My job is testing running shoes — here are 5 shoes on sale for under $100 I'd recommend

I get to test and review the best running shoes for a living and, yes, it's a pretty sweet gig all round. I usually test around 50 pairs of shoes a year, and love being able to recommend the right shoe to a runner, especially when that shoe is available at a big discount. Running shoes are not cheap, so I keep track of my favorites that I expect to drop in price in the sales, and when they do I like to tell the world so runners don't miss out. Right now there are five shoes I know will be perfect for a whole lot of runners that have been reduced to under $100, so if you're in need of new running kicks right now, don't miss out on these excellent deals. The Hoka Mach 6 is a shoe I go back to time and time again, because it's a simple but highly versatile option for daily training, and I also like the look of it for casual use. The lightweight design still has enough cushioning underfoot to be comfortable over long distances, and the rocker shape helps you to roll smoothly along at any pace, from easy plods to all-out intervals. The men's shoe is down to $97 in the Hoka sale, while the women's Mach 6 is available for $111, which is still a good deal. The Rebel v4 is one of the best shoes I've tested in the last year, with an incredibly lightweight but still cushioned and stable design that makes it suitable for all kinds of runs and all kinds of runners. The Rebel v5 has just launched, meaning the Rebel v4 is ripe for discounts, and having tested both models I'd say the Rebel v4 is the one I'd go for given this saving as there isn't a big upgrade with the new shoe. The women's Rebel v4 is also reduced to $99 in the Running Warehouse sale. The Adidas Supernova Rise 2 wasn't a shoe that dazzled me during testing, but I thought it was a good value daily trainer at its full price of $140, so would absolutely recommend considering it for just $70 in the Adidas sale. Both the women's and men's Supernova Rise 2 are reduced by 50% right now, and it's a nimble but cushioned daily trainer that's also highly durable. One of the most popular and reliable running shoes around, the Nike Pegasus has been around for 41 years and the latest version is a strong addition to the line. I found it comfortable for easy and long runs, and good for walking as well, and there are a range of deals on the Pegasus 41 available in the Nike sale. The women's Pegasus 41 is down to $105, and there are some NFL/college team editions reduced to $82. While it's not a shoe that wows you on the run with its speed or springiness, the Brooks Ghost 16 is comfortable, durable and just incredibly dependable. It's a shoe I often recommend to new runners, but works well for runners of any level really, and both the women's and men's Brooks Ghost 16 are reduced to under $100 on Amazon. I'm just testing the Ghost 17 now, and wouldn't say the new shoe is worth paying a lot more for than the Ghost 16, so this deal is worth picking up.

This Is the Worst-Performing S&P 500 Stock of the Year. Here's Why It Could Be a Screaming Buy

Deckers stock is down 50% this year on slowing growth and pressure from tariffs. With its valuation at a discount, the stock looks like an attractive buy. Its core brands, Hoka and Ugg, are still delivering solid growth. 10 stocks we like better than Deckers Outdoor › We're nearly at the midway point of the year, and the S&P 500 is essentially flat through June 17, up just 1.7%. The broad market index nearly entered a bear market in April, following the announcement of the "Liberation Day' tariffs, but has rallied back since then to recoup those losses. However, not every stock on the index has been a winner. In fact, one popular footwear stock is down nearly 50% for the year through June 17. That's Deckers Outdoor (NYSE: DECK), the maker of Hoka running shoes and Ugg boots, which is down 49.5% year-to-date. Over a long time frame, Deckers is one of the best-performing stocks on the market -- it had returned more than 10,000% at one point. After delivering strong growth in recent years, Deckers stock hit a wall in January when its guidance was worse than expected. When the company provided its following update in May, its growth was clearly slowing, and it faced a new challenge with President Donald Trump's tariffs putting pressure on the apparel and footwear industries. In its fiscal fourth quarter, ended March 31, Deckers' revenue rose just 6.5%, which compared to nearly 20% growth in the first three quarters of the year. Growth at Hoka slowed from nearly 30% in the first three quarters of the year to just 10% in the fourth quarter, potentially a sign that a resurgent Nike is grabbing back market share in running. Ugg, which remains Deckers' largest brand, grew just 3.6% in the quarter compared to 13% for the full year. What really threw investors off was the company's guidance, as management did not give full-year guidance due to macroeconomic uncertainty related to tariffs. For the first quarter, the company expects revenue of $890 million to $910 million, representing 9% growth at the midpoint. However, it expects earnings per share to fall from $0.75 to between $0.62 and $0.67. It sees its gross margin falling 250 basis points due to higher freight costs from tariffs, increased promotional activity, and channel mix headwinds with wholesale outgrowing DTC, and it faces difficult comparisons with a year ago. For its two core brands, Deckers expects Hoka to grow by at least low double digits while Ugg sales should increase by at least mid-single digits. A 50% sell-off in less than six months often indicates a broken business, but that isn't the case with Deckers. The company seems to face a mostly temporary setback due to pressure related to tariffs and a cooling off in the growth rate at Hoka. With its share price cut in half, Deckers now trades at an attractive price-to-earnings valuation of just 16, meaning it trades at a substantial discount to the S&P 500. Management is also taking advantage of that by buying back stock, increasing its share repurchase authorization to $2.5 billion, which represents 16% of its market cap. In fiscal 2025, the company repurchased $567 million worth of its stock, and bought back $85 million in the first quarter through May 9. Deckers is well-positioned to buy back its stock as it has no debt, $1.9 billion in cash, and a reasonable assets-to-liabilities ratio of 3.5. Over the long term, Deckers looks well-positioned to recover as its two core brands, Hoka and Ugg, have differentiated themselves, and have long track records of growth. Ugg also overcame an earlier slowdown amid concerns that its brand was a fad. At the current valuation, even modest profit growth will be enough to make the stock a winner. The tariff-related headwinds will eventually fade, and Deckers' growth should return at that point. Nike delays launch of women's brand in partnership with Kim Kardashian's Skims

