'Scottish rugby needs Smith to stay at Glasgow'
Former Glasgow Warriors captain Fraser Brown says it is crucial Franco Smith remains at Scotstoun, not only for the club but Scottish rugby as a contract as Glasgow head coach runs until the summer of 2026, but he has been linked with a move, most notably with the vacant Wales asked by BBC Scotland in the wake of Saturday's URC semi-final defeat to Leinster if he would still be at Warriors next season, Smith offered no guarantees and said he would "go and reflect a little bit"."Franco's done such a fantastic job since he came in just three years ago," former Scotland hooker Brown told BBC Scotland."Obviously winning the league last year, but reaching a European (Challenge Cup) final as well the year before in his first year."He's done an amazing job, so I think it'll be important for the club to keep him around, but also for Scottish rugby."I think it's important to have some sort of stability with Sean Everett, I think his contract runs to the end of next season with Edinburgh. Franco's contract runs to the end of next season with Glasgow. "Gregor Townsend's contract runs to the end of 2026 with Scotland. So there are a lot of moving parts in the next 18 months within Scottish rugby."I think having Franco there next year, having some sort of stability, allowing them to plan long term, is really important for the union."

Former Carlton star Fraser Brown seals nine-figure deal
A company headed by ex-Blues Premiership player Fraser Brown has splashed a whopping nine-figure sum on a development site in Melbourne's south east. It is believed that Brown Property Group's purchase of the 68.77ha Clyde North land has set a new record for Victorian residential development sites, with industry sources putting the sales price at circa $250m. More than 1290 homes could be built at the 200 Tuckers Rd address in the future, subject to planning approval from the City of Casey. The property was sold by a family who have farmed the area for six generations. Commercial real estate agency LAWD senior director Peter Sagar, who had the listing alongside colleague Paul Callanan, said they received more than 20 offers for the site – totalling an overall $4bn in capital. Most interested parties were big-name developers including multiple Australian-based Chinese developers. Mr Sagar declined to comment on the sales price but said Perth- and Queensland-based developers had flown in to inspect the land parcel and meet the owners. The final sales deal equated to about $4.2m per hectare for the site's 60ha net developable area. 'I can't think of a single residential development side that's sold for that amount for a long time, in Victoria,' Mr Sagar said. Brown Property Group purchased the Cranbourne Golf Club, 12km from the Tuckers Rd site, for a reported $190m 12 months ago. The company's director Fraser Brown played in Carlton's 1995 grand final side and won the club's Best and Fairest award three years later. He retired from football in 2000. The Tuckers Rd property is located within the Clyde Creek precinct structure plan, a document outlining Victorian government-approved future development for the wider area. Mr Sagar is also managing the sales campaign for a 36.39ha block in Diggers Rest that is expected to sell for $90m-$100m, according to industry insiders.

Atomfall hits 2 million players and 500K cups of tea drunk
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Survival-action shooter Atomfall has lured more than two million players into its post-nuclear-disaster Britain, and they've apparently drunk 500,000 cups of tea while there. Which is not enough. Those are rookie numbers in the British tea drinking game. We need those numbers up to like three per person just to make average. That's 6,000,000 cups of tea, people, get on it. Developer Rebellion shared the latest Atomfall stats from its first two weeks after release, and I was happy to find that 60% of players helped a poor wounded scientist, and deeply disappointed not just with tea consumption, but with how the delicious pasty somehow came in third on the list of foods consumed. What is wrong with you people? You're eating tinned meat when the pasty is right there. The nice part is that the cricket bat kill total is over 5.9 million, so we're right where we should be there. No, I do not have a statistic to base this one (unlike the tea one) but it just feels right. Drink a cuppa, kill a man with a wooden bat. Simple as. The new stats are a follow-up to a previous announcement from Rebellion that Atomfall had broken 1.5 million players. That made it the most successful game launch in Rebellion's 32 year history, which is pretty dang good for the veteran Zombie Army and Sniper Elite studio. Atomfall got a 62% in the PC Gamer review, with reviewer Fraser Brown noting how it "flirts with Fallout, Stalker, RPGs, survival games, and all sorts of different systems, and it pulls you in lots of different directions." "I've spent years wandering many an inhospitable wasteland, so Atomfall's pleasant post-apocalypse is pretty inviting. They've got tea here. And bakeries," he said. "It'd be a nice place for a ramble, if it weren't for the fire-spewing robots, lethal flora, bandits, cultists and conspiracies." You can find out more about Atomfall, like where you can buy it, at its official site.
