Tony Bellew is famed for being an ex-professional boxer and he's also carved out a career in TV. Take a look into his life away from the cameras... Tony Bellew is now a regular on our TV screens, with the star having graced shows like I'm A Celebrity and Celebrity Gogglebox in recent years. Originally gaining recognition as a professional boxer, Tony has since become a television personality after hanging up his gloves in 2018. He's now set to feature on Alison Hammond's Big Weekend, where the former boxer will share insights about his personal life, health, and family life with wife Rachael and their four sons. Before his next telly stint, let's delve into Tony's life, from his remarkable career and net worth to his early days... Tony's early days Tony, born Anthony Lewis Bellew, hails from Toxteth, Liverpool, born in November 1982. His formative years were spent residing on Mulgrave Street in Toxeth, before the family relocated to Smithdown Road near Wavertree, reports the Liverpool Echo. Tony took up kickboxing around the age of 10, spurred on by his father, despite harbouring dreams of becoming a footballer. Kickboxing paved the way for boxing for Tony, and he eventually decided to go pro. Boxing career Tony stepped into the professional boxing ring in 2007, making his debut with a 2nd-round TKO against Jamie Ambler. He continued to notch up several more victories in 2007 and 2008, and by 2009 had maintained an unbeaten record of 12-0. He went on to square off against the likes of Nathan Cleverly, Mateusz Masternak, Ilunga Makabu and BJ Flores. In 2017, Tony stepped into the ring for his first heavyweight bout against David Haye. He later returned to cruiserweight, taking on Oleksandr Usyk in 2018, but was defeated. From 2010 to 2014, Tony held the British and Commonwealth light-heavyweight titles, as well as the European cruiserweight title from 2015 to 2016. He also held the WBC cruiserweight title from 2016 to 2017. After his bout with Usyk, Tony announced his retirement. He hung up his gloves with a record of 30 victories from 34 professional fights, with 20 of those wins coming inside the distance. He suffered three defeats and one draw. Post-retirement, Tony appeared on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins in 2020. The following year, he joined the UK commentary team for DAZN and began regularly contributing to their boxing coverage. In 2023, he participated in ITV's I'm A Me Out of Here! and reprised his role as 'Pretty' Ricky Conlan in Creed III, a character he first played in the original Creed in 2015. The former boxer also partnered with Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford for Celebrity Gogglebox, and took part in Soccer Aid this year. Who is Tony Bellew's wife? Tony has been married to Rachael since 2018, but the pair have been together since their teenage years. The pair first locked eyes as nine year olds living on the same street in Merseyside. Their paths crossed again years later when Tony, working as a bouncer, met Rachael at a nightclub where she was dancing, and their friendship blossomed into romance. Their love continued to grow, and they are now proud parents to four sons: Corey, Cobey, Carter, and Carson. In 2018, Tony and Rachael exchanged vows in a grand ceremony at Cheshire's Peckforton Castle, surrounded by loved ones. The boxer often expresses his admiration for his wife on social media. Last year, he penned a heartfelt tribute to mark their anniversary. "I've been through everything with this girl and couldn't have done or achieved anything without her! The day we came together was the most important day of my life.. I love ya more than you know @rachael_bellew, oh and I'm looking to play golf twice this week luv.. #Anniversary," Tony wrote. Tony's net worth According to The Net Worth Portal, Tony's net worth is estimated to be £9.6 million as of 2023. His most significant boxing payout came from his first fight with David Haye, reportedly earning him £2.8 million. Tony's 2018 bout with Usyk boosted his career earnings to a reported £15 million, largely due to pay-per-view sales and venue gate revenue. Alison Hammond's Big Weekend airs on Friday at 8.30pm on BBC One

A Place in the Sun star Scarlette Douglas was meant to be on plane which crashed and killed her friend
Former I'm A Celebrity star Scarlette opened up about her fear of flying after she was supposed to be on the doomed Air France flight. A Place in the Sun host Scarlette Douglas has admitted that she "hates flying" because she was supposed to be on a doomed plane which crashed and killed more than 200 people. Despite hosting the popular travel show, Scarlette revealed that she really dislikes air travel after her friend died when Air France Flight 447 crashed into the mid-Atlantic Ocean in June 2009. All 228 people onboard, including Scarlette's friend, lost their lives in the tragedy. According to The Mirror, Scarlette was meant to be on the Airbus A330 after her friend booked both their seats. However, the presenter had a job in Hollywood so didn't travel in the end. Scarlette, who appeared on I'm A Celebrity in in 2022, made the heartbreaking admission at the Taste of London Food Festival opening party in Regent's Park this week. Speaking to a Daily Mail reporter, she said: "I lost a really good friend of mine in the Air France crash from Brazil to France. The scary thing was I was supposed to be on that flight. She had booked it." Scarlette says she "hates flying" as a result, which proved a challenge for her role on A Place in the Sun. She hosted the programme and its various spin-offs between 2015 and 2022, before her I'm a Celeb stint. The star was asked about flying in the wake of the Air India plane crash, which saw all but one of those onboard the Boeing die in a horror crash. A total of 53 Brits were killed after the plane, destined for Gatwick Airport, collided into a medical college in Ahmedabad, western India. Although the investigation into the crash continues, an aviation expert has claimed the co-pilot pulled the plane's wing flaps instead of retracting the landing gear moments after take-off. But inconsistent airspeed indications and miscommunication led to the pilots inadvertently stalling the doomed Air France plane, on which Scarlette's friend travelled in 2009. They failed to recover the plane from the stall, and the plane crashed into the mid-Atlantic Ocean. The investigation was hampered because the aircraft's flight recorders were not recovered from the ocean floor until May 2011, nearly two years after the accident. Eventually, the final - and conclusive - report by France's Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety (BEA) was published on July 2012. The majority of those onboard the four-year-old Airbus were Brazilians and French citizens. However, five tragic Brits died in the atrocity, including 11-year-old boy Alexander Bjoroy, oil worker Graham Gardner and PR executive Neil Warrior.

