Heat, Hustle & High Stakes | Season 11 Round 12 Preview The FIA Girls on Track program is a recurring initiative at every E-Prix. As part of its mission to empower young women through education and opportunity, up to 120 girls from Jakarta (aged 12–18) can take part in workshops, gaming, and career talks, along with a Pit Lane walk and a special trophy presentation opportunity. The program emphasizes gender equity and education in a traditionally male-dominated industry and is supported by Hankook (Presenting Partner), ABB (Principal Partner), and Fortescue Zero (Official Partner). Live performances at Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit As part of this year's official theme, 'Electrifying the Future', Formula E is turning up the voltage with the announcement of three major headliners. Indonesian DJs Dipha Barus, Una, and Patricia Schuldtz will deliver exclusive live performances on the Formula E stage. DJ Patricia recently made an appearance to greet the public during Car Free Day on Sunday (June 8), alongside Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, and received a warm welcome. For younger Formula E fans, there are several adventure activities in the Kids' Area, thoughtfully designed to foster curiosity, encourage innovative thinking, and promote sustainability. A large food court also offers visitors a wide variety of local flavors to enjoy. Car racers Hana Burton and Maaya Orido join FIA Girls on Track program to inspire young girls to pursue motorsport
Image credit: Hanna Burton/Instagram Japanese-American racing driver and content creator Hana Burton, along with rally driver Maaya Orido, took part in the FIA Girls on Track program in Tokyo on the sidelines of the Tokyo E-Prix to do their bit in encouraging several young girls to take up motorsport as a career option. As part of the program, young girls between 12 and 18 had the chance to participate in workshops, gaming, career talks, and a Pit Lane walk under the FIA's initiative to promote empowerment and education in motorsport and engineering. 120 girls also had the opportunity to take an immersive E-Karting masterclass. Inside glimpse of Girls on Track program Sharing a few pictures from the Girls on Track program during the Tokyo E-Prix, Hana Burton wrote on Instagram, 'Can you guess what I'm explaining about the car in the first pic? LOVED being a part of the @ @fiaformulae Girls on Track event at @ again this year, also had the chance to speak at the event stage at the E-Prix about my career.' 'And thankfully it was sunny this year so the girls got to have a go with the EV karts! There were many great questions about being a part of the Motorsport world as a woman. It's lovely to see the progress involving us in the space and I'm grateful to now be in a position to offer advice to many brilliant young women!! Thanks you for having me and @maaya_orido_559!!' she added. Another Formula E driver, Maaya Orido, also shared happy pictures from the Girls on Track program in Tokyo. She wrote along with them in Japanese, 'I went to Girls on Track again this year. I rarely have the chance to talk and interact with women like this, so I had a lot of fun interacting with so many people this year. It was my first time riding a tandem kart, but it was so much fun. It was a great experience again this year! Thank you. Tokyo E-Prix 2025: Norman Nato tops First Free Practice, Taylor Barnard suffers a crash
Image credit: Norman Nato/Instagram The Tokyo E-Prix 2025 kick-started on Friday with the first free practice session, and the home crowd was delighted to see their favourite team, Nissan, leading the session. Nissan driver Norman Nato topped the practice session at the Tokyo Street Circuit , while teammate and reigning Formula E champion Oliver Rowland finished third. The youngest Formula E driver, Taylor Barnard, however, suffered a crash during the session. Tokyo E-Prix 2025 First Free Practice results The drivers were eager to test their cars on the Tokyo Street Circuit before the forecasted rain affects Round 8 and Round 9. Nato led FP1 with a time of 1m12.152s. Last season's winner, Maximilian Guenther of DS Penske, finished second, while Nissan's Oliver Rowland took third despite dealing with some torque balance issues. Guenther had driven for Maserati MSG Racing when he won the Tokyo E-Prix last year. TAG Heuer Porsche's Pascal Wehrlein followed in fourth, while Stoffel Vandoorne of Maserati MSG Racing ended fifth. Cupra Kiro's Dan Ticktum placed sixth, followed by Lola Yamaha ABT's Lucas Di Grassi in seventh. Taylor Barnard suffered a crash at Turn 17 that ended the session early for the 19-year-old Neom McLaren driver. Lola Yamaha ABT's Zane Maloney also came close to crashing at the same corner but managed to drive through the risky turn. Nissan had unveiled a new Tokyo special livery ahead of the E-Prix. The pink and white design, inspired by Nissan's retro video game "Nismo Electric Racer Tokyo," was well-received by fans on social media. The varying track surfaces tested drivers' skills throughout the session, as they prepare for Round 8 on Saturday and Round 9 on Sunday. There is a 100 percent chance of rain during the second free practice, qualifying, and the Round 8 race on Saturday, as well as during the third free practice and Round 9 qualifying on Sunday. Fortunately, there is very little chance of rain during the Round 9 race itself on Sunday. Taylor Barnard marks Monaco pole win on Instagram: 'It wasn't the weekend we were hoping for'

The youngest Formula E driver couldn't convert that success into a strong race result, but the 19-year-old still has plenty to be proud of. He has since shared a series of Instagram posts celebrating his pole win in Monaco, which comes on the back of three podium finishes this season. You learn from it and keep going.' An Instagram user even wrote, 'Always looking forward to seeing you in the top 10 and not losing trust—my best wishes to you, Taylor.' Another commented, 'You still drive mega in difficult circumstances. You will be back, Taylor—but still a good weekend with pole, just tricky conditions with the weather.' Many also encouraged him ahead of the upcoming Tokyo double-header. 'Bring on Tokyo, you got this,' read one comment. Recently, Barnard also shared pictures of his NEOM McLaren car on Instagram with the caption, 'Sightseeing in the Principality.' Given Barnard's current form, it wouldn't be surprising to see him clinch the first win of his Formula E career this season.

