Highway 4 reopened following fatal Friday crash
Huron OPP are investigating a fatal crash on Highway 4 north of Exeter on June 20, 2025. (Sean Irvine/CTV News London) One person has died and a second was airlifted to hospital after a two-vehicle crash north of Exeter. According to OPP, the incident between a car and an SUV happened on Highway 4 at Hurondale Road happened just before 6 a.m. on Friday. Huron OPP Const. Craig Soldan told CTV News police efforts were hindered by a passerby who tampered with the scene. 'There was an individual that arrived shortly after the collision and starting removing debris away from the collision and we want to make sure people do not do that. That is important information for us, when we need to rebuild the collision and figure out what happened,' said Soldan. Highway 4 was closed in both directions in the area of Hurondale Road but has since reopened. 2 killed in fiery overnight crash on Highway 4 near Brentwood
A portion of state Highway 4 in Brentwood is fully accessible again hours after a fatal collision ignited a dangerous battery fire on the freeway, the California Highway Patrol said early Thursday morning. All lanes of Highway 4 east of Balfour Road are fully open again, the CHP said on social media around 5:30 a.m. At 10:18 p.m. Wednesday, patrol officers went to the freeway's lanes near Fairview Avenue and found two vehicles that appeared to have hit head-on in the eastbound lane, said Officer Daniel Gilmore, a CHP spokesperson. Both drivers were killed. One of the vehicles, an electric SUV, was on fire, and due to the dangers of the vehicle's battery, officers and other first responders were unable to approach it, Gilmore said. The cause of the collision is yet unconfirmed.

Sask. highway closed following serious crash
Travelers on Highway 4 should expect delays as the RCMP investigates a serious crash. According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, the crash occurred near Mosquito, Grizzly Bear's Head, Lean Man First Nation, and Red Pheasant Cree Nation. As of 9:55 a.m. Thursday, officers were on the scene, and the highway was closed. Police say the highway will remain closed for an undetermined amount of time. Detours are in place and motorists are advised to slow down and follow emergency personnel's instructions. RCMP didn't provide further information, however, drivers are asked to check the Highway Hotline for the latest road closure updates.