Nike 's launch of a new women's activewear brand in the U.S. through a partnership with Kim Kardashian-owned shapewear label Skims has been delayed, the Air Jordan maker's spokesperson told Reuters on Wednesday. The partnership, which was announced in February, is part of new CEO Elliott Hill's plan to turn the struggling company around and broaden its product offerings to compete with brands such as Roger Federer-backed On and Deckers' Hoka. Skims, which was launched in 2019, has seen growing demand for its premium bras, loungewear and shapewear. With anticipation high among stakeholders and consumers, the two sides have delayed the launch as they work to get the product right, the Nike spokesperson said. The delay was first reported by Bloomberg News. The new brand is set to be called NikeSKIMS, and is expected to include training apparel, footwear and accessories for women. The initial plan was to launch its first collection at some U.S. retail locations in the spring of this year, as well as on its website. It was to be available more widely in 2026. The partnership with Skims has been applauded by investors and analysts, who hope it will help Nike make up ground after falling behind in the women's activewear market , where Lululemon and Gap's Athleta have emerged as a winners.

If your sneaker soles are feeling flat lately or you're looking for a pair you can call your daily workhorse, take this as your sign that it's time for an upgrade. The ultra-popular Saucony Triumph 22 running shoe in on sale in women's and men's sizes for up 25% off to make room for the brand's newly released Triumph 23. That means you can grab a pair of what one reviewer says is so soft, it's like 'like walking on a cloud,' for as low as $119.95, down from its regular $160 price tag, before they're permanently discontinued. And don't you worry about not having the latest edition — several reviewers say the Triumph 22 is their favorite Saucony model so far, perfect for walking, jogging and even users say these sneakers are great for walking, running, and daily use; some even say they've helped relieve body pain, thanks to a wide toe box.'I recently switched up my shoes and went with a brand that had a narrower toe box and more rigid rubber sole,' explains one reviewer. 'After 300 miles or so, I started to notice pain in my hips, an awkward gait/landing and pain in my foot from what felt like too narrow a box. When I switched back to the Triumph 22, it was a breath of fresh air. Impact was far more cushioned while still feeling lively.'These sneakers have plenty of mesh perforation for breathability and thick outsoles for reducing impact and a soft landing. They also sport pull tabs for easy wear and come in eight colors.'So cushiony!' raves one reviewer. 'These are the most cushioned shoes I have ever had on. I didn't even need to add my personal insoles to wear them.'Users say they've worn them for everything from 5K races to daily walking, and they're supportive enough for flat feet and back pain thanks to solid arch support and comfy cushioning. One reviewer actually says they wore their pair for an average of 11 miles a day in Europe and had zero pain!Consider these for softer landings and foot support if you need new sneakers, especially at up to 25% off. Read on for more promising reviews of the Saucony Triumph 22, and nab a pair today. Promising reviews: 'Purchased these for a trip to every day/all day, averaged over 11 miles daily and my feet NEVER hurt!' —Buffalo Boy'These were recommended as being excellent for those with Morton's Neuroma. The term refers to a thickening of aggravated nerve tissue on the ball of the foot. It can feel like pressing on a small, sharp rock or even a tack with every step. It's painful! I purchased the Saucony Triumph 22 in a size 10 and wide to alleviate even slight pressure from the sides. The length fits on target with comparable sneakers like Hoka, Brooks, and Sketchers. The toe box is generous, and the cushioned footbed is just right for maximum comfort. They deliver just the right amount of arch support, and my compromised left foot is no longer experiencing that debilitating stinging and radiating pain. These sneakers have not only significantly enhanced my quality of life but also look very attractive as well — not at all like some sort of dated clod hoppers despite the build of the sole. I wish there were more color options offered in the wide width. So far, I think they are pretty great, and I'd like to purchase a second pair. I'll now be able to enjoy vacation with my family zooming through airport terminals, zipping a long walk through a redwood forest, navigating concrete and steps on an Alcatraz tour, and pursuing whatever else we will be doing when