Two years after the Isle of Wight Festival first launched in 1968, it had become bigger than Woodstock. The 1970 edition attracted somewhere between 600,000 and 700,000 punters, with sets from Jimi Hendrix, the Who, Joni Mitchell and the Doors. After that, the fest went on hiatus but was revived in 2002 and has continued to provide a stage for major names in music (and upcoming stars) ever since. When is Isle of Wight Festival 2025? It's happening from Thursday, June 19 to Sunday, June 22. Where is Isle of Wight Festival 2025 and how do I get there? Surprise – it's on the Isle of Wight. Okay, more specifically, the festival takes place at Seaclose Park in the island's town of Newport. All you need to do to get there is to catch a ferry from one of the four mainland ferry ports at Southampton, Portsmouth, Lymington or Southsea. The festival is also offering travel with Big Green Coach with pickup from Birmingham, Bournemouth, Brighton, Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds, Liverpool, London Croydon, London Victoria, London Richmond Manchester, Nottingham, Oxford, Reading and Sheffield. #SHOWBIZ: Dua Lipa confirms engagement to English actor Callum Turner
LONDON: Singer Dua Lipa is officially off the market. In a recent news report, the pop superstar confirmed her engagement to British actor Callum Turner, revealing he proposed with a custom-designed diamond ring, made with help from Dua's sister Rina and her closest friends. "Yeah, we're engaged. It's very exciting," the 29-year-old English and Albanian singer, songwriter and actress told British Vogue. Speaking about the ring, she gushed, "I'm obsessed with it. It's so me. It's nice to know the person you're going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well." The couple, who began dating in January 2024, haven't set a wedding date yet, with both currently focused on work commitments. "I want to finish my tour, Callum's shooting – so we're just enjoying this period," Lipa shared. She admitted that planning a wedding wasn't something she ever fantasised about, but her mindset is now shifting. The 'Dance the Night' singer also expressed her hopes of starting a family one day, though she's unsure how it would align with her demanding schedule. "I'd love to have kids one day," she said. "But it's like the constant question of when and how it would fit with my job, touring, and how much time I'd need to take off. I think it's just going to happen when it happens." Their love story had an almost cinematic quality. Before officially meeting, Lipa and Turner, 35, unknowingly crossed paths multiple times in what she described as "many Sliding Doors moments." Their first real introduction happened at London's River Cafe. A year later, fate intervened again: she ran into him at a dinner in Los Angeles.

NCT's Doyoung kicked off his solo Asia tour, DOYOUNG CONCERT [ Doors ] with a memorable act in Seoul's Jamsil Indoor Stadium on July 13. His day 1 show was met with support from his 'JinJiDo' besties Jinyoung and Jisoo. Besides them, the presence of several other industry acquaintances like RIIZE and actor Gong Myung, made the concert a star-studded affair. Check out the full list of celebrity attendees here. JinJiDo reunion: Jisoo and Jinyoung attend Doyoung's solo concert Doyoung 's second solo concert not only featured the artist's musical prowess and stage presence, but also his enduring bond with fellow South Korean actors and singers. During day 1 of his Seoul show, the OG music bank trio– BLACKPINK's Jisoo, GOT7's Jinyoung and NCT's Doyoung reunited. The latter also gave a shoutout to Jinyoung for attending his concert. Upon hearing the loud screams from fans for the GOT7 member, Doyoung teased them by saying, "Czennies (NCT's fandom NCTzen's affectionate version), you guys really like handsome people." Notably, it was the second JinJiDo crumbs in three weeks, the last one being when Jisoo attended Jinyoung's Hi.5 movie press event and Doyoung put up an Instagram story to show his support. When Doyoung mentioned Gong Myung's latest Netflix show, the crowd erupted in loud cheers, showing their support. Obituary: Val Kilmer, actor
Val Kilmer films Kill Me Again in a casino in Las Vegas February 12, 1989 Las Vegas, Nevada . For some he was difficult to work with, for others he was a dedicated craftsman, but actor Val Kilmer was a performer everyone in Hollywood had an opinion on. A dedicated method actor, Kilmer's more extreme efforts at preparation included taking an ice bath before playing Doc Holliday's death from tuberculosis in Tombstone, wearing leather pants all the time and asking castmates and crew to only refer to him as "Jim" when playing Doors frontman Jim Morrison in The Doors. The Los Angeles native trained at Juilliard and quickly picked up theatre roles before making his film debut in 1984 spy spoof Top Secret! One of his more iconic roles — hotshot pilot Tom "Iceman" Kazansky opposite Tom Cruise in 1986's Top Gun — almost did not happen. Kilmer had turned the part down, but relented after the director promised his character would improve from the initial script. By the early 1990s, Kilmer had made a name for himself as a dashing leading man, but his career almost foundered on the rocks of 1995's Batman Forever — his sole turn as the Caped Crusader was much derided, something which the actor blamed on a suffocating Batsuit. Kilmer subsequently mixed arthouse and big box office films, as well as pursuing passion projects: Citizen Twain, a one-man stage show where he played author Samuel Clemens, was one notable example. A talented musician and published poet, Kilmer was also a visual artist. Val Kilmer died on April 1 aged 65. — APL/agencies

Singer Dua Lipa has finally confirmed she and her beau Callum Turner are engaged after months of speculation, as she made rare comments about their romance. The Levitating singer's fans spotted she was wearing a diamond ring on her wedding finger in an Instagram post on Christmas Eve and the 29 year old has now confirmed the 35 year old actor popped the question with a custom piece of jewellery he had made with the advice of her sister Rina and her best friends. Dua told the new issue of Britain's Vogue magazine: "Yeah, we're engaged. It's very exciting." Of her ring, she added: 'I'm obsessed with it. It's so me. It's nice to know the person that you're going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well.' However, the couple - who began dating in January 2024 - have yet to set a wedding date because of their busy work schedules. As she made rare comments about her romance, Dua said: 'I want to finish my tour, Callum's shooting, so we're just enjoying this period. "I've never been someone who's really thought about a wedding, or dreamt about what kind of bride I would be. "All of a sudden I'm like: 'Oh, what would I wear?'' Although Dua has seen people get engaged in the past, she had "never really understood the weight of it' but now she thinks committing to another person is "special". She said: 'This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don't know, be best friends forever – it's a really special feeling.' The Dance the Night Away hitmaker is keen to have a family of her own but admitted she doesn't know when would be a "good time" because of the demands of her pop career. She said: "I'd love to have kids one day. But it's like the constant question of when would there ever be a good time – how it would fit in with my job and how it would work if I went on tour, and how much time out I'd have to take. "I think it's just one of those things that's going to happen when it happens. I love kids, but I think there's so much more to raising a child than just loving children.' Dua and Callum had "many Sliding Doors moments", where they were in the same place at the same time without realising, before being introduced to one another at the River Cafe in London. A year later, she was having dinner in Los Angeles with her friend Mustafa the Poet when "all of a sudden" Callum appeared. She thought: 'Oh, it's that really hot guy from The River Cafe.' During their conversation, the pair realised they both "just happened to be reading" Hernan Diaz's novel Trust. Asked if she feels they were destined to be together, she replied: 'One thousand per cent.'
