started shifting even as he is likely to continue meeting people at 10 Janpath, his mother Sonia Gandhi's residence, and Indira Bhavan, the Congress headquarters, even after settling in. Gandhi was entitled to the new residence as the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. 'He has done it up with a lot of passion, and hence it took a year,' said the aide. The aide said Gandhi has sought to recreate 'a private space' like 12, Tughlaq Lane, the house where he lived earlier. Gandhi has resided at 10, Janpath since 2023, when he vacated 12, Tughlaq Lane, following his disqualification from the Lok Sabha. In August 2023, Gandhi's Lok Sabha membership was restored 137 days after he was disqualified as the Supreme Court stayed his conviction in a criminal defamation case filed by a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader in Gujarat. Parliament's Estate Directorate offered Gandhi the Sunehri Bagh residence in 2024 following his return to the Lok Sabha and election as Leader of the Opposition. BJP leader and former Union minister A Narayanaswamy previously occupied the bungalow. Gandhi's sister and Congress leader, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, oversaw the decoration and furnishing of the new house. Gandhi will move into the new home with canine companions, Pidi Gandhi and Yassa, a Jack Russell Terrier. He also gifted his mother, former Congress President Sonia Gandhi, a Russell Terrier puppy, Noorie. The aide said it remains to be seen whether Gandhi's office will be at the new residence or Indira Bhavan, indicating that logistical decisions are pending. '[The shift] might herald a new time for RG [Rahul Gandhi...[The new address] will become the nerve centre as we go towards winning the 2029 election.'

Dad Takes Rambunctious Jack Russell Terrier Pups Canoeing and Total Chaotic Cuteness Ensues

Dad Takes Rambunctious Jack Russell Terrier Pups Canoeing and Total Chaotic Cuteness Ensues originally appeared on PetHelpful. It's summertime again. And that means summertime adventures for both animals and their humans. And summertime adventures mean fun outdoor activities, like canoeing. And one very loving canine dad is already in the summer spirit, taking his two precious Jack Russell Terrier pups to the lake for a good canoeing sesh. But as you can see in this adorable video, these two pups are just a couple of rambunctious, precious rascals who are all too happy to get into some really cute aquatica mischief as soon as they are out on the water. Well, wasn't that just too cute! As soon as these precious pups got out on the water, they wasted absolutely no time letting their human dad know that simply staying in the boat was not an option. They were there to swim and splash around. And, oh boy, did they ever! And why not? It was a beautiful day, and as this video shows, these two adorable Jack Russell Terrier puppies are fantastic swimmers. They were having the time of their lives doggy paddling after their human father as he leisurely canoed around the lake. Quite comically, their dad did lift them out of the water and put them back in the boat at one point, only for them to jump right back in a moment guess that these irresistible little doggies wanted to let their dad know that their aquatic enthusiasm could not be contained. As this other video shows, these Jack Russell Terrier pups are no strangers to aquatic adventures (click the link here to watch). Here they can be seen having an absolute ball, swimming and playing with their humans in a tranquil forest pond. Yup, these happy little guys are just a couple of true water dogs, living the best life while enjoying the great outdoors! And of course, safety first. Notice how each dog has their own lifejacket, because even though they are clearly both very capable swimmers, it's always a good idea to take every precaution to make sure that our four-legged companions are safe. Shopee responds after pet owner says deliveryman slammed window on senior dog

A Singapore pet owner shared her distress after a delivery incident allegedly caused injury to her senior dog. Instagram user @graceey.t shared a post on May 30 detailing a distressing incident involving her senior dog and a deliveryman. She claimed that the delivery worker, while delivering a Shopee parcel to her unit, slammed the sliding window on her dog, Bobby, after it barked at him. She said this act resulted in bleeding in her dog's mouth, and that even a week later, she was still finding traces of blood. She expressed frustration that Shopee had repeatedly assigned the same delivery personnel to her unit despite her complaints and said she wasn't asking for the delivery personnel to be fired, but simply wanted him reassigned to ensure her dog's safety. Stomp understands the incident involved a Jack Russell Terrier - a highly active breed known for its energy. When the delivery personnel approached the unit, the dog lunged forward and barked at him. The courier, who is in his 50s and has over a year of delivery experience, instinctively closed the window to prevent the dog from jumping at him. While this reaction might have been meant to protect himself, it may have unintentionally caused the injury. In response to a Stomp query, a Shopee spokesperson said they have reached out to the buyer to acknowledge the seriousness of the concern raised. "Our logistics partner has taken steps to ensure the matter is addressed constructively, including making arrangements for the reassignment of the delivery partner involved," a spokesperson said. "We are taking this as an opportunity to review our customer support and service partner training to better manage sensitive situations. "Shopee is committed to providing a safe and respectful experience for all users, and we appreciate the feedback that helps us continue to improve." In an update, the Instagram user thanked netizens for reading and reposting her story and confirmed that Shopee has reviewed the case and addressed the issues. "I'm grateful that necessary actions have been taken and they're finally making things right after the most frustrating two months of 2025 for my family and I."
