Katie Nolan reiterates her staunch defense of Pablo Torre in Bill Simmons spat: ‘Bro, come on'

Katie Nolan made it clear that she will always be on Pablo Torre's side in a beef with Bill Simmons over the former ESPN reporter's coverage on Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson. Nolan elaborated on her decision during an episode of 'Pablo Torre Finds Out' on Thursday, where she called out Simmons for his comments about Torre's coverage of the couple. 'I picked you, it wasn't like … there was no hesitation. [Simmons] didn't even listen to the episode!' Nolan said. 'I listened to it back and I was like 'Bro, come on.' … [Pablo] was out there in LA, so he did Simmons' podcast, refuting Simmons saying that it was whatever, s–tty reporting or whatever. And Simmons was like 'What I'd like to talk about instead is…'' 'It was skillful move by Bill,' Torre interjected. Advertisement 'No, it was not! Immediately, you could see right through it. 'So no then, Bill?' ' Nolan replied The beef between the two started in May when The Ringer founder said Torre was 'pretending to be a journalist' for his reporting on Belichick and Hudson, tying in fictional character Leo Farnsworth from the 1978 film 'Heaven Can Wait' in the process. 3 Bill Simmons attends HBO's 'Momentum Generation' premiere held at The Broad Stage on Nov. 5, 2018 in Santa Monica, Calif. 'Oh, let me do nine shows about it,'' Simmons added while mocking Torre. 'Settle the f–k down … You don't need to do a media tour about a f–king podcast.' 3 Pablo Torre attends The 85th Annual Peabody Awards at Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel on June 1, 2025 in Beverly Hills, Calif. Advertisement 'Dear @BillSimmons: Since you have such a strong public opinion about my work… I happen to have a few questions for you, specifically,' Torre posted on X on June 2. 'Unless you're afraid of @pablofindsout and someone just 'pretending to be a journalist,' of course. Thanks, Pablo.' The two eventually discussed the situation on 'The Bill Simmons Podcast' earlier this month, with Torre defending his work against pushback.

Thunder once thought about hiring ESPN's Brian Windhorst

Brian Windhorst has built his career by reporting on the inner-workings of NBA front offices, and it turns out he almost joined one himself. In Thursday's episode of 'Pablo Torre Finds Out,' Torre reported that Thunder general manager Sam Presti once explored hiring Windhorst away from ESPN to be an 'information guy' for Oklahoma City. 'A little over a decade ago, [Presti] actually explored hiring our extremely plugged-in buddy Brian Windhorst away from ESPN to work as an information guy for the Thunder,' Torre said. Torre noted that the reason the longtime general manager pursued Windhorst was because 'information, to Sam Presti, is currency.' 'It is an edge,' Torre added. 'A competitive advantage, and you don't surrender that information.' Windhorst stayed put at ESPN, but he wouldn't have been the first NBA reporter or media personality to take a role within an organization. John Hollinger joined the Grizzlies' front office after working at ESPN, and then moved back into the media realm as a writer for The Athletic. Longtime Sports Illustrated profile writer Lee Jenkins took a job as the Clippers' Executive Director of Research and Identity, and now works with the team as Vice President of Basketball Affairs. 3 ESPN's Brian Windhorst before Game 1 of the 2025 NBA Finals. Windhorst, though, has remained firmly on the media side of things, and is now ironically reporting on the Thunder in the 2025 NBA Finals. 3 Pablo Torre during Thursday's episode of 'Pablo Torre Finds Out.' @pablofindsout/X The Akron, Ohio native kickstarted his career by covering LeBron James in high school, with the two both attending St. Vincent-St. Mary in Akron, though Windhorst graduated seven years before James. He moved on to become the Cavs beat writer at the Akron Beacon Journal and Cleveland Plain Dealer before joining ESPN in 2010, after LeBron took his talents to South Beach and joined the Heat. 3 Thunder GM Sam Presti during the 2025 NBA Draft Lottery. It turns out Presti made a jazz-rap album called 'Milk Money,' which had been wiped off the internet, before becoming an uber-successful basketball executive. A man of many talents, clearly.

Podcaster not ruling out legal action against UNC over Bill Belichick public records request

Pablo Torre has been busy digging into to the relationship between Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson, reporting on his podcast 'Pablo Torre Finds Out' that Belichick's family has expressed 'deep worry' about the damage Hudson is doing the 73-year-old's legacy. The podcaster also reported Hudson was banned from UNC's football facility — a claim the school has since refuted. Torre has stood by his reporting, and won't rule out taking legal action if UNC doesn't respond to his multiple public records requests he's sent to the university by Friday. 'These are public records requests,' he said during an appearance on 'PFT PM.' 'I don't know why this should be vague or ambiguous. It's not like, 'Show me your e-mails,' as if there is no expectation of it. It's, 'You get as part of the pact between a public university and the federal government, you get things in exchange for what feels like a reasonable level of transparency.' 'So we can tell what is this public money going towards? It's standard operating procedure, and if we don't — if we feel like they are not obliging their legal obligations, we will certainly pursue avenues to make it so.' Because UNC isn't a private university, Belichick's e-mails are open to those kinds of public records requests. The Athletic recently obtained e-mails Belichick sent asking for Hudson to be copied. The legendary coach chalked it up to the university not having a 'sports information guy.' 'Because all e-mails are shared publicly, that was taken as Jordon's running the sports information department,' Belichick said during a recent appearance on 'The Pivot' podcast. 'And that also led to a narrative, which is just totally — she's not doing it. There was nobody to help me sort it out, so I was asking her to do it.' Torre didn't specify what specifically he was after in regards to the requests, and it's unclear whether the university will comply with the request or if legal action indeed will be taken. Jordon Hudson sparks Bill Belichick engagement buzz with ring sighting