Nissan Formula E Team secures a win, a second place and a pole position across Monaco double-header
Nissan Formula E Team's Oliver Rowland enjoyed an excellent weekend on the streets of Monte-Carlo, taking the win during Round 6 of the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship on Saturday, and earning pole position and a second place finish during today's E-Prix. For the opening event yesterday, Rowland lined up on the front row in P2 after making the final of the duels. The Brit made his way into the race lead before halfway, completing his Pit Boost stop on Lap 18. He emerged in a net-third place showing great pace, taking his final four minutes of Attack Mode in the closing stages. Rowland then produced some excellent late overtakes to cross the line in first, wrapping up his third win of the season. In the #17 car, Nato started in P18 and used his Attack Mode in the first half of the E-Prix. The Frenchman showed positive race pace and gained four places, finishing 14th. Today's event started in the wet with Rowland advancing through to the duels where he showed his experience in a chaotic session to take his first pole position of the season. The Drivers' Championship leader held his position off the line in tricky damp conditions, before dropping back to second as those around him used their Attack Mode. He showed brilliant speed to hold off his competitors, taking his first four-minute extra 50W boost on Lap 18. The Brit was held back slightly having to give a position back, but battled to secure second. On the other side of the garage, Nato, who qualified in P15, once again used his Attack Mode early to push forward. The Cannes born driver enjoyed a clean race in difficult conditions to cross the line in 13th at his home E-Prix. The results from the weekend see Rowland extend his lead in the Drivers' Standings to 48 points, while Nissan Formula E Team maintains second position but further closes the gap to the top in the Teams' Championship. On the constructors' side, Nissan remains first in the Manufacturers' Standings after seven rounds of action. Formula E gets back underway on 17-18 May with the Tokyo E-Prix, which will be a home race for Nissan Formula E Team. Tommaso Volpe, managing director and team principal, Nissan Formula E Team: "It's special to have such a successful weekend during the first-ever double-header here in Monaco. During Saturday's race, the plan worked brilliantly as Oli capitalized on our Attack Mode and Pit Boost strategies to help ensure the win. Norman struggled as we had a few issues which prevented him showing his full pace, but he still managed to gain a handful of positions in the race. "Today was less straightforward with the wet conditions, so we were delighted to take pole position and a second-place finish with Oli. He was flying throughout qualifying and started the race well. Overtaking proved very difficult given the conditions, but it was an excellent result and topped off a great weekend for him after the victory yesterday. On Norman's side, we made changes during FP3 which helped, but he was still lacking some confidence in the car, especially in these conditions. He showed good pace during the race, but it's easy to get stuck in traffic in the midfield. We know how important it is to score with both cars at every round, so that will be our priority heading to Tokyo. The whole team is looking forward to being there and striving for an even better result at our home race!" Oliver Rowland, driver, Nissan Formula E Team: "It doesn't get that much better than finishing first and second in Monaco! Yesterday, we did a great job on the strategy and timed the Pit Boost and Attack Mode perfectly to get the win. I had some overtakes to make towards the end of the race, but we executed it perfectly. Today I lost some time during the race being stuck in second, and then we dealt with the 50-50 overtake where I had to return the position to avoid a penalty. Second is still a great result, it's been a strong weekend with the victory yesterday and the pole position this morning, so I'll aim to keep this momentum going for next time in Tokyo – it's not only our home race but also a track I enjoyed last season, so I can't wait to be there." Norman Nato, driver, Nissan Formula E Team: "We struggled for pace during Saturday's event, we had some issues in the car from FP1 onwards which made it difficult to score points. The team made some changes overnight and I felt better in FP3 this morning. However, the rain made it really slippery in qualifying and during the race, it was hard to make places when it's all so tight. It's been a weekend to forget for me, but there's lots of racing coming up now to put it right, starting with our home race in Tokyo in two weeks."