we visit California. I'll be up for all of it! Thanks, Saucony!' —MO'I have run a minimum of a mile/day, every day for almost four years now. In that time, I have gone through a few pairs of shoes, and my 'go-to' has been Triumphs for probably 10 years now.I have seen versions come and go... good and bad changes, but always come back to a new pair of Triumphs.I recently switched up my shoes and went with a brand that had a narrower toe box and more rigid rubber sole. After 300mi or so, I started to notice pain in my hips, an awkward gait/landing, and pain in my foot from what felt like too narrow a I switched back to the Triumph22, it was a breath of fresh air. Impact was far more cushioned while still feeling lively.I will say, in the last two or three models, Saucony went with the split in the rear of the sole. This model seems much better, but I have had some real issues with durability and longevity here. The rubber that comes to a point in the rear would get worn and start to peel. I also think standing calf stretches may be too much for this design. Seems like running shoes should be able to handle some HIGHLY RECOMMEND! These are absolutely my favorite shoes... Just hope Saucony addresses the minor durability issue.' —Tyler Durden'I did a ton of research online and bought these shoes after buying the Saucony Guide 17 and not loving them. First, I wear a 9 in Saucony, and this was true in this shoe. They fit perfectly, and there was room for my orthotics I wear for plantar fasciitis. Even with orthotics, there was no squishing, tightness on top, or heel slippage, which is amazing. They have a mesh top to keep the shoe light, and still have structure to keep stability and the shoe from getting sloppy-looking. The sole is large- about 2 inches at the highest, but that is how they pack in all the cushion and shock absorption. The color is great. I bought bright aqua. Overall, I highly recommend this shoe! I love it!!' —Teresa Get them from Amazon for $119.95+ (available in women's sizes 5–14 and men's sizes 4–15, and a number of color choices).

These $60 Amazon Sneakers Are Nurse-approved and ‘More Comfortable' Than $145 Hokas

I've been traveling for more than 20 years and believe the best way to see a place is on foot. That, of course, requires a cushioned pair of walking shoes—I learned that the hard way after my podiatrist told me I was wearing the wrong sneakers. There were plenty of viral footwear brands and styles that caught my eye for their plush cushioning, but many of their $100-plus price points steered me to look for more affordable alternatives in Amazon's fashion store. That's how I found these nurse-approved Nortiv 8 sneakers that look almost identical to the $145 pair I had in my cart. Right now, the supportive shoes that shoppers have been calling 'more comfortable' than their pricier counterparts have been restocked for just $60. Amazon shoppers can't get over how supportive and cushioned Nortiv 8's walking shoes are, including nurses who spend as many as 12 hours on their feet per day. One nurse, in particular, said, 'For the first time in years, I don't come home with aching feet.' They continued, 'I also bought a pair of Hoka shoes, but these are more comfortable and for a fraction of the price.' Another nurse, who was a former fan and wearer of Hoka shoes, bought these to replace the costly sneakers. They wrote, 'They are so comfortable and feel like I'm walking on a cloud.' Similar to Hokas, the sneakers come with an extra-thick sole. It's made from Nortiv 8's ActiveFloat cushion technology to provide arch support and slip resistance, and to help take some strain off your knees, according to the brand. Whether you're exploring a new city, going for a morning jog, or just running errands, the shoe's thick sole will adapt to your activity to keep you comfortable. You don't have to worry about blisters either, according to one Universal Park attendee who wore them right out of the box with no break-in period and walked 20,000 steps a day. Plus, the breathable mesh upper can provide airflow to help keep your feet cool, another reviewer noted, which is especially handy on long travel days. You can also expect some slight stretch within the upper to help you slip your feet inside with ease. Chiming in, a shopper who works in nursing said they had great traction on a flooded floor. They said that these were the first shoes they've worn that didn't leave their feet hurting at the end of their 16-hour work days: 'I'm glad I saved myself a hundred bucks and went with these instead." The walking sneakers also come in a range of colors, including classic white and bold, statement-making colors like hot pink. Shop Nortiv 8 walking shoes while they're still available.
