Eric Dane says 'Euphoria' made him feel like an artist for the first time in his career
In a candid new interview, actor Eric Dane opened up about his evolving identity as an actor, revealing that working on HBO's Euphoria was the first time he truly felt like an artist. Dane, who plays the complex character Cal Jacobs, credited showrunner Sam Levinson and the series' extended production style with unlocking new creative depth. 'I never considered myself an artist until I started making Euphoria,' Dane said. 'That's when I gave myself the allowance to feel like I was an artist.' Dane noted the stark contrast between Euphoria's meticulous 20- to 30-day shoot schedules and the fast-paced 8-day episodes typical of network dramas like Grey's Anatomy, where he rose to fame as 'McSteamy.' Euphoria's Sydney Sweeney Reveals Season 3 Is Even More Unhinged
Emmy-nominated star Sydney Sweeney opened up about what fans can expect from her return as Cassie in the highly anticipated Season 3. Production on the latest installment of the hit HBO drama is still underway. During a recent interview, Sweeney promised that Euphoria Season 3 will be crazier than previous installments, teasing another chaotic season for her character. In the Season 2 finale, Cassie was dumped by Jacob Elordi's Nate, after her sister Lexi made them characters in her play. 'I have such a spot in my heart for Cassie, and I hold her really close and dear. She is crazy. She makes so many mistakes,' Sweeney shared. 'She's flawed on so many levels, but she does it all from a place of love. It could be a sad version of love, as well. It's so much fun to play a character that is as crazy as she is. Sam [Levinson] is such a brilliant filmmaker to work with, because I'll read something, then I'll call him, and I'm like, 'Let's go crazier.' And he's like, 'I'm all in.' And this season is unhinged.' Euphoria is created and written by Levinson, who is also executive producing with Zendaya and Drake. It is based on an Israeli miniseries of the same name. The series follows a group of high school students as they struggle to move through the worlds of drugs, sex, identity, trauma, social media, love, and friendship. Season 3 will feature the return of Zendaya as Rue, Hunter Schafer as Jules, Jacob Elordi as Nate, Alexa Demie as Maddy, Maude Apatow as Lexi, Dominic Fike as Elliot, Eric Dane as Cal, Colman Domingo as Ali, Martha Kelly as Laurie, and Chloe Cherry as Faye. The next installment is expected to open with a major time jump, which brings the main characters out of the show's original high school setting. The coming-of-age drama is slated to make its return sometime in 2026. Season 3 will also include new cast members Sharon Stone, Rosalia, Marshawn Lynch, Kadeem Hardison, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Toby Wallace, Priscilla Delgado, James Landry Hébert, and Anna Van Patten. After some long delays, Euphoria Season 3 is finally moving forward and is expected to have a release date soon, too. The production team significantly delayed the series' filming. Its primary actors had blown up in Hollywood and became involved in major releases across the industry. But the creators are bringing most of them back for one long-awaited, and hopefully satisfying, conclusion to the tale. Euphoria season 3 will premiere sometime in 2026. The second season of the show premiered back in 2022, four years before the third and possibly final one. The third season was announced back in February 2022. However, it did not make it to the screens in the years that followed. Most estimates suggest that Euphoria Season 3 will premiere in early 2026. A release date should be announced soon. Out of the main cast of Euphoria, the four primary actors are set to return. All four have become major stars in Hollywood in recent years. Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, and Coleman Domingo are all reprising their roles. This marks perhaps the biggest star-studded cast on any TV show. Apart from them, Asante Blackk, Rosalía, Martha Kelly, Dominic Fike, Maude Apatow, Eric Dane, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, Chloe Cherry, Marshawn Lynch, Kadeem Hardison, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Toby Wallace, Darrell Britt-Gibson, Priscilla Delgado, James Landry Hébert, and Sharon Stone have all been confirmed for the third season. Among the previous season's regulars, Barbie Ferreira will not be returning for the upcoming season. The creators of Euphoria have planned a time jump for the third season, which means they will no longer set it in a high school. The second season left behind plenty of unresolved questions, though it remains unclear if the upcoming season will address them. Sam Levinson described the third season as a 'film noir,' which will explore the cost of being a moral individual in a corrupt world. Stars like Zendaya have also teased that the third season will be big and different from the ones before. The exact plot details, however, remain under wraps. It's weird in the best way, and