Dua Lipa has found her match in actor Callum Turner. The couple is engaged, British Vogue reports. Lipa sparked engagement rumors during Christmas when she posted Instagram photos of herself with a ring on her left ring finger. The couple was first romantically linked in January 2024. At the Sundance Film Festival in January 2025, Turner spoke about his hope to be with Lipa for the long haul. A journalist asked Turner whom he would spend an eternity with (because he has an upcoming film called Eternity). He replied with a laugh, 'my girlfriend,' per Us Weekly. Lipa and Turner have not hidden their relationship, as Lipa has shared photos of Turner on Instagram regularly. They have, however, chosen not to discuss the details of their love life in interviews. In March 2024, a source spoke to Us Weekly about their relationship, sharing rare details about Lipa and Turner's bond. The source noted how special their connection has been, saying, 'Callum is really the first serious relationship she's had in the past few years.' The insider added, 'Dua and Callum spend almost all their time together and are nearly inseparable.' At that point, they had 'met each other's families. They're very serious about one another.' Turner has treated Lipa with 'nothing but respect, and he always makes her feel safe when she's in his presence,' the source said, adding that while she is still a 'very independent' person, 'she's happy to let him take the lead [when they're together]. They have a very balanced energy, and Dua couldn't be happier than she is with Callum.'

Pakistan-origin Mahnoor Qazi wins James Baldwin award for fiction
ISLAMABAD: Mahnoor Qazi, a Pakistani-origin high school student in the US state of California, has won the inaugural James Baldwin Award for Fiction, the organizers announced this week. The James Baldwin Award for Fiction is one of six creative writing awards given by Penguin Random House, touted as the world's largest trade book publisher, as part of their signature Creative Writing Awards (CWA) program. The award is named after Baldwin, a novelist, essayist, playwright, poet and critic. Qazi, an aspiring writer who attends Golden Valley High School in California, is dedicated to connecting the art of literature with the deepest human emotions. Her entry 'Eternity' won the first-place prize of $10,000. 'As his niece, it has been an honor to select the recipient of the James Baldwin Award for fiction. Traveling the creative landscape of students with insightful narrative voices has been inspiring,' Baldwin's niece Darlene Burnett said. 'They continue to demonstrate that the power of words can inform minds, fuel the imagination, and construct narratives that compel us to read and to feel. They are the literary architects of the future.' Other categories included the Freedom of Expression Award, Michelle Obama Award for Memoir, the Amanda Gorman Award for Poetry, and the Maya Angelou Award for Spoken Word. Since 1993, the Penguin Random House CWA program has awarded more than $2.9 million to public high school students for their original compositions. In addition to scholarships, the publisher hosts a virtual development week for the CWA winners each summer that includes networking workshops, a panel about career opportunities in publishing, and fireside chats with Penguin Random House authors.

Hong Kong celebrities Nancy Wu, Joey Yung and Miriam Yeung are among the latest handful of stars who attended Lady Gaga concerts in Singapore, which concluded yesterday (May 24). Mother Monster, as Gaga is affectionately known to fans, performed four shows at the National Stadium on May 18, 19, 21 and 24. Other stars who were spotted during her earlier two performances included Gigi Leung, K-pop girl group Babymonster, Simon Yam and Elva Hsiao. The string of celeb sightings is perhaps no surprise, considering that Singapore was Gaga's only Asian stop in her Mayhem world tour. Actress-singer Nancy posted about the exhilarating performance today: "I'm so happy to have experienced your powerful vocals live, it was a very artistic concert! Amazing!" The 43-year-old also remarked, like other concert-goers had noted, that the experience was "a sweat-filled one" both on- and off-stage. [embed] Singer Joey evidently had a great time as well, with videos that she posted to her social media on May 24 showing her energetically grooving and bopping to Gaga's hit, Born This Way. Her hyperactivity though, might have been borne of a sleep-depraved mind. [embed] In her post, the 44-year-old indicated that she'd caught a red-eye flight straight after wrapping her own Eternity concerts in Macau to catch Gaga live. "Unfortunately the endorphins in my body wouldn't let me nap on the plane but it didn't dampen my mood at all," she wrote, praising Gaga's "absolutely breathtaking" performance. "She is truly one of a kind, and gave her all from start to finish," Joey added. What was a bummer, though, was losing her brand-new pair of sunglasses she'd purchased specially for the occasion. "I miss my beautiful red shades that I'd just bought for Lady Gaga," said Joey, who stated in an Instagram Story (IGS) that she last had the Gentle Monster shades at the airport. "Thank god my head is stuck to my body otherwise I may need to find it at 'lost and found'," she joked in another IGS. Besides Joey and Nancy, Xiaohongshu users also caught glimpses of other celebs such as Miriam and Taiwanese singer-actor Jiro Wang. Veteran actress-singer Miriam, 51, was captured by an excited fan seated one row behind who took multiple photos and videos of and with the star. Miriam Yeung 'harassed' by excited fan Miriam, who appeared to be accompanied by her husband Real Ting, was seated among the audience and not in the VIP box on May 21. While she remained polite and agreed to a selfie, the fan's over-zealous demeanour — she was captured by other concert-goers continuously pointing her camera at Miriam at close range — raised the ire of some netizens. Wrote one user: "Although she (Miriam) is a singer, she's also a concert-goer. She ended up being harassed, it's annoying to watch." The fan's post has reportedly been deleted. Besides these Hong Kong celebrities, former Fahrenheit band member Jiro Wang, 43, was also spotted in the crowd. Based on photos captured by fans, the Taiwanese singer-actor was believed to have attended the concert on Saturday. "He was surrounded by many people asking for a photo. The West Australian Pulse: Jodie Rankin expresses her journey of anxiety through artwork
Edvard Munch's work has inspired many artists, but it was some words from the master painter that really spoke to Jodie Rankin. The teenager interpreted the revered Munch's quote, 'From my rotting body, flowers shall grow, and I am in them, and that is eternity', through the lens of her anxiety disorder to create her intricately embroidered piece, Eternity, which is on show at The West Australian Pulse exhibit. 'It is my interpretation, not only of Munch's quote, but my portrayal of how my anxiety manifests and feels,' the 18-year-old said. 'In creating the piece, it was very soothing for my anxieties, and the chaoticness of it and all the different aspects of it reflect how anxiety has so many different aspects but there's good and bad parts of it, positives and negatives.' The free West Australian Pulse exhibit is at the Art Gallery of Western Australia.
