Nani TROLLED For Justifying HIT 3 Success Meet Amid Rising India-Pak Tensions

Last Updated: Nani faced backlash for not cancelling HIT 3's success meet amid India-Pakistan tensions. His speech urging not to give Pakistan the "satisfaction" was also criticised online. Nani, who was recently seen in HIT 3, was slammed online for not cancelling the success meet of his film amid the rising tensions between India and Pakistan. Furthermore, his speech at the event – where he urged his followers not to give Pakistan the 'satisfaction" of cancelling a press meet – was slammed by a section of social media users. At a time when almost every possible release or events are being postponed, Nani choosing to host HIT 3 success meet was criticised by many social media users. Once on the stage, the actor explained as to why one he decided to go ahead with the event. Acknowleding the rising tension between the two nations, Nani said at the event in Hyderabad, 'Let us talk about what's happening in the country. Operation Sindoor and what followed next. I was speaking to the team today about whether it's okay to have a success event in a sensitive time like this. But I immediately felt that the situation was sensitive because those people (terrorists) tried to create a problem for us. Our Indian Army responded to them with focus, in a dignified manner." His later part of the speech didn't sit well with select netizens. He said, 'Let's not give them the satisfaction of even feeling that a success meet in some part of India was cancelled due to what they did. We have the responsibility of making a statement and showing them they weren't able to touch us. Let's salute the Indian Armed Forces and respect everyone fighting on the front lines. We are able to leave our homes and function normally only because of them." As the video went viral, Reddit users shared their varied thoughts. 'This is what happens when lot of people think these people are gods. They start believing it themselves," wrote a user, slamming Nani. Another added, 'Indeed it could have been avoided atleast by 1 week. Such a L move by Nani." A social media offered fair explanation into the matter: 'I'll play the devil's advocate here: If we stop our activities that should be ongoing normally, it would be like Pak had made an impact disrupting our natural flow of things. I've seen Paks on twitter celebrating that they stopped IPL from happening. Ofcourse no one gives two shits about Hit 3 in pak that's why Nani's statement feels ridiculous. But I get the base sentiment he's trying to say." 'Why t* should people stop doing their work because of a terrorist country? what even is this argument?," a Nani fan chipped in. Nani has yet to react to the controversy over his speech. First Published:
