Nothing's first over-ear headphones leak ahead of July unveiling

Nothing has probably made its biggest impression in the tech world with its distinctive mid-range Android phones (like the 3a Pro pictured above). But the UK-based brand's first product was actually wireless earbuds, and now it's preparing to unveil its first over-ear headphones on July 1. As is often the way, though, we don't have to wait until then to get our first look at the upcoming cans, as pictures have leaked online ahead of the London launch event. As you'd expect from a Nothing product, the Headphone 1 – if these leaked images are indeed legitimate – looks like nothing else on the market. A number of photos uploaded to Instagram by Nothing Fan Blog show off a typical transparent design, which looks a bit like someone has glued a cassette tape to a slab of smooth metal. It looks like the headphones will be available in black/gray and silver/white colorways. To view this content, you'll need to update your privacy settings. Please click here and view the "Content and social-media partners" setting to do so. It's hard to determine what materials Nothing has opted for from the leaked photos, but it looks like there are at least three buttons: two on the side of the left earcup and one on the top. In one photo you can also see a wire attached to the bottom of the headphones, so presumably they'll have a 3.5mm connector. Again, we don't know for certain if this is the final design of the Headphone 1, but aesthetically speaking they could definitely stand out in what is an enormously crowded market. Nothing CEO Carl Pei confirmed that the Headphone 1 will arrive on July 1 alongside the brand's new flagship phone, the Phone 3, during a live appearance at SXSW in London earlier this month. Engadget's Igor Bonifac was impressed by Nothing's Phone 3a and 3a Pro when he reviewed both phones earlier this year, with the caveat that they carry a limited US warranty.

Nothing Headphone 1 to launch in India on July 1, its sound will be tuned by premium audio company KEF

On July 1, Nothing is launching its Phone 3 in India. Now the company has confirmed that it will also be launching the Headphone 1, its first full-size headphones, in India on the same day. While it was earlier revealed that the Headphone 1 will be launched at Nothing's global event on July 1, on Friday, the company confirmed that the product is also coming to India on the same day. advertisementThe Nothing Phone 3 will also be coming to India on July 1. The confirmation about the headphones came from Akis Evangelidis, the co-founder of Nothing and its current India head. Akis tweeted on Friday, 'Headphone (1) will be launched in India at the same time as global.'Akis tweeted on the same day when multiple leaks confirmed the design of the Headphone 1. For its first big headphones, the company is going to follow a similar retro-futuristic design, complete with transparent back and industrial look, which it has so far followed with its phones. As for the earpads, it seems Nothing is going with a squarish shape instead of round, similar to some of the Bowers & Wilkins that we have seen earlier. The design also hints that the Headphone 1 is going to be a premium set of cans, with the headband using some metal and lots of padding. Along with the design, which has now come to light, we already know that the Headphone 1 will have its sound tuned by KEF. Now, KEF is a brand solely focussed on extremely high-end audio products. While its specialisation is in speakers, the brand also sells a headphone — KEF MU 7 — that is priced around $400. So, it is expected that the Headphone 1 may offer the kind of sound that punches above its weight and price point. advertisementAlthough more details about the Nothing Headphone 1 will become clear in the coming days, or on July 1, there is an indication that with its headphones, the company is taking an aim at the likes of Sony and Bose, which sell highly-regarded full-size wireless headphones. And, just like it does in the phone market, Nothing may possibly try to undercut the audio giants in pricing with the Headphone 1. This means it may come in around Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000. Along with the Headphone 1, Nothing is also launching the Phone 3 on July 1. The phone, which Nothing is calling its 'true flagship', is going to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. Compared to the Phone 2, it is also expected to feature a revamped camera system as well as other key improvements in areas like screen and sound system. It is expected that the Nothing Phone 3 may get a price of around Rs 60,000 in India.

Nothing Headphone (1) leaks in set of live images

The Nothing Ear (1) was the brand's first ever product, and Nothing is going back to its roots with its first attempt at over-the-ear headphones. Nothing Headphone (1) ear cup design You'd be hard pressed to mistake the Headphone (1) for any other brand's headphones. They feature the signature transparent design elements on the outside of the ear cups and Nothing branding. We can see that Headphones (1) will be available in black and white colors. Nothing Headphone (1) in white and black The earcups feature a two-part design with the base appearing to be made from metal while the top half is made from plastic and looks like a cassette tape. We can also spot three buttons - two on the side and one on the outside of the ear cup. While these are wireless headphones, one of the images shows them connected with a 3.5mm audio jack so that will also be an option. Nothing Headphone (1) will support wired connections The close-up shots of the headband show no folding hinges. Nothing already confirmed that Headphone (1) were co-developed with British audio brand KEF. They are rumored to cost $309/ €299/£299. Source

Nothing Phone 3 will introduce the Glyph Matrix

Nothing on Thursday (June 19, 2025) shared on X that Phone 3 will have Glyph Matrix at the back. It replaces the Glyph interface that used to feature on previous generation phones. Nothing Phone 3 will be launched on July 1 along with Headphone 1. 'When light becomes the Glyph Matrix,' tweeted Nothing. Earlier, Nothing announced that they had 'killed the glyph interface.' It was then speculated that Phone 3 will not have it but instead feature a dot matrix design. We still do not know what purpose the new Glyph Matrix will serve. It could be similar to the glyph interface which used to notify about calls, messages, rides or order status, but in a matrix. Nothing confirms to use Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 in Phone 3

Nothing on Tuesday (June 17, 2025) confirmed that Phone 3 will run on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. The Phone 3 will be launched on July 1 along with Nothing's first product in the over-ear headphone category Headphone 1. Nothing claims that Phone 3 is going to be their first true flagship smartphone. Carl Pei, Nothing's CEO said, 'We really have to outperform our previous flagship, so compared to Phone (2) it's going to be 36% faster on CPU, 88% stronger on GPU, and 60% stronger on the NPU. But what it means in practice, it will feel a lot snappier.' 'We wanted to create a balanced experience. This time everything else also got much better, so we needed an even stronger chip to drive it. People will use these products for many hours a day, so for us it's about creating a holistic experience,' he added. (For top technology news of the day, subscribe to our tech newsletter Today's Cache) The London-based technology company had previously announced that Phone 3 will be made in India at its partner's facility in Chennai. Phone 3 is likely to ship without Nothing's trademark glyph interface at the back. It may use a 6.7 inch AMOLED display with a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and a possible peak brightness of 3,000 nits. A 5,500 mAh battery is also expected in Phone 3, but probably without charger. Phone 3 might use triple rear camera set up and a single front camera. Phone 3 price is expected to be anywhere above 50K in India.