Well, this certainly isn't going to slow down the engagement speculation. Bill Belichick's 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, was seen Saturday at Raleigh-Durham International Airport in North Carolina wearing what appeared to be a ring on her left ring finger, according to photos snapped by TMZ. The sighting comes less than a week after The New York Times reported that the former college cheerleader 'has told at least one person that she and Mr. Belichick are engaged to be married.' 5 Jordon Hudson fueled Bill Belichick engagement buzz after being photographed wearing a ring on her left ring finger in May 2025. Getty Images 5 The couple's romance was first revealed in 2024. jordon_isabella/Instagram TMZ cautioned, however, 'It's hard to make out if this is a big diamond engagement ring or not.' Hudson, whose romance with Belichick, 73, was revealed last summer, has been spending ample time in North Carolina as the NFL legend prepares for his first season as head football coach of the Tar Heels. Belichick, an eight-time Super Bowl winner, has fueled engagement buzz himself after his boat received an update from 'VIII Rings' to 'I +VIII Rings,' photos showed last week. 5 Jordon Hudson has been spending time in North Carolina, where Bill Belichick is preparing for his first season as coach of the Tar Heels. Getty Images The couple's romance has been highly scrutinized recently, as Hudson stopped a question about how they met during Belichick's much-maligned 'CBS Sunday Morning' interview in late April. When asked about the early days of their romance, Hudson told interviewer Tony Dokoupil, 'We're not talking about this.' The fallout was swift, with former ESPN personality Pablo Torre launching a series of allegations against Hudson, claiming there's a 'deep worry' from Belichick's family over her impact on his legacy. 5 Bill Belichick recently supported Jordon Hudson during the Miss Maine USA competition. Toby Canham for NY Post 'There is deep worry for how detrimental Jordon can be for not just North Carolina but Bill's legacy, reputation — everything he has built and worked for over decades,' one family source told Torre on an early May installment of his 'Pablo Torre Finds Out' program. Last week, Torre dove into viral Ring camera footage of Belichick that originally circulated in 2023 and claimed it was from a stay at an Airbnb with Hudson. In 2024, when Belichick's relationship with Hudson was revealed, reports swirled that he had been exiting a residence owned by her. 'We saw the Ring video in the morning, not knowing who this was, but it was an older gentleman with a very young woman who checked in the night before,' the female owner told Torre on a recent installment of 'Pablo Torre Finds Out.' 5 Bill Belichick's romance with Jordon Hudson has been under a microscope in recent weeks. Getty Images for the American Museum of Natural History Hudson fired back at Torre in a since-deleted message last Friday when she shared what appeared to be a purported text exchange with the Airbnb owner. 'Pablo Torre's 'findings' have been nothing short of factually incorrect, slanderous, defamatory and targeted,' she wrote, as captured by TMZ. 'Can y'all please stop giving credibility to this 'reporter'?' Torre responded to Hudson's post Sunday on X and said he stands by the reporting. 'I find it bizarrely appropriate, at this point, that Jordon Hudson would post this and then very quickly delete it. But to be perfectly clear: I stand by our reporting and the episodes we published,' he wrote. Prior to his romance with Hudson, Belichick was in a long-term relationship with Linda Holliday, with news of the breakup emerging in 2023. TMZ revealed last week Hudson was confronted by Holliday at a Nantucket holiday party last December.

'Brittany Mahomes level of annoyance': Bill Belichick's girlfriend Jordon Hudson under fire online as Brittany Mahomes comparison sparks backlash

Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Outkick host draws harsh parallels between Jordon Hudson and Brittany Mahomes' wife amid growing controversy Bill Belichick's 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, is once again facing social media criticism—this time with Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes' wife, Brittany Mahomes, caught in the crossfire. Amid rumors and drama surrounding Hudson's increasing presence around the University of North Carolina (UNC) football facilities, Outkick host Mike Gunzelman stoked controversy by likening Hudson's public behavior to that of Brittany Mahomes—long a target of NFL fan outrage. "Bill Belichick's girlfriend Jordon is reaching Brittany Mahomes level of annoyance and distraction," tweeted Gunzelman, sparking debate online. The comment was made in response to allegations that UNC had banned Hudson from accessing the school's football facilities. The University, however, clarified in a statement that while Hudson is not affiliated with the football program, she is not banned and remains permitted on the premises. Belichick family insiders express concern over Hudson's influence Adding fuel to the fire, an episode of Pablo Torre Finds Out quoted a Belichick family insider who expressed deep concerns about Hudson's impact on the NFL icon's public image, 'There is deep worry for how detrimental Jordon can be for not just North Carolina but Bill's legacy, reputation — everything he has built and worked for over decades.' Gunzelman followed up by tweeting, 'She's Brittany Mahomes x 100 or the owner from the Major League movies—way too much to handle and as soon as she walks by you know officials are just ripping her.' Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Though unrelated to the Belichick saga, Brittany Mahomes has been routinely scrutinized for her outspoken nature. From controversial social media activity to accusations of rude behavior at stadiums, her past has made her an easy target. As the internet circles the Hudson drama, the echo of Brittany's name reveals how quick fans and media figures are to lump outspoken NFL partners into the same category. Also Read: Despite their very different roles and relationships within the NFL ecosystem, Hudson and Mahomes find themselves used as public yardsticks for what some fans deem "too much." With the spotlight intensifying on Hudson and her influence around Belichick, the conversation has become as much about gendered scrutiny and media narratives as it is about football.