I love that we created something that's not just unforgettable, it actually smells incredible and delivers like every other Dr. Squatch product I love. Hopefully, this helps guys wake up to the realities of conventional personal care products and pushes them towards natural. For those curious about the bath water and where it was sourced from, CinemaBlend learned it apparently came from this viral ad Sydney Sweeney participated in back in 2024. Check out the ad below, which I suppose began the long process of transforming those suds into a soap product readers will soon be able to own: Yes, this is real, and it'll be arriving sooner than Euphoria Season 3. The soap, which is infused with douglas fir, exfoliating sand, pine bark extract, and other things that didn't come in contact with Sydney Sweeney, will be limited to 5000 bars. 'My Butt Got Huge.' Sydney Sweeney Had Major Gains To Play '90s Fighter Christy Martin, And It Sounds Like She Loved It

While Sydney Sweeney has taken over recent headlines (and presumably NSFW daydream scenarios) in connection with selling her bathwater in a soap, I'm personally more invested in seeing the actress mop the floor with opposing boxers in the upcoming 2025 movie about boxing icon Christy Martin. It's arguably the most athletic role yet for the busy actress, and she opened up about the big gains she experienced between first signing on for the role in early 2024 through to production wrapping in November. Speaking with W about the huge moves her career has taken in the three years since her HBO breakout series last aired — Euphoria Season 3 is on the way, but not until 2026 — Sweeney talked about going into a specific training mode in the timeframe before filming started, and how much she enjoyed that tempo change. In her words: I loved it. I came onboard to play Christy, and I had about three and a half months of training. I started eating. I weight-trained in the morning for an hour, kickboxed midday for about two hours, and then weight-trained again at night for an hour. I think most fans would agree that Sydney Sweeney's body frame in projects like The White Lotus and Immaculate isn't the most intimidating, at least not in a way that trained fighters would fear. But it sounds like she enjoyed bulking up during the training process, during which she gained around 30 pounds, even if it made her more buxom and booty-ful along the way. As she put it: My body was completely different. I didn't fit in any of my clothes. I'm usually a size 23 in jeans, and I was wearing a size 27. My boobs got bigger. And my butt got huge. It was crazy! I was like, Oh my god. But it was amazing: I was so strong, like crazy strong. No trailers have been released yet for the boxing biopic, which still doesn't have an official name locked in, and all we've seen is the first look showing off Sweeney's big arms. So it's unknown exactly when audiences will first get to see her going toe to toe with other boxers on Martin's awe-inspiring journey to becoming the most prolific and prominent female boxer to date, as well as the first of that distinction honored in the Boxing Hall of Fame. Just don't pay too much attention to Sweeney's boobs or butt in the trailer, or she'll put you down for the count. Director David Michôd, perhaps best known for 2010's Animal Kingdom and 2014's The Rover, talked about Christy Martin's impressive career and spoke highly of Sydney Sweeney's unending positivity throughout the production, despite any and all challenges that were presented. As he put it: Martin put female boxing on the map in the mid-'90s. She was the first woman fighter on the cover of Sports Illustrated and fought on the Mike Tyson undercard. Her husband was also her trainer, and then, after her success, he tried to murder her. Our film is a wild mix of inspiring underdog sports-world story and personal saga. Sydney trained her butt off to play the part. The beauty of Sydney is that she turned up to work every day with her tail wagging, ready to go. No matter how tough it was, she was like a ray of sunshine. As impressive as it is that Sweeney made all those gains to play Christy Martin, it's just as impressive that she necessarily shed the extra weight in the seven weeks between the biopic's end date and the start of her next project. I'd have to chop off an entire limb, I think. David Michôd said he was shocked to speak with Sweeney via FaceTime in the more recent past, saying she was in the makeup truck for Euphoria and was "stunned" that she'd gone from her Martin look to something "so glamorous" for the HBO series. Fans won't be missing Sydney Sweeney on the big or small screen for long in the future. She has Apple TV+'s dramatic thriller Echo Valley coming out on June 13, while Paul Feig's adaptation of The Housemaid is set for a Christmas Day release. Beyond that, there's the aforementioned third season of HBO's Euphoria, Sweeney's planned portrayal of Kim Novak in Scandalous!, her Barbarella movie, the upcoming video game adaptation for Split Fiction and even more.
