Cyclist transported to Nashville hospital via helicopter after crash in Clarksville
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — All northbound lanes of one Clarksville roadway reopened after a brief closure while police continue to investigate a crash involving a cyclist. At about 3:53 p.m. Tuesday, a truck collided with a bicyclist on the Highway 76 Connector near New South Drive. Police said that the bicyclist has been transported to a Nashville-area hospital via LifeFlight helicopter and their condition is not known at this time. READ MORE | Latest headlines from Clarksville and Montgomery County All northbound lanes of the Highway 76 Connector — Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway — were temporarily shut down between Fire Station Road and New South Drive. Drivers were advised to seek alternate routes, but the roadway has since reopened. Clarksville police said the Fatal Accident Crash Team is headed to the site to conduct an investigation. No further details were immediately released. Murfreesboro police investigate fatal crash with motorcyclist at N. Rutherford Blvd., Greenland
Murfreesboro police continue to investigate a fatal motorcycle crash Thursday night, according to a press release. Officers responded at approximately 10:30 p.m. to the collision involving a motorcycle and a 2016 Ford Fusion at North Rutherford Boulevard and Greenland Avenue, the press release from Murfreesboro police spokesman Larry Flowers said. "The motorcyclist was pronounced dead by personnel with Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services," the press release said. "The driver of the car was not hurt." 2024 homicide of motorcyclist: Murfreesboro police identify victim killed in road rage shooting, charge suspect The preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a 2016 Ford Fusion was traveling southbound on North Rutherford Boulevard in the left turn lane, according to the press release. "That driver attempted to make a left turn on a solid green light, failing to yield the right of way, colliding with the bike," the press release said. "The rider of a 2024 Kawasaki EX5 was traveling northbound on North Rutherford Boulevard." The motorcyclist's identity will be released once out-of-town relatives are notified, the press release noted. This is a developing story.
