Nearly half (43 percent) say that being around smiley staff and friendly crew means the most to them and a third (37 percent) say that being taken care of is the most important thing when they are abroad, allowing them to make them feel more at home. With (33 percent) stating that friendly crew and staff make them feel more relaxed whilst they are abroad on their holidays. It's no surprise that three quarters (75 percent) want familiarity of home when they are on an abroad holiday, so TUI River Cruises has invited TV Presenter, Anthea Turner to spot all of those home from home comforts she can get onboard a TUI River Cruise this summer. Michelin-starred chef Angela Hartnett is opening a new restaurant at the Royal Opera House

Get prepped for a proper coming together of icons, as much-loved chef Angela Hartnett is set to open a brand new restaurant at London landmark, the Royal Opera House. The Michelin-starred founder of Mayfair's Murano will be launching the new venture in September. The restaurant will be on the fifth floor of the Royal Opera House and will also spill out onto the venue's terrace bar. The restaurant will serve lunch and dinner and the Turin-inspired terrace bar will be open throughout the day, serving drinks and nibbles and offering impressive rooftop views of Covent Garden. You don't have to be heading off to an opera to gain entry either - anyone will be able to visit. Speaking about the restaurant, Hartnett said: 'Opening at the Royal Opera House – such an iconic London institution – is a real privilege. We're creating something entirely new for the space: relaxed, with food that celebrates exceptional produce and simplicity. Most of all we want the restaurant and bar to be for everyone, not just for those attending a performance.' The menu for the restaurant hasn't been released yet, but we're promised 'sophisticated yet simple, Italian-inspired cooking'. Sounds more than good to us. Angela Hartnett founded Murano in 2008, one of London 's best Italian restaurants. It gained its Michelin star in 2009 - just a few months after opening. Hartnett then went on to launch the more casual Cafe Murano, which has sites in Covent Garden, St James's and Bermondsey. She currently hosts the Dish podcast with presenter Nick Grimshaw.

From Lockdown to Limoncello: Allegro Restaurant and Bar Launches Summer With Four-Year Anniversary Themed Celebration

Savoring summer and second chances, Allegro invites the community to toast life's sweet moments with a vibrant gathering, lively music, refreshing limoncello and an Italian feast. SAN DIEGO, June 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Allegro Restaurant and Bar, the city's premier upscale dining venue, is set to celebrate the arrival of summer with an exclusive, themed Limoncello Summer Kick-Off Party on Thursday, June 19th from 6:30 to 10:00 p.m. This elevated event promises an unforgettable evening of elegance, music, vibrant Italian-inspired flavors, and marks a heartfelt milestone: Allegro's 4-year anniversary. Tapping into the growing revival of classic Italian aperitivo culture, Allegro's summer party brings a taste of the Amalfi Coast to California. Guests will be welcomed with a yellow carpet entrance and a refreshing limoncello welcome drink, setting a radiant tone for the night. A glowing Allegro sign framed with lemons will provide the perfect backdrop for summer–worthy photos. In addition to the lively ambiance, attendees can indulge in delicious small bites thoughtfully curated to complement the limoncello theme. Music will energize the night, while exclusive giveaways (unveiled at just the right moments) will surprise and delight guests throughout the evening. The anniversary carries special meaning for General Manager Fabrizio, who opened Allegro in 2021 after losing his job at the height of the COVID–19 pandemic. In a gesture of hope and community, he chose the name Allegro, Italian for "lively" and "joyful," to signal brighter days ahead. Four years on, Allegro has become the beating heart of Little Italy—a place where neighbors gather, memories are made, and every visit feels like a celebration. "When I founded Allegro, I wanted more than just a sophisticated venue; I wanted a haven of positivity and connection," said Fabrizio, General Manager of Allegro San Diego. "Our Limoncello Summer Kick–Off stands as proof that, when we gather, shared moments reveal the true joy of life." The event is open to the public, welcoming longtime friends and first–time guests alike. Dr. Oetker's Pizza Pollo has now permanently disappeared from supermarket shelves. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 Dr Oetker Ristorante Pizza Pollo has been discontinued The savoury delight came with a tomato base and was topped with chicken, sweetcorn and herbs. It cost around £3 and was found in the frozen aisle of supermarkets like Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Iceland. Eagle-eyed customers took to social media to find out what happened to the Italian-inspired dish. Writing on X, one customer said: "I cannot find your pizza pollo anywhere anymore. "I am absolutely gutted as it was my fave. Has it been discontinued???" A spokesperson confirmed in a response to the customer that the pizza flavour was no more. They said: "Our Pollo pizza has been discontinued in the UK, but we'll let our pizza experts know that you want it back! Thanks." The move will come as a blow to shoppers who in the past described it as "delicious." Another shopper said the pizza was their "family's favourite". They said: "The amount of tomato and cheese is just right on the base then you get the toppings of chicken and spinach which are delicious." Beloved pizza chain to close down for good in just weeks after 54 years Dr. Oetker still has a range of flavours available to customers, including Mozzarella and Hawaiian. The news comes in the same week pizza lovers were told that Domino's Ultimate Chicken Mexicana Pizza was axed. The menu option combined spiced pulled chicken, juicy tomatoes, crunchy onions, spicy jalapenos and green and red peppers, topped with a spiced mayo drizzle. However, Domino's has now confirmed it has been dropped from menus. MORE DISCONTINUED FOOD Foodies were also devastated to learn that Greggs has axed two menu items. The Chargrill Chicken Oval Bite and Spicy Veg Curry Bake are no longer being sold in stores. Elsewhere, Sticky soy sauce has now permanently disappeared from the Wetherspoon menu. The Asian-inspired dip, which was often served with breast bites, was a popular choice amongst diners. Spoons has also cut steak, mixed grills and gammon from menus across the country in a cost-cutting shake-up. But it is not all bad news for punters as the chain has launched a range of new Gourmet Burgers. Spoons also launched a £2.99 breakfast deal in February, with customers able to get a breakfast muffin or small breakfast with soft or hot drink.
