ITV The Chase removed from screens in huge scheduling shake up
ITV The Chase has been pulled off air in an unexpected scheduling change The Chase will not air on ITV1 tonight following a schedule shake-up. The popular ITV game show, presented by Bradley Walsh, has been removed from its usual 5pm slot to make way for the continuing coverage of Royal Ascot. The horse racing will be screened from 1:30pm - 6pm tonight, disrupting The Chase's usual time slot. No episode of the popular programme aired on Tuesday June 17. The schedule change is set to continue throughout the rest of the week, meaning no episode will air on Thursday or Friday either. Fans will need to patiently wait until next Monday (June 23) to see the show return to screens. The daytime TV behemoth features a team of the some of the UK's best quizzing gurus including Mark Labbett (The Beast), Shaun Wallace (The Dark Destroyer), Jenny Ryan (The Vixen), Anne Hegerty (The Governess), Paul Sinha (The Sinnerman) and Darragh Ennis (The Menace). The Chase first debuted on screens in 2009 and soon became a hit among viewers. Hopeful contestants battle it out and test their general knowledge skills as they attempt to beat the chaser and take home a whopping cash prize. It is not the first time the quiz show has faced disruption to scheduling. Earlier this month, it was taken off air to make way for coverage of the UEFA Women's Nations League, Spain v England. The Chase also had to switch up its usual time slot last week when two Soccer Aid for UNICEF Celebrity special episodes aired on Wednesday and Friday. Last Wednesday, Shaun Williamson, Lianne Sanderson, Dion Dublin and David James all teamed up to try and beat chaser Darragh Ennis. After four rounds, the entire team managed to make it back, and have been praised for their "superb" win after they managed to beat the quiz guru and take home £150k for UNICEF. The stars sent an impressive 23 score for Darragh which he was unable to beat. Fans at home were delighted as one said: "This is the best episode I've seen, they have to win this." Another chimed in: "Wow what a well deserved win. Such a great team! £150K." Meanwhile, Dermot O'Leary, Kyle Walker, Alex Brooker and Lynsey Hipgrave went up against Anne Hegarty on Friday night. For the special occasion, Anne switched up her usual ITV attire and appeared in a football top and red lipstick instead. She was also defeated by the team who managed to bag an incredible £169k for UNICEF after answering 21 correct questions. The Chase will resume its normal scheduling time slot of 5pm on ITV every weekday next week.

The Chase's Paul Sinha 'hands in notice' as players win huge prize after blunder
Scenes on ITV's quiz show The Chase earlier this week saw contestants win an impressive sum after one took a risk during the cash builder which later paid off after a blunder ITV The Chase's Paul Sinha "hands in notice" after players won £100,000 in a show that aired this week. Host of the programme Bradley Walsh joked that Paul needed to quit his job as a Chaser after the blunder. He said that Paul has "handed his notice in" after an "unbelievable" final round where the contestants won. Players Ian, Jennie, Gregor and Karen all started out on the show in a bid to win some money. Ian, who was a magician from London, took on the Chaser first as he managed to get £6,000 in the cash builder. He then went up against The Sinnerman in the next round. He managed to beat Paul and landed himself a place in the final. Jennie then tried her luck but was unfortunately beaten by the Chaser and was sent home. Karen then stunned the audience and viewers at home as she went for the high offer of £93,000. Fans of the show took to social media to applaud Karen for going for the biggest amount of money. One said: "Good girl!," while a second added: "Karen didn't even stutter taking that high offer." The gamble paid off as she managed to also get into the final with Ian, which meant they had the chance to win £100,000 between them. The two players managed to answer 16 questions correctly in the final chase before Paul tried to beat them. However, Paul wasn't able to beat them as he usually would, which meant they walked away with £50,000 each. There was only one second left on the clock as Bradley said: "That was close." The Chaser then praise Ian and Karen as he added: "You absolutely deserve every penny of that." He then expressed how disappointed he was with himself as he joked: "I've cost ITV £100,000 but you don't need to care about any of that." It was then that Bradley quipped: "That's a funny way to hand in your notice." Ian and Karen then went on to talk about how they planned to spend their winnings. Karen said she wanted to treat her son by taking him to the Abu Dhabi Formula One Grand Prix while Ian said he wanted to splash out on a new car. Despite his loss, it was recently revealed that The Sinnerman is the most successful Chaser. Betway reported that Paul has a 78 percent win rate across 436 appearances on The Chase. His average target to beat is 19 and he holds the highest average Chaser win total, raking in £14,651, which makes him the most financially successful Chaser on the show.

ITV The Chase viewers 'sickened' as Scots contestants lose out on huge cash prize by seconds
ITV The Chase viewers weren't happy with the Chaser's questions. One Scots contestant appeared on The Chase on Monday night but lost out on his share of £61,000, leaving fans frustrated. Viewers tuning into the ITV show branded it 'sickening' as the commercial operations specialist went home with nothing. Fraser, from Edinburgh, was on the hopeful panel of players alongside Kerry, Ellena and Alex. Fraser, who works for an online review firm, was the last to take on the Chaser, The Vixen. Fraser told host Bradley Walsh that if he won the jackpot., he would put it towards visiting every Disney park in the world. He accumulated £5,000 in his Cash Builder ahead of a tough game against Jenny Ryan. Fraser managed to get back to the team after bagging himself a spot in the final chase. He wasn't the only Scottish person to make it through, with Alex from Fife joining him, alongside Kerry. The trio had collectively banked £61,000 and achieved a combined score of 20. But it proved not to be enough to actually take home the cash prize. Kerry, Alex and Fraser were caught by The Vixen with just twelve seconds remaining. Despite a great performance throughout the show, the team went home empty-handed. However, viewers seemed to feel The Vixen was dealt an 'easier' hand. Many took to social media to discuss her triumph. One penned: "Much easier questions for the vixen." Another added: "What easy questions for Jenny!" A third posted: "Much easier questions for the chaser, as per." One even said: "What a p**s take that was. The questions for the chaser were so simple." Last week, show host Bradley Walsh opened up on his role on the Chase. In 2009, Bradley took the reins as host of ITV's quiz phenomenon, marking a strategic shift in his professional path. Walsh detailed how he snagged the opportunity to host The Chase after popping into ITV studios to enquire about presenting jobs. While reminiscing during a conversation with the former head of daytime TV, she mentioned an upcoming quiz show concept, prompting Bradley's feedback. Recounting their discussion, Bradley shared: "I took it away and I said 'Yes, this can work, this will work' and she said, 'Okay, well we're going to make a pilot' and I said, 'I'll do it for you' and she said, 'Yeah, but it's only an office run-through' and I said, 'I'll do it for you, don't worry'." During an appearance on the Tommy Tiernan show last year, he remembered kick-starting the pilot and devising the monikers for The Chasers. Fast forward nearly 16 years, Bradley's enthusiasm for The Chase hasn't waned, and he has no intention of quitting anytime soon. In conversation with the Daily Mail, he mused: "Until people say they've had enough and start switching off, I'll do it. We've had such an extraordinary time together. It's the best job in the world." The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