Vicky Pattison slams Meghan Markle's 'cringe' move as Duchess 'gave her the ick'
Former Queen of the Jungle Vicky Pattison has revealed that one moment in Meghan Markle's Netflix series, involving a Hollywood star, made her 'get the ick' 'I'm A Celebrity' alum Vicky Pattison expressed her disgust about Meghan Markle 's controversial moment on her Netflix show. In a candid chat with co-host Angela Scanlon during their 'Get A Grip' podcast, they delved into the life of the Duchess of Sussex. Vicky couldn't hide her disappointment when recounting how Meghan, in her 'With Love, Meghan' series, told off Mindy Kaling for calling her by her maiden name, instead of Sussex. On the moment, Vicky said: "When Meghan corrected Mindy Kaling. And I like that Mindy, I think she's alright. "So I was like, 'Oh'. There's no way I'm slapping my pal's wrist on my Netflix series just for something like that. I really got the ick." Still, Vicky admitted that initially, she was rooting for Meghan and Prince Harry's decision to distance themselves from Royal duties. She reflected: "Harry's obviously unhappy in his role in the Royal Family. If he wants to take a step back.." She added praise for the Prince's independent streak, she explained: "He's always been a bit rebellious, a bit rogue. I was actually all for them retreating off into the distance, bringing up their gorgeous little kids, being really happy." However, Vicky questioned the couple's judgment following the release of footage depicting the couple twerking in the delivery room on Princess Lillibet's fourth birthday, saying it probably didn't do them any favours. She summarised: "Ultimately, the general consensus is that it's a bag of cringe on toast." Vicky's comments come just days after she discussed the effect of PMDD (pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder) on her relationship with her partner Ercan Ramadan. In a candid chat with Elizabeth Day for the How To Fail podcast, Vicky delved into how the illness impacts her everyday life. Expressing her anguish, she said: "It absolutely kills me that for a quarter of our life, I am not the person that he fell in love with, and not the person that he thought he was marrying. "Because that is the reality, I'm not myself. I'm not recognisable at all. I could be screaming one second and sobbing the next, then completely disassociating, unable to be social, lost, afraid, whatever it is – however it's manifesting itself that week." Explaining the emotional burden it places on their relationship, she added: "He's had to learn to love that version of me as well. And that is really difficult. And that is not something I would ask of me worst enemy, let alone the man I love more than anything else in the world." Vicky also expressed immense pride in how Ercan has adapted to her struggles with PMDD, highlighting his reaction as a genuine reflection of his character. She added: "It is a true testament to him and his character that he's learned to understand it because not every man does. I found the one thing that helps is communication. "So saying to him [...] I'm coming into PMDD week. And he goes, 'That's okay. Like, we'll just take it slow'." Vicky and Ercan tied the knot back in August 2024, around five years since their path first crossed through mutual friends in 2019.

I'm A Celeb cast no longer speaking after Danny and Maura's drunken kiss
Former I'm A Celebrity star GK Barry has revealed that the group WhatsApp between the cast members has 'died down' following Danny Jones and Maura Higgins' kiss scandal Last year's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! stars are no longer speaking after Danny Jones and Maura Higgins' kiss. The pair who became pals in the Australian jungle left fans stunned earlier this year when they were pictured locking lips at a lavish BRIT Awards after party. Danny, who is married to podcaster Georgia Jones, later apologised for his actions in a grovelling social media apology. However, Maura has remained silent about the scandal. Now, their co-star GK Barry, whose real name is Grace Keeling, has revealed the 2024 cast's group WhatsApp chat has died down. While some of the famous faces who took part are in regular contact, conversations have mellowed between the wider group which consisted of GK, Danny, Maura, Jane Moore, Coleen Rooney, Melvin Odoom, Reverend Richard Coles, Tulisa Contostavlos and Dean McCulloch. Grace has since opened up on The Katie Price podcast about her jungle experience and the friendships she made on the show. Katie, who appeared on the show twice, asked: "Have you kept in contact, because this is another thing, when I've done Big Brother and all of that, you're like, Yeah, 'I'll stay in contact...' "But you know the ones you'll stay in contact with, and some you just know… In the beginning, you text and then…" Grace responded: "We had a group chat. It has died down slightly as you can imagine, it's died down." She went on to add: "But I still keep in contact with the Rev [Richard Coles] and Dean [McCullough], I still keep in contact with a little bit, but mainly the Rev and Melvin [Odoom]. "I keep in contact with Melvin quite a lot." But while Maura and Danny were snapped locking lips in the early hours of March 2, the group chat was active in April. Speaking about the chat, Radio 1 DJ Dean said in April: "No, no one's left. Everyone's in it. Everyone's chatting away. I just love it because you'll just wake up one morning, and there'll just be a picture of Coleen on the school run with the kids, or Richard, the other day, sent us a picture of him at 10 o'clock in the morning in full fancy dress. "He was dressed as a nun. Everyone's in it, of course, and excited to meet up again." While GK found fame on TikTok, her status has been boosted since her stint in the jungle, with her going on to land a regular panellist position on ITV's Loose Women and even a stint on BBC Radio 1. From July 4, she will appear on the national station every Saturday and Sunday from 1pm through til 4pm. She said: "This is completely different from podcasting. I'm really excited to be presenting my own show with BBC Radio 1 this summer… "I'm always listening to the radio when I travel, so I can't wait to interact with the listeners and get them involved in all the fun."
